OKC police trying to identify skull found in 2009
The Associated Press
Mar 24, 2010
Oklahoma City police are trying to identify a human skull that
was found near Lake Overholser last year.
Officers released a photo Wednesday of a facial reconstruction
of a woman whose remains were discovered at the Stinchcomb
Wildlife Refuge on March 17, 2009. Police say the clay model was
created by a forensic artist.
According to a news release, children playing in the area found
the skull after it had washed up in a riverbed.
Investigators believe that the skull belongs to a white female
who was between 20 and 45 years of age when she died.
The skull could have been in the area from one to 20 years
before it was discovered.
If anyone recognizes the female, or has any information on this
case, they are asked to call the Homicide Tip Line at
405-297-1200.
