NBA looked the other way. NAACP was going to give him his 2nd
lifetime achievement award. But his bigoted commentary was well
known and had been going on for a long time. That it was exposed
to the greater public forced these groups to finally act. It
says a lot about what motivates them both.
What is said here pretty much calls them all out as they should
be

I wanted to se a more liberal spin on this discussion so i went
to the other forum, it looks like they have blocked public
access to what they consider their insiteful, intelligent
discussions. I wonder what they are afraid of others seeing that
they feel the need to hide? :o

I guess, if that's what you wish to call it. :D It seems of
late liberals aren't interested in discussion. Look at what
we've seen from the administration. Climate change is real, end
of discussion. Obamacare is here to stay, end of discussion,
period, and the list goes on. I see at times our visitor count
is as high as 6 to 8. That's good.

I suspect the liberal political class will pretty much keep
quiet on this one. First, this guy, while not overly political,
usually only donated to Democrats. The bigger issue, if
everything goes as expected, will happen without the help of big
government.

The NAACP are hypocrites. Sterling's donated money is more
important to them. Sterling is a liberal. And here we have been
told to believe that only white conservatives can be racists?
The moderators over in Munchkinland have closed it off.
They are too embarrassed of they're own sad behavior.
For them it is far easier to hide it, then it is for them to
attempt to develop any kind of ethics.

I don't care HOW this guy voted, or WHO he gave money to. He's a
racist d_ick.
He's a racist, on that everyone agrees! The problem with a
group who fights racism accepting money from a racist and giving
him two lifetime achievement awards is hypocrisy on a grand
scale. Exactly what has Sterling done to promote the
advancement of blacks?
In 2009, Sterling agreed to a $2.765-million settlement
in a case that alleged discrimination against African Americans,
Latinos and others at apartment buildings he owned in Los
Angeles County.
Sterling denied the charges by the Justice Department and in two
separate lawsuits by former tenants. All three cases were
covered by the settlement. The former tenants alleged property
managers used racial slurs against them and didn’t follow
through on the terms of their lease agreements. Sterling,
though, didn’t admit any liability in the settlement.
2009 was when he received his first lifetime achievement award.
It would be a little hard for the NAACP to not know about it.

Sterling is a liberal.
Since you brought the subject up- no.
Although he has donated to (three) democratic candidates in the
past, Sterling is a registered Republican.

And yes, everyone who says it does not matter is correct. This
sort of behavior isn't restricted to just one party or the
other, they both have their shining examples of idiocy.
But if you are going to play the politics game like National
Review was in such a hurry to do.....at least get the facts
correct.

Exactly. This is how the system is supposed to work. When
Idiots behave like idiots, market pressures punish them for it.
No "hate speech" or other unconstitutional legislation
necessary.

Here is another guy who is a racist. Calling Clarence Thomas an
"Uncle Tom" because his interpretation of the law and/or The
Constitution doesn't match the needs of black people or this
particular Congressman. Funny, I hear next to nothing in the
press about this.
A black congressman is sticking by his comment calling
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an “Uncle Tom,” saying the
jurist’s positions on the high court “have been adverse to the
minority community.”
Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., made his original comment about
Thomas, the only African-American judge on the Supreme Court, in
a webcast Sunday with the New Nation of Islam. His remarks were
first reported by BuzzFeed.
Asked Wednesday by CNN whether “Uncle Tom” was a racially
charged term, Thompson said: “For some it is, but to others it’s
the truth.”
Thompson cited Thomas’ votes on Supreme Court cases dealing with
voter identification laws and affirmative action. Last year, the
high court struck down a key provision of the 1965 Voting Rights
Act that left the door open to new voter ID rules. Earlier this
month, the Supreme Court ruled 6-2 in a Michigan case upholding
the right of states to ban racial preferences in university
admissions.
“The people that I represent, for the most part, have a real
issue with those decisions,” said Thompson, who was first
elected in 1993. “All those issues are very important and for
someone in the court who’s African-American and not sensitive to
that is a real problem.”
Thompson was also asked by CNN’s Dana Bash to explain his view
that opposition to Obama is based on the president’s race.
“Well, I’ve been here a long time,” said Thompson, the top
Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee. “I’ve never
seen the venom put forth on another candidate or a president
like I’ve seen with this president and that’s my
opinion.”
