A man and his wife discovered the victim's body at approximately
5:30 PM alongside Highway 93 near White Hills, Arizona on
September 28, 2016. It is possible that the girl originated from
Las Vegas, Nevada (due to the fact that Highway 93 runs through
the city) or perhaps somewhere in southern Arizona. Authorities
believe the body was dumped at the location it was found and she
had died elsewhere.

tattoos.

Clothing: The body was unclothed, but a long-sleeved Hollister
shirt was nearby.

Circumstances of Discovery

An autopsy did not reveal her cause of death. Investigators,
however, believe foul play was involved in her death and are
treating the case as a homicide.

Mohave County Jane Doe (2016)
Mohave County Jane Doe was a teenager whose body was discovered
along a highway in September 2016.
Case
The girl's unclothed body was discovered along US Highway 93 in
Mohave County, Arizona. The road is frequented by people from
the southern part of the state as well as Las Vegas, Nevada.
Isotope testing indicated the girl was native to the Northern
United States or possibly Canada.

She was of African descent, but may have been biracial.

DISCOVERY:
On September 28, 2016, a man and a woman hiking along Highway 93
in White Hills, Arizona discovered the nude body of a deceased
female. The mainly desert area was located in a unincorporated
area of Mohave County, between Kingman and the Hoover Dam.
The area in which the body was located is known to be heavily
travelled and is a main thoroughfare between southern Arizona
and Las Vegas, Nevada. The town of White Hills is a popular pit
stop for travellers.
AUTOPSY:
An autopsy was conducted upon the body being brought to the
Mohave County Medical Examiner, where it was learnt Jane Doe�s
death had occurred approximately one to two weeks prior to being
discovered. Due to exposure and the amount of decomposition, the
body had entered a mummified state and, as such, a cause of
death could not be determined.
Currently, police are of the belief foul play was involved and
they are currently working on the assumption Jane Doe�s death
was the result of a homicide.
DETAILS:
Given the state of her body, Jane Doe�s ethnicity is unknown.
Police are currently working on the belief she was either
African American or biracial. She is believed to have been
between 14 and 17 years of age, and stood 5�5&#8243; to
5�7&#8243;, weighing in at approximately 105 to 130 pounds.
While her eye colour is currently unknown, police say she had
thick, kinky brown or black hair that was approximately 5&#8243;
long. Her ears were pierced, and she didn�t have any tattoos or
noticeable scars. When her body was found, Jane Doe had
manicured fingernails and her toenails had remnants of pink
polish on them.
A look through her dental records showed she had orthodontic
work done at one point, possibly using Invisalign retainers.
A long-sleeve Hollister shirt was found near her body. However,
it is unknown at this time if it belonged to Jane Doe or has any
relevance to the case.
Police believe Jane Doe could have originated from Las Vegas or
southern Arizona, given Highway 93 ran through both areas. They
are currently working the theory that she was killed elsewhere
and her body dumped along the highway.

This is a composite sketch of an African American or Biracial
female whose body was found on north Highway 93 between Kingman,
Arizona and the Hoover Dam. Officers are working on identifying
the girl who may be between the ages of 13 and 17. 11/22/16

LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) � The Mohave County Sheriff's Office
say she was dumped in the desert. Her body discovered along the
busy road that connects Las Vegas, Nevada to Southern Arizona.
She is Jane Doe and she is someone�s daughter.
The search for justice began a few hundred yards from U-S 93
near the Nevada/Arizona border. The girl�s body was found
September 28 near White Hills, Arizona. Detectives believe her
body had been there a week or two.
But who is she? That is the question everyone wants to be
answered.
"We need to find out who she is,� said Detective Lt. Scot Durst
with the Mohave County Sheriff�s Office.
Newly-released images could be the answer to figuring out who
she is.
"We�re hoping someone recognizes her,� explained Durst. "We
definitely believe there was foul play involved. We are treating
this as a homicide,� he continued.
She could be from anywhere. White Hills is a popular pit stop
for drivers. For now, Jane Doe is an African-American or
bi-racial girl. They believe she was 13 to 17 years old. She
weighed between 105 and 130 pounds. She had pierced ears. She
was 5�7� and had no tattoos or scars.
"It did appear she had been placed there by someone. She didn�t
get there on her own. We�re convinced of that,� noted Durst.
Her family may be searching for her, but who was remains a
mystery.
"Anyone who met this fate deserves a name and to be buried
properly and for the family to have closure,� he continued.
