Miami-Dade County Jane Doe (1979)
HTML https://i.imgur.com/GKeivuD.jpg
The Miami-Dade County Jane Doe may be an Ohio runaway named Tina
with the nickname "Sheeba."
On September 4, 1979, a young woman's body was found lying in an
apartment complex parking lot next to a dumpster in Dade,
Miami-Dade County, Florida. She was believed to have died just
hours before, leaving her face in a recognizable condition. She
had not been murdered at that location and had likely been
killed at a different area.[10] Her eyes were described to be
hazel, although the National Missing and Unidentified Persons
System states that they were a grayish-green.[11] Her hair was
strawberry blond and she was at a height of five feet five to
five feet eight inches tall with a weight of 120 pounds.[12][13]
She was between seventeen and twenty-five years old at the time
of her death. On her calves, burns were found, possibly from
coming in contact with tail pipes from riding on a
motorcycle.[14] The victim also had acne on her face and some
fillings in her mouth. The body was found clad in a white tee
shirt, a yellow scarf with flower designs and blue jeans. Recent
developments in her case have turned up the possibility that she
may have been an Ohio runaway named Tina with the nickname
"Sheeba."[15]However, no information has been published if this
lead has had results.[16][17] The missing girl had left Ohio in
1977 and has never been seen or heard from since.[18] The
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children published
this information on their Facebook page dedicated to
unidentified children, hoping for additional tips.[19]

By Mary Kilpatrick, Northeast Ohio Media Group

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- An unidentified woman found dead in Miami
three decades ago may hail from Ohio, and investigators are
looking for her family, Miami Dade police said.
The strawberry blonde, known only as "Tina or Sheeba," ran away
from home in the 1970s, police said. She was discovered dead on
Sept. 4, 1979 in a Miami apartment building parking lot.
The woman was between 17 and 25 years of age, and is described
as being five feet, eight inches, police said. She weighed about
120 pounds, had hazel eyes and visible acne. The woman also had
several fillings in her teeth. Old burns from motorcycle exhaust
pipes scared her calves.
She was found wearing a white t-shirt, a yellow floral scarf and
long blue jeans.
Miami Dade police are working with the National Center for
Missing and Exploited Children to identify the woman.
If you have any information about who this woman is, please call
1-800-843-5678.

Late summer 1979
HTML https://i.imgur.com/GKeivuD.jpg
My name is Tina, and I’m from the state of Ohio. That’s what I
told my friends in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We all hung out at
the beach. Can you blame us? It’s Florida and the ocean is
beautiful. Summer 1979, I’m in my twenties, I have my entire
life ahead of me. Why not spend my time at the beach?
Well, I thought I had my whole life ahead of me. Then I met
someone who stole my future, my life. I was killed at the hands
of a homicidal maniac. I was strangled and left for dead in a
wooded lot in the rural area of Miami-Dade, Florida.
Rumor has it that I might have been known on the beach by the
name Sheeba. So, that’s what the local cops reported. Then this
other young lady came forward and said that I was a runaway from
Ohio. I told her my name was Tina.
Again—I tell you Ohio or Florida, where would you want to spend
your twenties, the prime of your life? For me, it was Florida.
It doesn’t matter if I ran away from Ohio, or if I made it up. I
ended up on the beach in Fort Lauderdale until some ruthless
monster took my life.
Sunny beaches and me with my strawberry blonde hair, gray-green
eyes, and long legs (5'8"); Who could ask for more? Oh wait, I
could. I mean living my twenties on the beach was great, but
what was next? I could have had a long, loving life with a
husband and children, maybe even a career. I never got that
chance. I never got to see what came after my beach days. No, it
all ended on September 4, 1979. I was wearing a white T-shirt,
floral scarf, and long blue jeans.
So before I came to play on the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, I
ran away. Most likely, I ran from the state of Ohio. Someone out
there knows who I am. Someone out there must remember me. My
friends from high school? Neighbors from the street I grew up
on? Churches, social clubs, maybe even local cops from my old
hometown—someone somewhere out there knows who I am. Please call
these people and tell them my name. It’s time for me come home.
