Like Mother, Like Daughter

Natasha hummed quietly to herself as she sat outside a bedroom
door; her daughter, her sweet sweet daughter... Today, they were
going to spend some time together, time they rarely had. She had
just had her birthday a few days ago, and Natasha was the
proudest mother alive.

A few days ago, the young hedgehog had accidentally been brought
here by Warp Ring (and she blamed Tashie for it), and on her
birthday when she had gotten upset at her father for telling her
something she hadn't wished to hear at 14 years old. However,
while upset, she had found her way to the castle, finding that
upon meeting the past version of her mother, things had felt a
lot better, and she had an actual celebration for her birthday,
as well as a long talk of things..
She'd been here for a few days now, and she was happier than
ever. She missed her father, known still as Shadow, but she
still wanted to spend the time she never got with her mother,
Natasha. And when she opened the door, hearing the humming of
her beloved mother, she came out with her white, light orange,
and blue boots, along with a lovely-looking summer dress she
chose for the day that was frilled on the bottom, and lovely
shades of orange, yellow, and light red (not pink, as she didn't
really like the color that much), along with her clinohumite
necklace, and her hair tied up as best as best she could put it.
"Morning, Mother.. How are you doing today so far?" Opaline
asked, laughing softly as she walked out of the room fully, and
closed the door.

The feline smiled and stood, taking Opaline's hand and pulling
into her loving embrace. "Wonderfully, dear; I'll admit, it is
strange being with my daughter from the future, but... It
doesn't change the fact that you're my wonderful, sweet
daughter." Gently she kissed the hedgehog's forehead before
softly setting her hand on her daughter's cheek. "And just look
at you in that dress; you really do dress like me, huh?" Lightly
she giggled, setting Opaline down on her knee and tickling her
chin a little like the silly woman she was.

"Aw, Mom..." she said, blushing a little as she was hugged and
all that, but loving that anyway as she laughed softly in
return. "But anyways, Mother, what were we going to do today...?
I can't remember what we planned to do together," she added,
rubbing her hair lightly with one hand as she stood up again,
and stretched her arms for a moment, her turquoise eyes
sparkling like the sun outside as she looked at her mother
before starting to walk down the hallway slowly.

Natasha smiled and walked along side Opaline calming, simply
shrugging at the question. "Who needs a plan? Is it odd for us
to simply enjoy a day together?" To be honest, the feline had
not thought about what they were doing; if they had planned
something, she had forgotten it long ago. "In truth, I simply
wish to get to know you better, Opal; I mean... You are my
daughter, after all!"

"Hehe.. Alright, if that's what you wish to do... I guess one of
the things I enjoy is playing the violin, or at least trying
to.. Do you have someplace in the castle for instruments? My
father liked to play the violin, and liked classical and
orchestral music in general," Opaline said, deep in thought as
her mother walked alongside her, her ears waving around lightly
in anticipation.

The feline nodded, "There is a room in one of the towers where
you could play... It's funny, I used to enjoy playing the cello;
perhaps we could play together?" That was a fun idea, she
thought, a mother and her beloved daughter playing instruments
together. There were many things she was curious about, and this
perhaps was the day she would get most of her answers from
Opaline herself.

She softly smiled at what Natasha said; her father had said
something about Natasha liking the cello.. "Yes... that's an
excellent idea, mom! I'd be happy to show you how well I've been
practicing.. Dad's been teaching me, hehe.. Future version."
With that, she walked a little faster, a small but cute blush
and a grin on her face as she lightly pulled her mother along,
having a feeling just which tower it may have been for where the
cello and violin were.. She turned towards the north tower (or
at least near it as she could tell by how this area was built),
still gently pulling her mother along.

Natasha giggled as she was pulled along by her daughter towards
the north tower. She was happy to know that eventually, she
would bring this loving child into the world, and although she
wasn't sure who the father was, she did have a very sound guess.
As they reached the top of the tower, sure enough, a exquisite
cello and violin lay in the corner of the room, their lacquer
shining in the sunlight that passed through the window. The
feline smiled and went to one of the desks and pulled out a set
of sheet music, looking through the pieces to see what they
could play.

When they got to the northern tower, Opaline's turquoise eyes
brightened and a smile came over her face, and almost as soon as
she came to the violin, she alone began a little something to
practice before her mother found a music piece..*

After a little bit, Natasha would find some sheet music with a
small signature in Shadow the Hedgehog's handwriting, and the
music would be titled 'Polaroid (Instrumental for Cello and
Violin)'.
