Natasha crossed her hands and huffed a little. "How could I live
with myself if I didn't repay you for all you've done? And
besides... You need a place you can rest safely in." She walked
       about the room for a moment, glancing about at the windows;
then, her ears twitched. Even from several meters away, she
could hear Darkenlight's stomach growling. With the comment he
made on it, she couldn't help but chuckle. "Or, you could just
eat and drink, you know." She spun about with her arms out,
giggling; "I mean, don't you see the literal mounds of food here
for you? Why not drink some mead, eat some meat, and just enjoy
yourself?" She had learned of his 'true form', so she somewhat
understood his frustration; that's why she had made sure he had
plenty of food. She would never let a friend of her's go hungry.

Darkenlight shrugged, deciding to do as Tasha suggested. With
that he opened his wings and glided to one of the barrels of
mead. He saw what looked like a strange goblet beside it, it
was completely see through, like the invisible wall on the
windows. The violet Phoenix picked up this strange thing and
tilted his head to the side, turning it around as he studied it.
It slipped from his fingers, smashing on the floor, and
scattering pieces of the material in multiple directions. A
curious and startled chirp came from the depths of the young
Phoenix's throat as he bent down to pick up the material. If
given the time, he'd put this thing back together perfectly.
However his stomach growled once more, demanding nourishment
this instant or very bad things of pain would ensue.
Darkenlight sighed and snatched a handful of carrion from a
nearby mound, munching on it as he attempted to put
this...whatever it was back together. The mead having gone to
       the back of his mind.

Natasha walked up beside the phoenix and sat next to him,
       gathering up a few of the pieces herself. She sighed a little;
"Probably should have reminded them to give you a metal chalice,
and not a glass one." Oh well, there were plenty of bottles of
mead for him to drink while they got him a new one. It would be
a while before the phoenix would have to bother with goblets and
chalices. "I suppose I can leave the pieces with you so to put
back together, with how interested you seemed in its design.
I'll go get a metal goblet for you to use in the meantime..."
For the moment, she left the room, leaving the phoenix to his
       carrion and broken glass.

Darkenlight didn't seem to respond to Natasha, his focus on the
'chalice' shards. If he found ones that went together, he'd
swallow his carrion before expelling a small flame and wield
them together. It would amaze most if they came to check on
him, since he was putting it back together with a great deal of
precision. You know those tiny shards that are so tiny it's
impossible to put them in the correct place? The young phoenix
was able to find where they broke off from and wield it in
place. Mind you to Darkenlight these actions took hours when
they were actually minutes. He was eating that mound of carrion
while doing this, taking occasional breaks to find a bottle of
       mead to down.
Yet with his mind focused on the puzzle, the alcohol wasn't
effecting him as much as it did that one day. Most likely by
the time that metal chalice would be fetched, the glass one
       would be nearly done.

It had indeed only been a few minutes when Natasha returned with
a metal goblet in hand, but she was baffled by how much progress
Darkenlight had made on fixing the chalice. Someone with that
kind of precision was not commonly found. As she walked up
beside him, she inspected it with intrigue, her tail swishing
about harmlessly. It was almost completely repaired. "Quite the
       talent you've got there, dear..."

"Hmm? Oh this is nothing special really..." Darkenlight replied
as he looked around for the final two pieces. Upon finding them
he moved them around until they matched, which two everyone else
looked like he knew how they fit in the first place. He wielded
them carefully together before placing them on the chalice and
finishing the repair. In truth, the chalice looked like nothing
had ever happened. "Just a hobby," he replied as he handed the
       chalice to Natasha.
With that he flew off to grab another chunk of carrion and
bottle of mead, to him this was nothing to brag about.

"Fair enough," Natasha replied in a relaxed tone; at least
Darkenlight wasn't doing something incredibly difficult for him.
She sat down on a stool and simply watched the phoenix for a
moment, enjoying his company. "By the way, I noticed something
when we were at the theatre..." She looked to the mead, then to
his stomach, then back to his face. "Does alcohol slow your
metabolism drastically? Because when you were there, you...
developed quite the 'beer belly'." Those last two words made her
giggle a little, but it did intrigue her. He seemed to enjoy the
drink, and it was the one thing that seemed to physically affect
his body; perhaps she could figure out more about how he
worked... or at least make him a plushy pillow every now and
       then.

"I have a blank spot after that dragon, that I'd still like to
slay for trying to turn Dawn against us disappeared, in my
memory," Darkenlight answered as he got to a perch, taking a
chunk of carrion from the nearby mound and scarfing it down. He
flicked something from his shoulder before continuing, "it is
possible that the alcoholic properties in the mead do not mix
well with my stomach acid, thus causing digestion to slow down
until it clears out. As to my metabolism, it is possible that
the part of my brain that controls that is slowed due to
       drunkenness."
The young Phoenix was now flying around the room; looking at the
       finer details of everything.

Natasha smiled somewhat as she watched the phoenix fly about; at
least he seemed to be enjoying the details in the room, the
massive scale of it. Still, she wondered what was going on in
his mind as he went about, inspecting every little detail. He
normally did not seem like one who would be so particular about
such things, but it mattered not to her; as long as he was
happy. However, her ears still twitched, as she knew how is
appetite translated to his 'mobian' form, and yet he wasn't
eating or drinking at all; was he just trying to be polite or
something? "So, does this room fit your tastes for a roost?"

"Perfectly," he responded as he landed next to her. Darkenlight
gently took the metal chalice and filled it with the mead,
drinking it shortly after. There was a reason that Tasha
thought this young Phoenix wasn't one to be this particular
about fine details; she hadn't really gotten to see him be
himself. And he had no reason to hide this side from her, he
       trusted her.
