Date of Discovery: March 29, 1999
Location of Discovery: Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee
Estimated Date of Death: Months prior
State of Remains: Not recognizable - Decomposing/putrefaction
       Cause of Death: Unknown
       Physical Description
       Estimated Age: 30-45 years old
       Race: White
       Sex: Female
       Height: 5'4"
       Weight: 130 lbs.
Hair Color: Dark brown to black.
       Eye Color: Unknown.
Distinguishing Marks/Features: She may have had a peculiar
stride due to possible bow-leggedness. Sometime before her
death, she fractured the top of both feet. Both fractures had
healed, but those injuries might have caused limping. She also
had previously fractured the pinkie finger of her left hand, and
had fractured the first rib on her right side. This would have
caused a stiff or sore right shoulder. Lastly, she had healed
fractures of the nose. These injuries occurred prior to her
death, and are not associated with her death.
       Identifiers
Dentals: Available. Her dental hygiene was extremely poor. She
had a total of 12 teeth, and all showed signs of advanced decay
and periodontal disease. All of her front teeth were missing,
presumably due to periodontal disease. She might have complained
of a tooth ache on her left lower jaw, due to an abscess that
was active at the time of her death.
       Fingerprints: Not available.
       DNA: Available.
       Clothing & Personal Items
Clothing: She was wearing only a pair of red shorts, size 18-20.
       Jewelry: Unknown
Additional Personal Items: Red, "twist-style" ponytail holder
and a rubber band around her left wrist.
       Circumstances of Discovery
On March 29, 1999, workers with Southern Services were cleaning
brush and garbage from a creek bed near the Cannon Avenue
overpass when they discovered the partially-dressed body of a
woman, who had probably been dead for a few months.
The area of the creek where the body was found runs parallel to
Interstate 24 eastbound, between the north and south Rossville
Boulevard exits. The body was located near the 2500 block of
       Cannon Avenue.
