Might be he is finally learning to be an executive, even $8 an
hour managers at Taco Bell fire folk, guess the President is
       finally catching up.
Shinseki, the man most famous for forcing soldiers to wear
berets making anyone with a double chin to look like Chef
Boyardee. Nevertheless, this basically good feller had no
chance of fixing the long term problem of trying to fix a single
payer health care system. Have a great retirement General.

I listened to some of his speech earlier about homeless vets.
It sounded like he didn't plan on stepping down. Also he'd been
in touch with Reid and Pelosi prior to that. I thought he was
going to fight it. Obama must have gave him an offer he
       couldn't refuse. Bout time.

It's going to take a top to bottom overhaul to fix the VA.
There are some good folks there, but they are surrounded by far
too many lazy, self-serving "civil servants" who can't be
bothered to actually help a veteran.

I don't know, I think it's probably less laziness than
       protecting turf.
This misrepresenting waiting lists sounds like it should be
criminal to me, but there simple fixes to help some.
Over half of the VA customers are covered by Medicare and mostly
use the VA for lower co-pays, why can't they just issue many
more vouchers to be seen at civilian hospitals to lower the wait
time? Especially in an areas like Phoenix with tens of
thousands of old fart snowbirds requesting care only during the
       winter.
The VA bills Medicare, so Medicare ends up paying the vast
majority of the expense either way. I received a voucher once,
it was like pulling teeth to get but the system is already in
       place.
