Her Favorite Animal Friends

Natasha was anxiously preparing herself for today; she had been
giving her friends lots of gifts, so how could she leave out her
favorite speedy blue hedgehog girl? Sapphire had been a truly
wonderful friend and the queen felt she deserved everything she
could give her, even if she hadn't really done much to help
defend the castle. Being able to wake up with a smile on her
face because of her was more than enough of a reason, in the
felines opinion.
She tied her lavish boots on and put on her belt, holding the
soft fabric of her white jacket close to her belly for a moment
like a teddy bear; it had been a long time since she had put on
her old outfit, but she had luckily gotten it tailored for her
much larger girth before hand. The addition of a new pair of
boots, exquisite gloves, and some patterns added to her tunic
kind of took away from the nostalgia, but it was her old outfit
alright. Either way, it brought back found memories, like how
she had first met Sapph; who knew that the little blue girl in
that hospital bed long ago would become one of her dearest
friends, a daughter she wish she had.
As the stepped out of her quarters with a strut and a jiggle,
always with that flabby jiggle of hers, she went off to meet
with Sapphire, whom she had sent a note beforehand.

Sapphire had stayed at the Queen's castle, and was still, seeing
as she still had no home back at this time and Natasha said her
friends where more then welcome to stay, in turn, Sapphire did
her best to act well mannered, polite to everyone (including
Robin whenever he was around, crazy I know), and took as little
as she could from the castle's services like foods, she didn't
need much anyway, she was a little hedgehog! The only thing that
really needed the fuel from food was her fast feet.
Sapphire had also gone to the extent to dress a little more
'formal' then what she would normally, wether it be a simple
addition of a bright cyan bow in her hair, or a full on new
outfit changed depending on her mood and the day.
Today she was wearing her usual outfit still, but she had a
bigger sized ribbon bow in her hair on top of her head as well
as small coloured hair clips throughout her blue hair, seven of
the clips where shaped and coloured just like the chaos
emeralds, the rest where little golden rings. Her wrist
bracelets had been set to a bright gold colour, and she now had
at attachable golden emerald buttons on the front of her boots.
To finish it all off she had a second ribbon that tied around
her waist and made a colourful rainbow of a bow at her back. But
though all that she was still wearing her original outfit.
Sapphire at first speed-ran to where Natasha said to meet, but
en remembered she was in a castle with fragile furniture and
that it was Natasha's home, so she stopped and began to walk
like a normal mobian would, her hands, eyes or legs twitching
half the time because she wasn't used to just... Walking.
It took her a little while because she didn't like the simple
walking part she eventually met up with Natasha, whom she ran
straight up to and hugged, "Natasha!" She grinned happily after
releasing her from the hug, "You wanted me for something?".

Natasha giggled and hugged Sapphire back with a kiss on her
forehead, smiling. "Hello, my dear Sapphire; I did indeed want
to see you. There is something I wanted to show you; a little
gift of sorts!" Happily she picked the young hedgehog up,
sitting her on her shoulders and holding her arms gently as she
laughed. "You don't mind a little piggyback ride to get there,
do you?"

Sapphire put her hands behind her back as Natasha kissed her
forehead with a smile, "A gift sounds way past Natasha! You
didn't have to! Being allowed to stay in your castle and around
you is a gift in itself" She smiled.
The hedgehog gave a cheerful laugh as she was picked up and
placed on Natasha's shoulders, "I don't mind at all! Weeee!" She
giggled, holding onto Natasha, before clapping her hands
excitedly.

"Off we go then, my little munchkin!" Natasha tittered as she
started off towards the forests behind the castle. "This is kind
of special, since it's more than just a gift... Although, the
reason behind it is not so joyful..." The feline paused as she
walked on, her tail reaching up and cushioning Sapphire from
behind. "You remember those horrible separatists, right? The
ones who tried to hurt all of us? Well... They made a habit of
destroying the lands, clear chopping forests and burning the
stumps; they didn't even replant them!" She smiled as she
finally looked up to Sapphire's face. "So while the forests are
replanted... I decided to designate a little wildlife preserve;
and guess who gets a nice big treehouse to live with the animals
in!"

Sapphire listened silently as Natasha spoke, resting her head
against Natasha's when she brought up the part about the
separatists destroying the wildlife and trees, her smile
dropping, ears flat and sad look on the young hedgehogs face,
"The poor animals who would've lost their lives and homes..."
She said softly, rubbing her eyes and looking at Natasha as she
smiled at Sapphire. She managed a smile hearing Natasha had
thought about the animals too as she had made a preserve just
for the animals and had also made a big treehouse in it, her
smile returned and she brushed some of her hair away, "You
didn't!" She wiggled her feet, throws her hands in the air, "Do
I get it!? Natahsa, that so nice! I don't know what to say! I
hope the animals will like having me around!" Someone was
excited.
"Can we meet them! Can we meet them? Can we, can we?"

Natasha simply giggled at Sapphire's excitement, poking her
tummy teasingly; "That's where we're headed, pumpkin!" The
forests, which now had become surprisingly dense, teemed with
small animals that would quickly appear for a glance at the two
before scurrying away. Some would come closer than others,
curious as to who this new person was; they were familiar with
the queen, but not Sapphire.
Soon they were at the spot; a small clearing that gave them a
view of the tallest tree in the forest, a quaint little
treehouse in its canopy; well, not necessarily little, it was
quite large in fact and some rooms were bridged across the other
trees. Still, it was beautifully built, perfectly intertwined
with the tree that cradled it so gently. A few rabbits frolicked
around the roots, and a family of owls were perched amongst the
branches. "Here we are, Sapphire; a wonderful treehouse for a
wonderful girl."

Sapphire's mouth was in the shape of an 'o' when they reached
the thicker forests, spotting some of the small critters appear
and the scurry off as quickly as they could, she put her hands
over her mouth and giggled excitedly, she couldn't wait to meet
them all!
When they reached the small clearing, Sapphire looked up at the
treehouse, her jaw dropping and her feet twitching with
excitement and joy, "This is for me?" She bounced off of
Natasha's back and bounced around the base of the tree, making
sure not to scare the rabbits that where hanging around the
great trees roots, "I'm so happy! Thank you Tasha!" She squealed
excitedly, giving her another hug before running this way and
that, not sure what to do first exactly.
Climb the tree house and check it out? Meet some of the animals
on the ground? Meet the birds higher up perhaps? There was so
much to do!

With all her bouncing, Sapphire did seem to scare some of the
animals slightly at first, but eventually they calmed down and
approached her curiously, squeaks and chirps filling the air.
The family of owls swooped down to join the curiosities, and a
few snakes slithered their way up as well. Natasha simply
giggled and hugged Sapphire from behind before sitting down a
with them, smiling. "It looks like they're eager to meet you,
Sapph!"
