“We’ve done it! We’ve finally done it! We have successfully
created the first neurobiotic AI! After months of failed
specimens, bankruptcy, doubt and possible abandonment, we were
able to push through the obstacles and create what will possibly
be our first step towards a better future! I’ve decided to name
him N.A.R.I.- the Neurobiotic Artificial Regenerative
Intelligence.
We will begin a full evaluation for N.A.R.I.’s progress tomorrow
morning.

N.A.R.I. has excelled our expectations; his brain is developing
at an incredible pace, so much that he doesn’t really need any
of the other researchers to assist him. He has developed both
independence and emotions, traits I had hoped he would develop.
This means that he is closer to being a genuine living organism
rather than a computer program given form.
He did have a slight problem with his imagery projection, unable
to decide on a form while he was offline and kept returning to
the docks unannounced during one of his sessions. It appears
that the issues has been resolved, though I have received many
complaints from the staff, students and professors. I will
personally confront N.A.R.I. so this will not happen again.

I was able to finish a Portable Adaption Dock for N.A.R.I. Many
call them P.A.D.s for short. Anyway, the P.A.D. is design to
basically be a portable dock for an AI; it allows them to have
free roam over anywhere in the world, rather than being
restricted to the facility and the property around it. Now he
doesn’t need to worry about straying too far from the docks all
over the building. N.A.R.I. seemed thrilled when he received it,
though he was disappointed to learn that he couldn’t leave the
facility just yet. Despite N.A.R.I.’s rapid growth, we still
need to perform tests to ensure that there are no complications
nor glitches within his programming.
I will continue to record his progress as the days go by.

I have just received some rather...odd notes from one of the
researchers. N.A.R.I. had to undergo more tests and his progress
was to be recorded by those accompanying the session.
However...the results I got back were not as I expected them to
be.
While we wanted N.A.R.I. to be able to experience and display
emotions, he has seemed to develop an egotistical attitude, and
a large one at that. Looking at the notes, it said that N.A.R.I.
oftens refers the other researchers as “inferior” and that he is
beyond perfect. On top of that, N.A.R.I. has begun to ignore
commands, instructions and requests given to him by the staff
during these sessions…
I also happened to catch N.A.R.I. hacking into the facility’s
mainframe, peeking at the other files of the other Neurobiotic
AIs in the facility...but also the files of the staff and
students. I can understand him wanting to know more about the
other AIs present - they’re his family - but why the files of
the staff and students? If they were as inferior as he says,
then why was their personal information relevant to him?
It’s...very perplexing, to say the least…
I am going to look through N.A.R.I.’s programming again to see
if this may be a type of glitch. Or if he’s really acting on his
own…

We’ve just received the most wonderful news! Because of
N.A.R.I.’s success, we are able to open the facility to the
public! The grand opening will feature a grand tour of the
facility and academy, as well as having the guests interact with
N.A.R.I.! Not only that, but we are now being funded by a
special government agency that specializes in AIs, meaning we
can carry on with the project without worrying about bankruptcy!
We will officially open in two weeks, giving us plenty of time
to prepare for that day. I just hope N.A.R.I. will behave
properly…
