Ajax smiled as he saw Darkenlight extend his wing slowly; that
was good, he could still move it. It'd probably take about a
week to heal to a more reasonable state, but it'd take a bit
longer for him to fly again. "A brace is a combination of
bandaging and a plate," he explained as he pulled one out. "This
is what we'll use to keep your knee from popping back out of
place for a while; give your muscles some time to get back in
place. I'll be making a cast to cover the joint between your
shoulder and your wing, which is similar but made of tough,
porous materials. That'll help your bone stay aligned and heal
properly." He pulled out some rolled up bandages and a container
with a small amount of liquid medical plaster. Slowly and
gently, he rolled some bandages around the joint, applied a
small amount of the plaster, and repeated until there were a few
layers. It hardened surprisingly quickly, something Dominion
hospitals had perfected for quick use, and soon allowed his wing
to move surprisingly easily. Then, he did the simple task of
wrapping the bandaged brace around his knee, making sure it was
aligned. "There we go... It'll take some time, but your leg and
wing should both heal up just fine," he said with a smile.

Darkenlight poked at the brace, having gotten into a sitting
position. He felt restricted in movement a bit as he had never
had a brace before nor a cast. This was obvious when his wing
closed and seemed to have slight trouble with positioning. His
feathers quivered, trying to settle but having trouble.
This made Darkenlight a tad bit restless, as it wasn't too
comfortable. "My name is Darkenlight," he told Ajax, "Phoenix
       of Eclipses....or rather was."

Ajax nodded, noticing Darkenlight's quivering feathers. He
didn't expect him to be too used to having a cast on, but he
wouldn't need it for long. "Pleasure to meet you, Darkenlight.
Name's Ajax. I will say though, your name seems a little
familiar..." The whispers, the familiar looks, the name; every
second that passed felt like a second done before. Why, he kept
asking himself, why? "So, you're a phoenix, huh? What's the deal
with the whole 'was' added on to the end?"

"I was banished and locked into this form," Darkenlight replied
as he looked at the ceiling, "My own father, banished me for an
accidentally causing....a war" He closed his eyes, the scar
very much visible now, and held the left side of his head.
The tent, that psychotic medic, Ajax coming in, their
conversation, it was all coming back.
       [glow=darkviolet,2,300]"This conversation....we've had it
before....in the tent of that witch...."[/glow] he thought
       aloud.

"We have? Shit, and here I was thinking I was the only one
feeling deja-vu!" He chuckled lightly, thinking lightly of the
subject. He didn't really remember much involving him, but he
was familiar enough; maybe the phoenix could piece together the
puzzle. "I say anything in particular 'last time' we met?"

Darkenlight closed his eyes tighter, more pieces were coming in.
"Strange metal beasts....a dead one....then I healed you
because you'd gained my trust.....I gave you and this
cat....Natasha...a feather as a token of my gratitude....she
gave me a bag to put my fallen feathers in...." he replied as
though he was straining to keep hold of what he was remembering.
It was all starting to fade. "Last thing there is in these
scattered pieces is a meal in Miana....before something about a
Le Gerant..." he finished, a fist clenching at Le Gerant. That
name...why do I hate it so much? he thought as he opened his
       eyes.

Ajax simply sat there for a moment, taking it all in. "Natasha,
my metaphorical sister... Miana, capital of the Dominion... Hot
damn, that's a bit too good to call coincidence... How did I
gain your trust? Killing one of the 'strange metal beasts' I
assume?" He started to recall a few dreams he had a few days
ago. He had been in Miana with Natasha, and... Holy chaos, it
was him that they were with. He leaned back, looking to the
       ceiling for a moment...

"I can not seem to remember, my friend," Darkenlight replied
looking at the ceiling. He didn't know what to do know, but he
felt safe and secure here. His instincts had shut up for now,
but it was all troubling to him. Darkenlight's feathers
quivered again as he tried to recall what might've caused his
       memory to be like this.

"You've got a girl waiting for you... Lovelace, if I'm
remembering right... And that war you started, it was between
the phoenixes and dragons... So your father banished you, and
now you dream of one day being able to go back and be with your
mate... Did I get anything wrong?.." He sat still for a moment,
waiting for Darkenlight's response. Ajax was not one to just go
and trust random dreams like they were visions of divine
clairvoyance, but something about this all fit together too
well. He let out a sigh and closed his eyes.

"You got nothing wrong," Darkenlight replied as he sighed. He
longed for the day that he'd be reunited with her.
