Identity still unknown for woman found dead in Snake River 5
       years ago this week
TWIN FALLS — A five-year-old cold case remains unsolved, with no
new leads. A woman who died after falling from the Perrine
Bridge on Sept. 9, 2014, has never been identified, according to
       authorities.
“It’s basically a waiting game,” Twin Falls County Coroner Gene
       Turley said Tuesday.
At the time of the incident, investigators estimated the woman’s
age to be in her late 40s. She was 5 feet, 5 inches tall, had
short brown hair, hazel or blue-green eyes, scars on her left
arm, and weighed about 140 pounds.
Kayakers found her body that afternoon between the bridge and
the boat ramp at Centennial Park. She was wearing a black shirt,
black cargo pants two sizes too large with a webbed belt. Men’s
size 11.5 tennis shoes were on her feet, also too large.
The woman’s fingerprints were placed in national databases. Her
DNA and dental impressions were taken, as well.
No missing person reports matched her description. As DNA
databases continue to grow, there may eventually be a match
which will help with identification, Tara Ortmann of the
Coroner’s office said. The woman was buried at Sunset Memorial
Park weeks after her death with more than two dozen members of
       the community in attendance.
“The case is still open,” said Twin Falls County Sheriff’s
Office spokeswoman Lori Stewart. “There’s no new information at
       this time.”

The identity of 2014 Jane Doe in Twin Falls has been uncovered
       By Zach Bruhl
Published: Oct. 13, 2022 at 11:14 AM AEDT
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) —A 2014 cold case of Jane Doe,
whose body was found in the water below the Perrine Bridge, has
       been solved.
The Jane Doe has been identified as Cynthia Gunnerson, also
known as Sasha Ergateage, of San Diego, California.
The case had been considered inactive since august of 2020.
The case was picked up by Idaho Cold Case Advanced DNA Methods
Working Group, who sent a DNA sample to Othram, Inc Labs in
Texas. There, through genetic sequencing, Gunnerson’s identity
       was confirmed.
“In the end run, we knew that Jane Doe had a family somewhere,
we knew that she had a life and a family and that there were
people that were missing her, that’s really hard to walk away
from. Wow, we couldn’t be happier that we have this and can
provide some closure to them,” said Lori Stewart from the Twin
       Falls County Sheriff’s Office.
On October of 2014, Gunnerson was laid to rest in Sunset
Memorial Park, with a Jane Doe headstone. What happens to her
body now will be left up to her family. The Gunnersons have
asked for privacy in their time of mourning.
On Wednesday, the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s office released
the following press release outlining the details of the
       investigation.
