Just FYI, the best antivirus programs out there right now are
Avast, AVG and Avira. I have no idea why they all begin with
       the letter "A" either, lol.
All have free versions you can download and use provided you
don't mind an occasional popup nag to upgrade. You don't need
       to pay a cent.
( Worst: Norton and Macafee. Bad, bad bad)
The other indispensable programs to have and occasionally run
       are:
Malwarebytes. Also has a free version available, it catches a
lot of stuff the AV's do not.
And CCleaner, which clears out internet cache and temp files
that hog a lot of space needlessly. That's probably all Zaxx
       was going to run.

My computer died last week so I had to buy a new one. Windows
       8. Don't really care for it so. But I am slowly learning how to
       use it.
.The problem....Now I can't view any attachments posted here in
the forum. What the heck is up with that?

Security settings in the browser are too tight. It's shipped
locked down pretty hard.... the latest version of IE won't even
       open PDF Files, lol.
Easiest solution is to install Chrome or Firefox.

       Now it's my turn. I have a problem I just can't figure out. I
run Firefox. I get annoying pop ups in the corner. I have AVG
as well. I can avoid getting these if I tun off Adobe Flash.
However when I do that I can't see the music videos etc.
Turning it on and off is pretty easy a I just do this in the web
browser bar. How can I get rid of those annoying popups?

I just installed adblocker plus. Didn't seem to do anything.
Another thing that happens is I get hyperlinks added where there
shouldn't be any along with popups.
I did a little tinkering with the settings and I no longer have
the pop ups or the hyperlinks. Thanks for that 2fat.

A different kind of problem. First there was junk mail, then the
Superbowl became the Superbowl of Commercials, then e-mails
begat spam, while the rest of the internet was introduced to pop
up ads. At least you could knock down a pop up but now this very
has at any given time two banner ads (at least that what I think
they referred to) keeps showing up on my site. Anyone else get
       this?
       www.tbdress.com
In a bizarre twist of create a forum double standards of
censorship I was going to try to post a direct link to a picture
this company keeps sending me but when I tried typing out the
web address it would not go through because it contained the
word "C-O-C-K" tail dress in the ip address.
In case someone is interested, try typing in code number
10717461 I don't know why they seem to think I would ever buy
this. I am not a woman nor a cross dresser. For those of you
       are, knock yourself out!

Most spam is based on sites you have visited in the past and has
left a cookie in your cache. So while you may deny your
personal preferences, your internet history tells all!! :) :)
       Embrace your preferences WMD! :D
I know you have a new computer but if you talk to Rapids real
nice he may be able to help you out.

If that new computer has windows 8.1. Then it is processed.
       8.1 is the Satin's work.
