How Sabato got to the ring at Aniversario?
DIR By: @ChikarANON

I've been thinking about this since did my ill-fated attempt to
"live"-tweet the Aniversario blu-ray a month or two ago that
devolved into jokes about Orbit Adventure Ant's arse showing
through his too-thin/too-white tights and then I figured out
Vine and... Right. No one cares. Moving on...
So the distinguished-looking guy who replaced Gavin after he was
incapacitated; who is he? Wikipedia list "Brendan O'Donnell" as
ring announcer but the picture on the roster page is of a guy
with long red hair and terrible facial hair. Anyway, I would
like to know his identity and history, but a recent re-watch of
Sabato's verbal Red Wedding reveals that this guy handed a live
mic to Sabato completely willingly. Was he unaware of Sabato's
persona non grata status in CHIKARA at the time?
Also, Sabato came from the back or at least stepped up on the
stage before entering the ring. Was he backstage as an invited
friend and he just decided to hijack the show during
intermission? If so, who would invite Sabato backstage to hang
out at a CHIKARA show given that aforementioned Latin term I
don't wanna type again?

He was behind where I was standing during the Ophidian Amasis
match. I accidently bumped into him and apologized then I saw
that he was Sabato.

Exactly. I have so many questions about this.
For someone who wasn't employed by Chikara and supposedly isn't
well-liked, he certainly was able to pull some strings to get
out to the ring, because he didn't come from the crowd - he came
from behind the curtain. Did anyone see him duck behind it or
climb onto the stage? He could have easily snuck backstage
during intermish when everyone was distracted. The only person I
know didn't help him was Donst, because Tim asked Sabato why he
didn't say hi when he was at Aniversario. Sabato replied that he
looked busy. So, we can rule him out (probably the point of that
conversation.)
Also, why not have Condor or Troc security take him out? Why
have Bryce, Barber, Dan, and company do it? And why not have
them do it BEFORE he mentioned the picture? We all saw him
holding the envelope, he wasn't hiding it.
I'm starting to wonder if Wink let him back there and stalled to
give Sabato time to reveal the picture. To play devil's
advocate, maybe Wink really did care about Chikara and was
convinced that helping to end it was the way to save it. Maybe
he was an inside man and the ace in pocket.
Brendan's been around for a while. I've seen him at a bunch of
shows before. He's Chikara "concierge." But I think he's worth
looking at again.

Derek Sabato ‏@dereksabato 11h
Just to let everyone know I was never backstage at the CHIKARA
iPPV. I came in through the crowd and found a spot not guarded
by security.
Ummm... I have to ask.... this was posted on the 101 board....
but us ASKING about that theory... as far as I know... was
never mentioned anywhere else but HERE???

I thought it was interesting he tweeted that after Chikaranon
posted the original post. He had to read it here. This isn't the
first time this has happened either. When I asked, Sabato said
he didn't go through the curtain, I thought he did. I'll have to
watch it again when I get home from work and see where exactly
he comes from.

Brendon has been around since the 1st Williamsport show. Back
when Chikara had a podcast, Brendan was a guest and explained
how he got involved in Chikara. He's friends with Bryce. He
welcomes the crowds to the show and explains things to new fans.
He's not a part of any conspiracy.

before he came out from the back, he came in through the front
door and tried to get over the barricade to the ring right next
to where I was standing, but was denied by the (Troc) security
standing duty. Few minutes later is when he made his now
infamous entrance. Hmm.

How did I miss that Chris? I was standing pretty close to where
you were. Actually, I know what I was doing - watching Donst.
Maybe I was wrong - and maybe he was involved as a distraction
of some kind, even if he didn't know it? It seems that there is
a lot of misdirection going on here. And who do we know that
loves to use misdirection as an offensive trick?
I watched Aniversario and you can only see that Sabato comes in
from the left, but not actually where he comes from. It could
have been the crowd. Still doesn't change the fact that
something was fishy about the whole thing.

That's not hijinx. That's the BEST PODCAST EVER.
