Belated Harmony: Range of Ranges

[I]"Greeeeat..."[/I]
Getting stuck up a tree shooting at Mysterious figures made out
of blackness wasn't exactly how Fem had intended to be spending
her day, but it seemed like this newfound set of dark skies
wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. Approximately five of the
black particle, metal screech sounding mobians were nearby. One
of them was close to her tree, so if she shot now, it'd find
her.
[I]"Stuck..."[/I] she thought to herself. [I]"Days like this I
just wish a portal would open up and someone would jump out and
help..."[/i] Wild thoughts, but maybe it was about to happen?

Maybe happened, but just without the portal. R was strolling
through the area when she caught sight of the panic and disarray
of mobians.
"What's going on?" she wondered, annoyed by all the shouting and
a screeching sound. Her eyes locked onto one of the dark
figures.
"I really don't have time for this nonsense," she muttered as
she advanced towards the misty figure that was near the tree her
old friend was in. "Hey, why don't you do me a favour and leave
with your little friends before I end up killing someone huh?"
She glared daggers at the figure as she equipped a longsword and
pointed it at it, making it clear that she wanted it gone.

From wasn't sure whether to think of this girl, whoever she was,
as incredibly brave or incredibly stupid to just walk up to a
shadow minion and tell it to begone. She'd seen them earlier,
the figures turned any living being they touched into a
mindless, dark energy created freak of nature like themselves.
Then it struck her mind who it was.
[I]"You always did have a lot of bravery R."[/I] she thought to
herself. The memories she'd suddenly had put forward to her of
this cat, her jumping in from a portal, helping her out with a
cloaked figure, the celebration afterwards, how the two had
became friends of a sort. Was the cat actually unfazed by the
fact that the planet was now in complete darkness and purple
filled the sky? She wouldn't be surprised if the answer was no.
Speaking of this darkness, three of the Shadow Minions were now
surrounding R. The three of them leaping at the Cat, seeing an
opportunity to add another to their overlord's ranks.
Fem remained hidden, shooting off the head of the one at the
back.

It's true the cat wasn't fazed by the darkness of the sky, it
sparked her attention but never enough to make a big deal out of
it. This was her first time coming up close to one of these
black figures, she usually avoided them but today was just a bad
day for her, all the screaming and that horrid screeching sound
the minions gave off. It made her dizzy just thinking about it.
As the shadow figures surrounded her and proceeded to jump at
her, R swung her blade once all around, knocking them back. She
was about to make another strike but heard a bang go off close
to her.
"Hmm...sounds familiar," she pondered as she sliced upwards at
one figure.

The duo's combined efforts of R knocking back the remaining two
and Fem's accuracy, left the Hedgefox plenty of time to ping the
heads off both of the remaining Shadow Minions, [I]"Too
Slow!"[/I] she called as the last of the three was hit and the
head was pinned to another one of the trees. The purple hue in
the sky meaning that she could lightly see the Cat. Jumping down
from the tree she landed by her other self's friend. [I]"R."[/I]
she said to her. [I]"Thanks for the save right there. Had one of
them way too close to the tree to hit."[/I] she let out a bit of
a laugh. [I]"Heh. Just like old times right? You get those that
get close and I get those at a distance."[/I] she then let out a
puff of air and shook her head. [I]"I don't suppose you know
anything more on why we've got this sudden darkness and these
creatures of it running around have you?"[/I] she asked the cat.

"Nice shot," the cat said as she looked at the head that was now
to pinned to a tree. She turned to face the blue hedgefox,
knowing it wouldn't be anyone else but her friend she had first
met awhile back.
"Madness. It's been awhile," she said with a slight smile. R
nodded as she mentioned the old times, it was a good
combination, one for the far and one for the short ranges.
She frowned. "Clueless. I hoped it would go after awhile, like a
cold or something, but I guess that's not going to happen."
She looked up at the dark sky. "There has to be a source of
where all these things are coming from right? If we, or someone
else can find the source and stop it, then all this should
cease. Or maybe this is all just some phase that will pass
eventually?"

rang out, full of sarcasm, and Fem raised her rifle, looking for
who it was. [glow=grey,2,300][I]"You're an idiot 'Fem
Madness'."[/I][/glow] came the voice again.
[glow=grey,2,300][I]"Your heart would already be sliced through
by my sword if we weren't in the same boat right
now."[/I][/glow] and at this point, the almost all black Panther
stepped out and revealed where she was. Her usual 'unamused'
frown on her face. Fem's rifle going straight to her when she
stepped out didn't amuse her. [glow=grey,2,300][I]"Sure, finish
me off. It'd actually set Tashie into a bit of a panic and be...
Amusing... But you'll see the whole planet forever
doomed."[/i][/glow] she pointed out. [glow=grey,2,300][I]"Not to
mention, your own free wills wiped out and you become what they
are."[/I][/glow] Luna would point to one of the headless corpses
of one of the Shadow Minions before turning her attention to R.
[glow=grey,2,300][I]"Let me guess. Team Madness' answer to
swordplay?"[/I][/glow]
[I]"No, a friend of mine."[/I] Fem was trying not to grit her
teeth in irritation. Luna wasn't easy to get along with, at all.
[I]"And hasn't met either of the boys yet-"[/I]
[glow=grey,2,300][I]"So Tashie doesn't need to know about her,
whatever. What's your name kid?"[/I][/glow] she asked the cat.
[glow=grey,2,300][I]"Or more of, what should I call you to
accompany 'behind you' when one of the minions is about to turn
you into one of them from behind? I imagine you wouldn't like
'rookie' after all..."[/I][/glow]

Quickly stepping back from the sarcastic voice, R braced herself
for whatever was coming. She kept her longsword in a neutral
position but was ready to slash upwards at any moment. As the
panther showed herself, R instantly gathered her thoughts on who
she might be, or if she was an ally or an enemy. She seemed to
know the hedgefox, but not exactly in a great 'friends' way. But
would that still make her an ally?
"You can call me R," she said, showing no signs of emotion, only
her tail possibly being a tad bit too still. "And your name is?"

with me at that point i'll gladly take your head off..."[/I]
[I]"Tashie's little fangirling over Madness needs to stand aside
today Luna."[/I] Fem pointed out. The panther responding with an
irritated growl. [glow=grey,2,300][I]"I'm aware of this!...
Look, the rest of the Faction are [B]probably[/B] heading
towards the power source right now. Mobotropolis. And i'm the
only one who doesn't know where that is because it-"[/I][/glow]
[I]"Because it's a dark energy source and you live off of that
stuff, Easy guess. What are we looking for?"[/I] She asked her.
[glow=grey,2,300][I]"The rest of my team obviously bullets for
brains..."[/I] Luna snapped. [glow=grey,2,300][I]"Because they
know where the Dark Mine is!"[/I][/glow] Luna's eyes strayed
over to the longsword causing her to let out a low growl, her
eyes turning into glowing black ones. Other sword users tended
to anger her. [glow=grey,2,300][I]"Pray you don't cross me again
with your sword out..."[/I][/glow] she said before her muzzle
turned to black, causing her to disappear into the darkness.
Fem was thinking it over as Luna disappeared. [I]"Dark Mine...
Hey R, what's your take on this?"[/I] she asked her cat friend.
[I]"Maybe we should head for Mobotropolis?"[/I]

"Hmph. No use in praying for that," the cat muttered as she
gripped her sword tighter. She always preferred to have one of
her swords equipped so if anything decided to jump out she would
be ready. R turned to face the hedgefox after the panther
disappeared.
"Hmm...Perhaps we should, no use in standing here doing nothing
right? Besides, I want to get to the bottom of this mayhem."
