They really are crazy. Hamas's kidnapping an Israeli soldier 90
minutes after a cease fire shows the truly insane thinking of
the Nazi Hamas Even the Muslims are starting to figure this
out.

worldview, but to explain why Hamas would do this, what it
likely hopes to accomplish, and why.
First, a caveat: it is still not 100 percent clear whether
Hamas's leadership was directly responsible for this. On the one
hand, the kidnapping appeared highly a coordinated cross-border
raid from beginning to end (unlike the much more amateurish
murders of three Israeli students last month) and was timed in a
way that maximizes Hamas's potential strategic gain. On the
other, Hamas's political and militant branches are often out of
sync, and the political leadership is already backtracking on
claiming responsibility. That question is still shaking out;
this is all premised on explaining why Hamas would plausibly
decide to kidnap an Israeli soldier.[/quote]

Check the latest news. Israel admits Lt. Goldin was killed in
action, not kidnapped.

Just so we are clear, I'm on Israel's side on this issue. The
nonsense they've had to put up with from their neighbors for
many decades is unacceptable. But....that does not excuse them
for the things they have done wrong either, and their hands are
not entirely clean.

I'm not thinking Isrel's hands are totally clean. Not even
trying to push this view. In war, is anyone's hands clean?
In this case the evidence is clear less than two hours after a
cease fire is enacted Hamas attacked soldiers. Hardly an act
consistent with an organization who wishes humanitarian relief
for it's people. Further magnifying the fact that Hamas doesn't
really care about it's people. If they did they wouldn't be
hiding bombs and rockets in schools and hospitals. Even
Bikeracer can't argue that obvious point.

What they are doing is pretty obvious. SOP tactics for fighting
an army you cannot defeat by conventional means.
They put their people in harm's way then provoke the Israeli's
into an attack. When civilians inevitably die they play victim
on the world stage, hoping sympathies fall their way and align
behind their agenda. And it's working.
IMHO someone (UN? Where are you?) needs to draw up a set of
fair and equitable borders and enforce them. So much as a
spitwad crosses over that border from either side and severe
punishment will ensue.

The U.N. is the biggest joke on the face of this planet.
We should shut down the U.N. complex in New York and tell them
to find another place to park that circus.

The UN, the same organization that found rockets stored in
schools and handed them back over to Hamas. Yes that UN?
