---------------------------------------------------------
Name: Aria Geist
Nickname(s): Ghoul, Mutated Jack-o'-Lanturn
Species: Seedrian [Dead, spirit]
Age: [Unknown]
Affiliate: [Unknown]
Abilities/Powers: Levitation, hypnosis, invisibility, passing
through solid objects.
Weaknesses: Extreme heat or cold
Sexual Orientation: [Unknown]
Basic Information/Bio: Aria Geist, also most commonly known as a
"ghoul," is an odd combination of ghost and plant. Her origin is
relatively unknown other than the fact that she was first
spotted loitering around a pumpkin patch on Hallow's Eve. Since
then, this ghost and plant hybrid been seen wandering around
Mobius, feeding off of anyone she can find.
Aria feeds on the life energy of living beings; to lure her
prey, she sings alluring but eerie songs in hopes of enticing
the curiosity of unfortunate soul and then leads her quarry
astray, where she then absorbs the poor soul's energy until
nothing is left but a shriveled husk of what he/she was once
was. If singing doesn't work, she will sneak up on an
unsuspecting person and uses the extra pair of hairlike arms to
constrict the life out of them, singing or humming gleefully as
she does so. She enjoys the thrill of the hunt and had adapted a
new habit of letting her quarry go and then chasing them down
again like a game of cat-and-mouse. She is often found in
forests, abandoned buildings, hospitals, nursing homes, pumpkin
patches and occasionally graveyards.
Feeding off of the life energy of others isn't the only way for
Aria to obtain nourishment. If she is ever unable to catch or
hold on to a living creature, she will then dig herself herself
within the earth and photosynthesize while absorbing nutrients
within the planet like any other plant. Her "legs" are actually
roots, allowing her to plant herself in any area that has dirt
or soil, and uses the curled quaff on her head as a conduit for
sunlight to allow her to photosynthesize. If you see the curled
quaff sticking from the ground, for the love of God do NOT pull,
step, or kick it!
Her abilities are standard for ghosts; levitation, invisibility,
passing through various solid objects is a given, but she is
able to hypnotize and manipulate others by singing, or if
someone happens to stare into her eyes for too long. She also
summons orange will-o-the-wisps to act as her familiar, carrying
out different tasks she gives them through telepathy and use the
extra pair of hairlike arms to either scratch or throw heavier
objects at others. Since she is technically a ghost, there is no
real way to "kill" her - but since she is also part plant, she
does not take extreme heat or cold well; Heat and fire will
cause her to burn while colder temperatures will put her into a
hibernation-like state until the temperature warms up to a
certain point where she can regain conscious and become mobile
again. If most of or her entire body is destroyed, she had no
choice but to either ingrain herself or go into a coma-like
state to regrow what ever was lost . These are the few known
ways to stop her, even if it's only temporary. This does not
mean she is invincible however; while she can't be killed she
can still be hurt or harmed by regular means.
There's no real way to tell how old Aria really is, though it is
implied she has lived for quite a long time if she was able to
see the first Hallow's Eve.
Peronality: It's not a surprise that Aria is mischievous and
sometimes child-like where she enjoys scaring and playing
various pranks on others. She is also very eccentric and
pretends to have little to no regard for the life of others and
tries to see others as only a food source to seems to make it
appear that she lack empathy. She doesn't bother to engage in
the affairs of others and will stay as far away from
civilization or large gatherings of Mobians as possible, only
entering these establishments when she's hungry.
Aria is not aggressive, but will not hesitate to attack anyone
who comes near if she's hungry enough. If she's full, however,
she will remain passive and not bother you as long as you don't
bother her (if she doesn't feel the need to pull some kind of
prank on you, that is). She does not like fighting and will
often attempt to flee if she senses a conflict; If she is
cornered and is forced to fight, Aria will show no mercy and
will fight to the death until either side falls, and maybe snack
on one or two souls while she's at it. The only time she shows
any true self-restraint or emotions is when she is around
children from the ages of 5-11; If she catches someone abusing a
child in any way, Aria will instantaneously attack and brutally
murder the abuser, and will disappear back from wherever she
came from once the deed is done. If a child is nearby when she's
hungry, Aria will then scare the child/children away to keep
them out of harm's way. Preteens, teens, adults and the elderly
are fair game, however.
Aria doesn't seem to see the point of having any friends or
significant others of any kind, nor does she seem to have any
parents, causing many to wonder just where she came from to
begin with.
Additional/Miscellaneous Info: Aria cannot speak, and relies on
telepathy to communicate with others and her wisps. The only
time she uses her mouth is to sing.
Aria is neither hero or villain and has no interest of choosing
sides. The only time she will join forces with either or is if
there is something for her to gain (i.e. food). Once the goal is
achieved and she is given her due, Aria will then go on about
her business without looking back.
Aria does not need sleep, but is mostly active at night, but can
also walk around during the day.
Aria is known for an odd cackling laugh that is only heard when
she's playing pranks. Amongst the chorus of terrified screams
and shrieks, you will sometimes hear a "Kakakaka!" echoing in
the distance.
The "eyes" on the Jack-o'-Lanturn pattern on Aria's stomach
sometimes act as searchlights during foggy nights. The "face"
also glows when she's full or angry.
Aria has grown a habit of singing or humming while she's out at
night hunting.
While normal foods doesn't give her the proper nourishment
needed, Aria will consume other foods leisurely. She seems to be
quite fond of gummy candy, though. So fond, in fact, that it can
be used as a bargaining chip.
