Appearance:
Locked/Banished Form:
A Mobian Hedgehog with dark violet wings with markings that
resemble solar and lunar eclipses. His fur and quills are deep
violet with pale purplish-blue markings. His skin is a pale
tan; upon his cheeks are pale purple markings which seem to
repeat on his shoulders. His eyes are a deep shade of violet
blue, a scar runs from above his right eyebrow to a bit of his
face; though doesn't seem to have blinded his right eye. An
ancient silver collar/neckpiece with bluish gems resides around
his neck accompanied with pauldrons that have similar coloring
that sit on his shoulders and armored boots. Instead of a
normal Hedgehog tail, Darkenlight's tail is feathered like a
bird's tail and matches color with his wings.
True Form:
A huge vulture/buzzard-like dark violet phoenix with markings
on his wings that resemble solar and lunar eclipses with a pale
tan beak with pale purple markings on it. His eyes are a
constant glow of violet blue, no pupil. Upon his head are two
long feathers with two short ones under them. The
collar/neckpiece is the same as the Locked/Banished Form only
huge. His black curved talons are exposed but his legs are
covered in feathers. He has the beginnings of a feathered beard
and his nasal cavity is like a turkey vulture’s.
Personality:
Although his appearance seems dark and foreboding, once you
gain Darkenlight's trust, he's actually an optimistic and
confident ally. His distrusting nature comes from his past of
being betrayed by Ancient Mobian tribes and clans.
Often he is mistaken for being power hungry and the guy always
picking fights just because he enjoys sparing with others to see
if they might be good allies or formidable foes/rivals.
Sometimes he toys with his opponent to see their full strength
before finishing the fight or leaving in the middle. His
optimism is often mistaken for arrogance
Powers/Abilities:
Knowledge of Ancient Mobian tribe/clan languages
Flight (max speed of 250 mph)
Can reach a max speed of 400 mph when in a dive from high in
the air
High Skilled fist-to-fist combat
Chaos Magic (using Chaos energy from himself to produce
multiple attacks, most containing fire such as a large stream of
it from his mouth)
Fast Regeneration (tiny scratches such as paper cuts heal
within 55 seconds but broken bones take as long as five days to
completely heal)
Chaos Signature/Aura Sight (can see the energies of others)
Eclipse Detection (He can sense if an eclipse, lunar or solar
doesn't matter, within a hundred mile radius.)
Eclipse Replenish (basically can replenish his Chaos Energy
reserves during an eclipse.)
Weakness:
Using his Chaos Magic often results in fatigue as the energy
comes from himself rather than external sources since he can't
channel chaos energy of the present era.
Unable to access his true form and full abilities as a
punishment from his father.
Lack of trust in others due to inability to let the past go.
Lack of knowledge from this era tends to cause him to be easily
distracted as he’s naturally curious.
He does not fight well while his feet are on the ground since
his training was for aerial combat and wasn’t given much ground
training.
He can be vulnerable when using Eclipse Replenish as he has
to keep his wings pointed at the eclipse to successfully pull it
off.
Backstory in Short:
Before Banishment:
Darkenlight is Constaladin’s second son and last child, was to
succeed his father in the event that he stepped down or died.
This was placed on him at a young age as his father could sense
a great leader within him. Thus he was taught the same things
his father and grandfather were taught. He loved these little
sessions with his father as he barely got time with him. His
siblings taught him other things like combat and how to have
fun.
When Darkenlight had become big enough to learn how to fly,
his father took him to the cliffs that were above the Pit of
Eternal Death. The young phoenix was confused as he was
instructed to open his wings and look over the edge, which he
did but as he was about to ask why; dear old dad kicked him off
the cliff. Darkenlight let out a startled squawk but started to
flap his wings to avoid death from falling. Out of all the
younglings, Darkenlight mastered flight faster than anyone
before him. This made his father proud and confident that his
choice of a successor was perfect.
During the travels with his mother to the world below,
Darkenlight practiced his leader skills such as keeping everyone
calm and together. “I see your father in you Darkenlight,” his
mother told him one night, “you’ll be a great leader one day, my
little one.” Though Darkenlight was confident in his leadership
skills on the outside, he doubted himself inside. Which drew
his elder sister’s attention, thus a slight conversation between
them began and their sibling bond strengthened.
When they returned home and Gaius taught them about Chaos
Energy, Darkenlight discovered his abilities were connected to
the eclipses. Allowing him to know when they would happen and
become more powerful during them. However when the Ancient
Mobians saw him just before an eclipse, they went to him and he
opened his wings in greeting which the eclipse started just as
he did. Thus they thought he caused it, for a while Darkenlight
went with it as it was a lunar eclipse. One day when he had
enough of their worshipping, he told them off but a solar
eclipse happened. (Talk about bad timing.) This scared them
and well forever marked him as a bad omen when seen during the
day. (Thus Darkenlight invented the facepalm.)
Luckily things were less stressful at home, or at least until
Lovelace tried to find her true love while he was conversing
with his brother Dark-Ness. That ended in the two fighting over
her which forged a rivalry between the brothers. Though as it
turned out that Darkenlight was her true love, which he did have
a crush on her for a while.
Wasn’t long after this fight that Gaius came asking for help
to end the Great War. The only Crystal Phoenix Darkenlight
created was Shadorias, who called him Creator or Master after
his attempt at fighting Discord.
Just when he thinks he has a break, nope apparently his
beloved was on the edge of Celestial Dragon turf. Which he
ended up breaking the treaty between his kind and their kind,
thus banishment was punishment.
After Banishment:
At first, Darkenlight saw out refuge in the tribes and clans
he knew of that loved him. However, things had drastically
changed after the Great War. Now it was all out power for most
of them. And so Darkenlight was seen as a way to show power,
they sat up traps and ambushes to capture him. They’d bind him
with vines and ropes infused with a more refined Chaos Energy
and beat him down until they could grab his feathers. This led
him to not trust anyone and become aggressive towards Blur Clans
(blue hedgehogs) as they were among the main offenders.
Eventually he said enough and hid away until he felt it was safe
enough to come out.
Zone Adventure:
Not long after he came out of hiding, Darkenlight had a little
adventure to a Zone called Spotlight. Here he met people he
could trust, though it wasn’t long until a Blur Clan told him to
leave or else. Thus White Blaze came and grabbed him and his
sister taking them home but only able to completely erase
Lightanis’ memory while leaving some vague memories in
Darkenlight.
Present Day:
He seems to drift from place to place, often found in the
dumpsters behind butcher shops.
Extra:
As disgusting as it sounds, Darkenlight eats rotten meat
primarily. He’s the only known Phoenix to do this; his stomach
acid is strong enough to digest steel so he doesn’t get sick.
(Zombies/Undead Mobians, beware you smell like an
all-you-can-eat-buffet to him.)
When irritated or angry, he tends to snort out a shower of
embers and smoke.
