Combat and Experience System

As we all know, some characters are gonna end up fighting at
some point. So, the big question is, how do they fight?
Well, first thing I want to get out of the way is that the
combat rules do not need to be used at all times - they are for
when two 'players' refuse to be sensible (you're not ripping
peoples arms off, guys) and for boss fights. Now that that's out
of the way, let's get started.
---------------------------------------------------------
First off, everyone starts with 100 HP. As characters level up
through combat and events, this will increase by 10 per level.
50 is a good starting point that gives the lower level character
a chance to still win, unless you're going against someone with
1000 HP and you only have 100.
Second, every character will have two very simple stats for
combat; Attack and Defense. These will start at 10, and every
level will increase both by a number between 1 and 5, which will
be determined by 5 sided dice roll. You must have an admin or
moderator do this roll for you; this is to ensure you actually
use a roll, instead of just saying you got 5 every time. Attack
and Defense will determine just how much damage is done by a
successful attack, and we'll go into that more later on.
These three stats (HP, Attack, and Defense) will make up a large
portion of the combat.
---------------------------------------------------------
When making an attack, two dice rolls will be made; one for the
'attacker', and one for the 'defender'. The roll will be done
between numbers 1 and 6, the standard dice setup. When the two
rolls are made, if the attacker's roll is higher than the
defender's roll, then their attack is successful. From here, the
difference between the two rolled numbers will be multiplied by
the Attack stat of the attacker, and half of the defender's
Defense stat will be subtracted from it.
Let's pretend that Ajax and Kida got in a fight, and were both
level 1, which puts both of their stats at the default of 100
HP, 10 Attack, and 10 Defense. If Ajax rolled 5, and Kida rolled
3, Ajax's attack would be successful. The difference, which in
this example would be 2, would then be multiplied by Ajax's
Attack stat of 10 (to get 20), and then half of Kida's Defense
stat would be subtracted (to get 15). Thus, in this example,
Ajax would deal 15 damage to Kida. Kida would then have 85 HP,
and it would be her turn to attack.
Now let's say Ajax rolled a 3 or lower; since Ajax's roll would
not be higher than Kida's, his attack would miss or be blocked.
In this instance, no damage would be dealt, and it would be
Kida's turn to attack.
During Series, Mini-Series, and Special Events, the person in
charge of the series or event will determine the HP of the NPCs
and 'Bosses' (within reason). This will also apply to Collision
Event NPCs.
To make sure there is legitimacy in the rolls used, they must be
done by a Moderator or myself; we will also have proof of the
dice roll via screenshot if questioned.
---------------------------------------------------------
After each fight, the participating characters will then be
rewarded with experience (EXP). A 20 sided die will be rolled to
determine the experience given; the winner will receive the full
amount, and the loser will receive half of it (rounded up). At
the end of the example fight between Ajax and Kida, let's say
Kida wins and the 20 sided die rolls a 17; Kida would receive 17
EXP, and Ajax would receive 9 EXP. This experience reward will
be given regardless of whether or not the combat system is used,
but not in 'What If' threads. The amount of experience needed to
level up will be dependent on the characters' levels, and you
must tell an Moderator or myself that the fight has occured;
otherwise, we may not know, and you may not be given EXP!
To level up the first time, the character must reach 25 EXP.
After that, the previous level will be multiplied by 2, and
added to the original 25 EXP requirement (rounded up). A simpler
way of thinking of it is every time you level up, you add 2 to
the previous EXP requirement. To make things easy, I will be
listing the first 10 level requirements here.
Level 1 - 25 / Level 2 - 27 / Level 3 - 29 / Level 4 - 31
/ Level 5 - 33 / Level 6 - 35 / Level 7 - 37 / Level 8 -
39 / Level 9 - 41 / Level 10 - 43
