       Illegals demand "represntation"
   DIR By: trollslayer

I'm wondering, did they mistake themselves as Americans?
       --- Quote ---
       > Illegal immigrants picketed the White House Monday afternoon,
calling on fellow immigrant-rights advocacy groups to refuse to
meet with the Obama administration until President Obama
specifically includes illegal immigrants in any future meetings.
       >
       > “We are among the millions of people who will either benefit
or be harmed by the decisions the President makes, and we are
here to represent ourselves in any future negotiations,” said
Rosi Carrasco, one of organizers, in a statement announcing the
       action.

Heh. The country is mad at Obama for the immigration mess, and
the immigrants are mad at Obama for the immigration mess, lol.

I guess I'm not seein'. where are the illegals right to be mad
at anyone else but their parents for bringing them here. Simply
being in America doesn't make you any more American than eating
       beans makes you a vegetarian.

I think it sad that a nation of immigrants should get so pissed
       about immigrants.

We're also a country of laws F. We do welcome immigrants, from
all countries. As long as they do it legally. You've already
posted your mindset on this issue time and again. Breaking the
law is good, following the law is bad. You've just done it
       again

Yeah, sure, except I never said anything like that and you're
putting words in my mouth once again.
If you ever bothered to ask, you'd learn that my biggest concern
is the lack of empathy for fellow human beings. It points to a
deep soul-sickness in this country. Nothing seems to bring out
the ugly in my neighbors to the right like the prospect of
Mexicans and South Americans getting a fair shot at
citizenship...heck, even children and subject to their rancor.

Care to explain which Nation ISN'T or wasn't ever a nation of
immigrants? The reason people from these Central American
countries are Spanish speaking is because THEIR ancestors were
immigrants from Spain. (and maybe a few other places) Slightly
off topic but a deep thought provoking question none the less,
       what went wrong there? ???

I guess that's true. I don't think we can compare what happened
in the United States to the Roman occupation of Britain or
Vikings taking land in Scotland. I think we have a very unique
history of immigration building our nation.

That goes back to the nation's founding on "rugged
individualism". Loose translation: get off my land or I'll
       shoot you.
Few if any other nations have that individualistic concept as
part of their foundation. It's part of the reason we have such
horrendous issues with gun and other violence.

I've never put words into your mouth F. You aren't a believer
in laws. This isn't the first time you've promoted breaking the
law for what you considered "the common good". Unlike yourself
I've been paying attention. You haven't. In more than one post
I've posted we need to take care of the families suffering in
our inner cities first. Then, and only then should we put our
hands out to those less fortunate from other countries. It
doesn't make any sense to grant refugee status to kids and
families when we have ares that are war zones in out own
country. One of which is in our presidents own back yard. A
clear case of selective over sight. :'(
