Description: She is a reddish-orange hedgehog with pink eyes
outlined by thick black eyelashes and highlights (kinda like
Silver’s), white chest fur, three distinguished quills towards
the front of her face (on large one on her forehead with two
smaller ones on either side of her face), and wears a high
ponytail tied with a black hair tie. She wears a black tank top,
sienna rolled up Bermudas with a pair of black-striped white
belts that crisscross one another, and brown umber hiking boots
with black socks that go up right underneath her knees. She has
white gloves with a black band that goes around her cuffs, and
brown umber/cloud grey goggles with pink transparent lens that
wraps around and under her head.

Special Attacks & Abilities: Standard combat skills & parkour,
Super Strength, Super Whiplash, Spiked Whip Tornado, Piko-Piko
Hammer Throw (teamed with Amy Rose), Boomerang Punch (teamed
with Knuckles), etc.
Items & Weapons: Kate uses her whip to swing from branches,
poles, and other long objects for saving her life and sometimes
transportation purposes. She also uses it to stab into robots
and enemies before using her super strength to throw them around
and cause damage. It also allows her to imitate some moves that
could be considered as parkour.
Hobbies & Talents: Kate loves to travel the world, climb
mountains, and attempt almost anything that has a reputation of
being dangerous or impossible. She is athletic and physically
flexible, and likes to flaunt a little when she wins a battle or
duel—especially if she goes against someone of the male sex.
Personality: Kate is very independent, loves competition, and
often feels that she has the obligation to do everything
herself. That is...until she meets Amy, Sonic, and the rest of
the gang. After that, she became much more sociable, cheerful,
and benevolent—yet also keeping her independent roots. She
always tries new things (such as food) and loves the prospect of
danger. Because of this, she tends to be impulsive. She also
tends to get a little overprotective when it comes to her
closest friend, Amy Rose, and gets a little hotheaded—especially
when it comes to losing, giving up during a battle, not being
able to disprove something that seems impossible or too
dangerous, and those who openly bash on feminism. More here:

Weaknesses: Although she always loves a physical challenge,
whenever she exerts herself way past her physical limit, she
tends to feel weak and even faints on occasion (this is due to
her light asthma condition, which obviously causes her to wheeze
when she over works herself). Despite being seemingly fearless,
she indeed has apiphobia (Fear of bees) and spheksophobia (Fear
of wasps). She also fears of going through what her life was
destined to be before she left her village, the very cause of
her having PTSD and, as a result, some minor heart problems
(which would also explain the weakness after going over her
limit).
Friends: Kate once had a childhood friend named Shyla the Wolf
and twin hedgehogs, Zig and Zag, with whom she had complicated
relationships with (they teased/bullied her and yet challenged
her to do everything as well as they can, kind of like
encouragement). She later meets Amy Rose, who happens to have
same middle name as she does, and she becomes her closest and
fastest known friend after the events in Kate’s back-story (She
also assists her in learning how to act around Sonic so that he
doesn’t run away from her anymore.). She then meets Sonic, whom,
despite having some personality traits that are similar, she
convinces herself to “hate” him because he acts rudely towards
Amy without really giving her a chance to court him…only to
develop some hidden feelings for him herself. However, she does
take a friendly liking to his adopted brother, Tails, since he
is really smart and respectful of others. Knuckles and she,
since they both have strength abilities, are both rivals and
friends. During a battle against Eggman, she crosses paths with
Shadow and later develops a high respect for him. Others
(including Rouge and Cream) she interacts with on occasion.

Skunk (meets later)
Enemies: Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik (duh!), and Scorpio the Viper
(introduced in Kate’s past)

Miscellaneous Trivia: Kate helps her current closest friend,
Amy, to win Sonic’s heart by teaching her how to act so that he
wouldn’t run away from her (as often). Even though Kate tries to
convince herself to openly hate Sonic, she develops some
feelings for him herself…but she refuses to come in the way of
Amy’s pursuit for him, and, later, her fondness for him softens
into a platonic connection. Therefore, she tends to act a little
mean sometimes around Sonic in order to make him back off from
herself and direct him back to Amy. She also enjoys going
against Knuckles in strength competitions, including arm
wrestling and hammer throwing. She sometimes also likes briefly
talking to Shadow about some things in their past. Rouge also
regularly enjoys making Kate uncomfortable by trying to teach
her how to flirt with guys.

Backstory: Kate was born into a village in the mountains in a
generally unknown region of Mobius, a village where technology
was not as developed as other parts of the world and where
morals were old-fashioned. In fact, they were so outdated that
men were believed to be the dominant gender to do all of the
important business (such as gathering food, working, discussing
village matters, etc.) while all the women were kept at home as
housewives and looked down upon as worthless unless they were
bearing children—particularly baby boys. Not only that, but the
girls were also predestined to have an arranged marriage once
they turned as young as 13-years-old…and a suitor chosen years
even before then. Kate, seeing all the abuse her own mother was
going through, and learning of other girls’ fates—such as her
own—were to be, started to rebel against the ghastly life which
was planned for her, never knowing that there was more to the
world than she knew.
One day, when Kate was 10-years-old, a wounded young stranger
came through the village and, seeing that he needed some food
and shelter for the time being, Kate’s mother, Rochelle, took
him in and they cared for him while hiding him from Kate’s
father, Lionel, since the men of the village don’t particularly
take to visitors. Kate took care of the 7-year-old stranger as
he told her tales of his adventure through six zones in pursuit
of a certain evil man to save his friends. Every day for a week,
she fed and cared for his wounds as she listened to his stories,
and she grew more fascinated and eager to leave her village to
accompany him. At the end of the week, when he was well enough
to leave, she begged the young boy to take her with him but he
encouraged her to stay a while longer to care for her mother.
Kate was devastated after he left, but did as she was advised
and stayed at home.
Two years later, Kate’s mother was abused so much that she did
not make it that time, causing the tragedy of the only person
who has ever shown love for her. Unable to stand up for her
mother or herself at the time, the young orange hedgehog began
training herself to become experienced in self-defense and in
hand-to-hand combat in secret, and commenced planning a way to
escape from there and save the other girls as well.
When she was twelve, her father chose a suitor for an arranged
marriage that was going to occur when she turned 13-years-old.
His name was Scorpio the Viper, one of the rudest, most obsessed
males there was in the village...or so it seemed. Before then,
Kate tried convincing the other girls, especially her childhood
friend, Shyla, to escape with her. However, since they didn’t
know any other way of living, they grew scared and declined the
offer time and time again. Once it was time for Kate’s marriage
to commence, she snuck into the house, took one of her father's
whips, and escaped out the backdoor, never attending the
arranged marriage ceremony and leaving Scorpio furious…
Now 18-years-old, Kate was as free as anyone could be, now
having a bit of a c,ockiness in the way she rolls through life,
trying to prove that females were just as capable as males are
in various of situations—especially when it came to physical
activities. Yet, she also becomes deadly serious when it came to
those who thought that females were useless and weak. Due to
certain events that involved saving a couple of little girls
from predators, Kate fought alongside Amy Rose against the men,
both furious of the situation the children were in. Once the
frightened men ran off after a death threat from Kate, the two
were finally able to introduce themselves, discovering that they
both possessed the same middle name. Delighted, Amy insisted
that they should become best friends and urged the orange
hedgehog to accompany her to meet the rest of the gang. After
being dragged along, she does indeed meet others including
Tails, Knuckles, Cream, and Cheese. Meeting Knuckles became more
interesting once Kate mentioned not-so-offhandedly that she had
the Ability of Strength, which interested him since no other
girl had that particular ability. This caused Knuckles to
challenge her to a competition of strength sometime...which Kate
more than eagerly agreed to. It was not until Amy introduced her
to Sonic that she swore she recognized him from somewhere long
ago…
