Infamous Ancient Ruins

Natasha looked to the entrance of the ancient ruins, massive and
tunneling into the ground for miles. Anyone who went in was said
to have disappeared, although rumors spread that their
'disappearances' weren't exactly normal. Strange things were
said to happen inside, and that is why she stood at the entrance
now. "So... Whaddya think, Ajax?"
Ajax simply stood beside her, arms crossed and supplies strapped
to him. "I think we're in for an adventure, Tasha..." He had
heard the rumors too, although he hardly believed them; fear was
a powerful thing, and it could mess with peoples' minds. The
rumors could be baseless... Or not. Who knew?

"I think we're in for more than an adventure, Ajax," came the
voice of an old batty friend. However where was he exactly?
Well the answer came quickly as the vampire bat swing down from
his perch just in the doorway of the entrance. His wings were
open, stretching to the floor of the entrance as he yawned. Had
he been sleeping upside down as he waited for them or was it
just because it was daylight? Either way, he used his wings as
arms to balance as he righted himself.

The halfling walks over to them, smiling. He heard about the
ruin and thought it'd be a chance to find some rare materials
for his forge. So he decided to rush over and meet with the
others to help explore.

"Been waiting for us for a while, Gabe?" The lynx smiled as his
vampire friend swooped down beside them. "Well, call this little
excursion whatever you want; it'll be a thing to remember,
regardless." Ajax slowly began rechecking all of his supplies
and such. Daggers, check; provisions, check; lights, check;
medicine, check. Everything was in order, and he was ready to
jump headlong in.
Natasha smiled back to Louis as she noticed him appear beside
them; "Taking a break from the forge, eh my dear blacksmith?"
She had a feeling as to why he had appeared; rare materials
could be found anywhere if you looked hard enough. Who knew,
maybe there were ancient weapons in the ruins and he could smelt
them down or recreate them?

"But of course, my queen. I still enjoy exploring a lot, and I
figured this could be an opportunity to find materials for
better weapons and armor. Plus, I felt like getting out for a
while." He smiles and spins his Chaos Flame blade a bit.

"My name is Gabriel please do not call me by any other name," he
frowned as he closed his wings. Was it just the light or did
his black markings seem to be slightly more mixed into his dark
grey? Gabriel crossed his arms as he looked at the halfling,
his blood red eyes glistened in the light.

"Ah, yes; Gabriel, eheheh. Sorry, I like to shorten names. Like
mine for instance." Ajax rubbed the back of his head, a nervous
blush on his cheeks; Gabriel had never really be upset with him
before, so this was new.
"Gabe, Gabriel; it's all the same, you know that," Natasha said
as she leaned in and poked him teasingly. Giggles aside, she
looked to the entrance of the ruin and took a deep breath.
"Well, I suppose we should head in, yeah?"

The bat turned around, hands behind his back. "I've already
been inside but not far just this entrance," he stated, his
voice seemed strangely cold. Without another word, he went
inside.

Natasha paused for a moment as she heard Gabriel's tone. "Wonder
what's gotten into him?" she asked before following shortly
behind. Ajax quickly stepped inside as well, sighing a little;
if this was all over him just calling him 'Gabe', then he was
really going overboard.
Inside, the ruins were strange; glyphs lined all the walls, some
of which glowed odd hues as they passed by. "Wonder what these
all mean," Ajax murmured as he looked to some, the path
splitting off into two; although, one had a light at the end of
it. In her infinite curiosity, Natasha chose to go that way;
light was always good, right?
