Grocery Shopping Snafu

(basically if food names were literal. i.e: blood oranges,
blood in an orange or eggplant, a plant that is eggs)
A new grocery store had opened up in town, claiming to have a
twist on food. Flyers were all around town, having coupons on
them for things like blood oranges and other food.
Gabriel stared at them and shrugged, grabbing a couple coupons
for blood oranges. With that he headed towards the store,
yawning as it was broad daylight still.

(this, for Tamwyn, is set a week before the events of the
current threads all my characters are in, so you may have him
with a bandage on his neck still [let's just say he got out
early from the hospital])
A sigh came from a hooded hedgehog of around 29, one of which
that was heading to the store right now, with a few coupons for
at least two of everything. He was getting some of it for a
friend, an amber hedgehog, and some of it he was getting for
himself, for he actually needed some actual food. He simply
didn't enjoy hospital food to a full extent, and he didn't wish
to think about it right now.
Of course, he wasn't too talkative to most at the moment, but it
was only because he had not seen a beige cat, his friend Tasha,
in some time since he was in the hospital. His dark brown fur on
his ears, which had their own little openings in the top of his
dark blue hoodie, seemed to look quite soft, but his deep blue
eyes, peeking out from the hood itself, would feel either like
it was piercing one's heart, or softening one's mind. He also
had a small 'bead braid' peeking out from his hoodie; it had
dark brown yarn, and teal and deep blue beads -since if his
hydrokinesis were used, it always came out teal- scattered
within the braided yarn, since this was from the amber hedgehog.
But then again, he was starting to know the amber hedgehog
better, even against his plans to get revenge on said hedgehog's
father, Andrew, whom of which had nearly killed him over 17
years ago by bullet wounds.
Enough of that, he thought to himself, placing the coupons in
the hoodie pockets with his small, dark blue journal he kept
most of the time. I did say I'd get that stuff today, for
Lori...

Gabriel noticed the hedgehog, shrugging as he went into the
small building. He stopped upon getting inside, raising an
eyebrow as he looked around. The phrase "it's bigger on the
inside" most certainly applied here but was an understatement.
There was literally food as far as the eye could see, though
everything looked normal minus certain items having free sample
booths with identical female Mobian weasels at them.
"Night Mother doesn't exactly cover it," Gabriel stated,
deciding to wander around a bit.

(sorry. But the two months that the characters have been in this
Zone isn't supposed to be fully accounted for via canon thread
until the current canon threads here, so this is between
Spotlight and the current canon threads Tamwyn, Rose and Lori
are in, so it isn't canon for Tamwyn fully.)
He was already inside, looking at all of the food in confusion.
"This is so weird... an entire store full of food like this...
and with so many weasels here too... wonder if they're like that
guy Lori said she met twice... but then again, Mobius is meant
to be odd. Now where are those 'blood oranges'...." he said to
himself, lifting his hood off his head to see everything better,
and walking around to search for said food, also looking at
other things and taking at least one or two of it after looking
at what it was and on its respective coupon, and continuing on.
Eventually, he came to an area where there was many different
types of fruits, including the blood oranges. "Ah, there they
are! But Lori said to try them out first after I buy them... and
I said I'd get a few," he muttered, looking at some of the other
fruits and vegetables first, walking around and reading the
labels and such.

anymore today since I am also going to go to my aunt's house

Gabriel had eventually found his way to the blood oranges. He
was about to put some in a bag when one of the weasels tapped
him and the hedgehog on the shoulder. "Excuse me," she said in
a cheer tone, "but you may wish to try a free sample before
buying, we do have a twist on all items with unique names."
Gabriel shrugged and went over to the booth, picking up an
orange.

(well maybe one or two posts since minecraft is laaaaaging)
The weasel had missed his shoulder and accidentally tapped the
neck, which made a light gasp of pain escape him for a moment,
then he turned around in surprise. "Oh... okay, madam. And thank
you for telling me," he said politely, bowing his head before
also coming towards the booth, but distracted by the eggplant
booth, he bumped into the person who happened to be in front of
him, a male bat.
He stumbled for a moment, but shook his head to clear it.
"Sorry.. I didn't mean to bump into you," he apologized, cursing
himself for being somewhat noticed by the weasel, and went to
the bat's right, and got an orange as well, taking a very
careful bite of said orange piece before finding that it
actually wasn't that bad, despite its odd taste.
(aaand now back to Minecraft. Can't have the forum and Minecraft
on at the same time, or it'll lag a lot and make my computer
'pass out' until I either turn Minecraft off, or close the
forum. Also, I am starting over on the Mephiles thing since I
found that sprites are simpler to base off of.)

Gabriel looked at the hedgehog, shrugging as his reply before
biting into the orange. He blinked a few times, recognizing the
taste. With that he sunk his fangs into it, letting the blood
flow into his mouth. After the orange was drained, Gabriel
dropped the empty husk into the trash. He then noticed the
hedgehog bite into a slice, somewhat chuckling at the expression
on the hedgehog's face. "A vampire without fangs, interesting,"
he smirked, revealing the full three inches of his fangs.

"Hmph..?" he asked in surprise, slice still in his mouth for a
moment -it was actually 'Hmm?', but it was slightly muffled.
After throwing the piece away, he started on another, and
halfway through, he stopped, and holding his piece of orange
with a napkin, he told the bat, "Vampire? What are you thinking?
I'm not one of those, you must be mistaken! You might be, but
I'm only a hedgehog that's 29."He again bit into the half-eaten
piece, finished it before getting a sample bag from the weasel,
and put the bag away in the bag full of food he had, facing the
bat, who was smirking with his fangs out. "And my name is
Tamwyn. Tamwyn Realern," he added, bowing his head like he had
with the weasel.
"Also, what is your name?" he added, simply smiling slightly at
the smirk of the bat, who was obviously a vampire himself, and
the dark brown hedgehog didn't mind that. He'd met stranger
people in the army, anyway...

Wasn't long after the two boys went in that an echidna girl and
a Robian echidna walked in. "Well brother, I hope we can get
everything on the list," she said to the Robian, who nodded in
reply. The pair did get some stares as they walked passed a few
booths, getting some whispers from the weasels there. They
walked passed the two boys and stopped at the eggplant booth.
The Robian looked at the two boys as his sister looked at the
samples, trying to figure out what was going on.
[glow=purple,2,300][It's just fruit, what could be funny about
it?][/glow] he thought until his sister squeaked in surprise.
[glow=purple,2,300][Kida, what is wrong?][/glow] he asked,
turning around to face her with a whir and click sounding from
his limbs.
Kida had bitten into one of the samples only to find the twist.
What looked like the remains of a raw egg dripped from her
mouth, she spat it into a trash can. A look of shock on her
face, probably billions of questions running through her mind.

Tamwyn froze upon hearing the Robian's whirring and the echidna
girl, a strange, shocked look upon his face as his free hand
seemed outstretched towards the ground. The water and whatever
liquids the female weasels had in their booths would start
slowly coming out of the cups, and towards where the eggplant
booth -but only at the Robian-, as well as trickles of water
from under the store door, and from the floor from some of the
fruits.
He felt oddly threatened, but he had not seen either the
echidna, nor the Robian, since his back had been turned on both,
and not the bat. Yet he knew that they were there.
(sorry for a weird post, but I really have to get ready for the
thing at my aunt's house now)
