Holder wants gun owners to wear a bracelet

This from the party who maintains the stance that voter
registration laws are unconstitutional.

> Attorney General Eric Holder wants to explore “common sense”
gun reforms, like mandating that gun owners would have to wear
bracelets before they could activate their firearms.
>
> Holder made his remarks while testifying before a U.S. House
of Representatives appropriations committee on Friday. He
acknowledged the existence of the Second Amendment, which gives
people the unqualified right to own and carry weapons, but
nevertheless expressed support for several gun control measures
that he described as “common sense reforms,” according to The
Washington Free Beacon.

It is well past the time for someone to put a pair of bracelets
of a different kind on Eric Holder.

Hmmm
Hitler and the Nazis forced all Jews to wear the Star of David
where it could be seen at all times.
How can people not be fearful of Obama and his Administration?
After what I have seen over the last 6 years. I will never vote
for another Democrat. They brought this all about. They embrace
this Dictator and his agendas and tactics.

I tend to agree. The hypocrisy shown by this administration
never ceases to amuse. Fight voter registration while limiting
gun ownership. Sign an executive order to provide equal pay to
women while you under pay them in your own office. Welcome back
my friends to the show that never ends, We're so glad to could
attend come inside come inside...

Karn Evil seemed to be appropriate under the circumstances.

I thought 'Won't get Fooled Again' might be more appropriate.
So Snicks, you can't vote Dem for obvious reasons, but
Republican should also be off-limits given their anti-bill of
rights " Fourth, fifth and sixth amendments? Who needs 'em?"
history. You finally coming over to the dark side and voting
Libertarian? ;)

Owning a firearm does not effect who gets to run the Country.

Neither does voter ID unless you can prove fraud (that voter ID
would actually prevent) actually exists. Nobody has.
It's quite similar to gun registration, both are an unnecessary
burden on a constitutional right that addresses no real problem
and fixes nothing.

The difference being Linda, voter ID's are offered for free.
The technology behind what Holder is proposing isn't. You can
also bet, to buy this bracelet that Holder is proposing, you'll
need to provide some kind of ID to buy it. To not have to
provide it defeats the purpose behind it.

It's an interesting idea, interlocking firearms with some form
of owner ID. But it should put the burden on the violators, not
the law-abiding folks. For example:
How about putting bracelets on convicted felons when they are
released? Only set them up to work opposite of how Holder is
suggesting. If the bracelet's wearer comes anywhere near a
firearm it notifies the nearest parole office of the violation
and their location, back behind bars they go.

You know that's a half-truth, right?
The ID is "free" but the certified birth certificate you may
have to produce to get it is not. Nor is the travel back to
your home county (or state!) if you don't have one on hand.
And that doesn't begin to describe the expense for those who
have never had a birth certificate or driver's license- not
uncommon among older American females born at home.
