The skeletal remains were originally found in 1958. The Utah
State Medical Examiner's Office was notified of the remains in
May 1979. The remains were released to the University of Utah
Anthropology Department in 1984. The remains were returned to
the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office in 2010. A forensic
anthropology report was completed in 2020.
The premortem skeletal trauma and disease suggests the decedent
was a working cowboy or rodeo athlete, who may have been
knock-kneed.
