Do YOU know 'Jane Doe'? Chicago Police ask public's help
identifying bones of teen girl found in 2005
       - The skeletal remains were found near Metra railroad track in
13000 block of South Indiana Avenue on April 28, 2005
       - The bones are those of a white female between the ages of 13
and 18 who was strangled to death
Chicago Police are appealing for the public's help in
identifying the bones of a teenage girl that were found in 2005
on the city’s South Side. According to a press release put out
by the police department Tuesday, the skeletal remains were
discovered near the Metra railroad track in the 13000 block of
South Indiana Avenue on April 28, 2005.
Experts have determined that the remains are those of a white
female between the ages of 13 and 18. The news release was
accompanied by a photo showing a facial reconstruction done by
the FBI based on the available scientific data.
       The image shows the face of a girl from three different angles;
the young victim is depicted with a straight nose, a strong
square jaw, full lips and wavy hair. According to the Cook
County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim was strangled and
her death was ruled a homicide.
Anyone who recognizes the victim from the photo is asked to call
Area South detectives at (312) 747-8271, or the medical
       examiner’s office at (312) 666-0500.
