With a flash of Chaos Energy, the black-and-crimson hedgehog
suddenly appeared next to Sonic, and the slash noise of a sword
could be heard.
The hedgehog then glared, however tiredly, at the phoenix. "Let
her go. Right now. The kitsune doesn't deserve to be hurt like
that!" he growled, scooting a bit to be right next to Sonic.
"Sonic... I'd prefer it if we team up to drive this phoenix off.
I don't feel right with him being here in general..." he said in
a serious voice, one that could be recognized if Sonic didn't
forget. "And... I must help stop... him."
With that, he went back into a battle stance, his sword once
again with him.

Phoenix was snapped out of her thoughts by Millie's pleads and
Shadow's appearance only helped her more with her decision. In
her left hand appeared a bow, she inhaled as drew the string an
arrow formed while she did this. Her crystalline wings glowed
softly as she aimed at the cuff's joint, she released the arrow.
Just in case that on missed it's mark, she drew Brizqusia's
string again and formed another arrow. Phoenix was silent but
her eyes described more than what words could. She wouldn't let
her brother leave with the vixen, her icy stare made that clear.

Tarotikius grinned at Millie's attempt to escape, her pleas,
Shadow's appearance, and then laughed at Shadow's claims.
"Sorry but I have my orders," he stated with a grin. That is
until his sister shot an arrow at the cuff's joint, he grimaced
before leaping out of the way of the arrow. However the arrow
kissed the bottom of the joint, cracking it. This didn't
regenerate due to the arrow being Snow and Solar Quartz. Now he
tried to keep the cuff's joint out of his sister's aim.

Sonic was glad his hit landed, but disappointed it didn't do
anything with the way of the cuffs.
He needed to get Millie and Tarotikius away from each other.
When Shadow appeared Sonic looked at the black and crimson
hedgehog whom was by his side, Shadow already seemed to know
what was going on, in a way, and was offering that he and Sonic
team up.
"Team up? What do you mean? Weren't we already Pals?" Sonic
asked, elbowing the other hedgehog in the ribs playfully whilst
sticking his tongue out slightly.
Sonic's way of saying 'Yeah, sure, let's team up for this one
Shadz'.
Sonic looked back to see Phoenix's arrow only just nick a part
of the cuffs, and the effect it had didn't please Tarotikius.
"How many of those bows have ya got, Phoenix? If you have
plenty, keep aiming for those cuffs, your arrows cracked it and
it didn't regenerate" He called out to Phoenix.
Now how could he and Shadow help out?
Sonic looked to the darker hedgehog beside him, "In order for
her to get a clear shot, and the most easiest way for an arrow
to hit it's target, is for it's target to be still. We need to
somehow get that guy to be still, you following Shadow?" He
asked, checking to see if Shadow understood what he was getting
at.
Sonic then took a stance of his own

Phoenix
land a clear hit, we can't harm the vixen while doing so, and we
need to take that phoenix guy down" If Shadow had any plans he'd
be free to tell them to Sonic, if not, this blue hedgehog may
just have some tricks up his sleeve for this one.

Remaining in his stance as Sonic nudged him in the ribs, he
muttered, "In a joking mood as always..." with a slight smirk,
before listening very carefully to Sonic's next words, ignoring
the phoenix, for he knew who that phoenix may be working for..
'...Best way for you to spy on Dark-Ness is to be on his side,
trust me...'
"I have an idea, Faker. But you must listen carefully...
I need you to distract that phoenix for a bit. I'm gonna try
something with Chaos Control. Hopefully, if it has the effect I
am hoping for, it will affect the phoenix, and will make the
space around him much slower than normal. Then Phoenix -the one
with the bow I think..- can use her arrows to take him down, and
we can rescue the kitsune.
This seem okay, Sonic?" he explained to his best ability,
another smirk from him coming before he disappeared, and
reappeared behind the phoenix that held the golden vixen.
This is it.. let's hope this works... he thought, before saying,
"Get ready, Sonic!", as he once again focused his Chaos Energy,
this time gravitating it towards the phoenix as he closed his
eyes once again..
The sword, meanwhile, began to glow with greenish-blue Chaos
Energy as it flowed out of Shadow, the hedgehog still behind the
phoenix, before he called out, "Chaos... CONTROL!"
He felt, at that very moment, the last of his physical strength
leave him, the sword almost slipping out of the
black-and-crimson hedgehog's hands as he stood there, the
sword's edge pointing right at the phoenix. At the very least,
he hoped the kitsune would be freed, and he was sure his plan
could work.

Tarotikius tried to get at Shadow but the Chaos Control got him
first, his movements were slowed down now, however the cuffs
remained. The Obsidian Phoenix glared at Shadow with his red
eye and his grimace deepened, all slowed.

Phoenix was silent as she kept trying to aim. That is until
Shadow Chaos Controlled Tarotikius, this slowed him down long
enough for a clear shot. Without a second thought, Phoenix let
go the arrow and exclaimed into the night, "Crystal Arrow of
Freedom!" It wasn't hard to know what would happen, the arrow
hit it's mark. The cuffs shattered with a loud pop, Millie was
now free. However Phoenix fell out of her battle form, falling
to one knee as her bow disappeared.
She looked at Millie; her eyes screamed one word, run!

Millie hardly even had a chance to turn before a light blue and
black blur managed to grab and dash off with her.
[I]"Madness!"[/I]
[I]"We caught your distress signal mom."[/I] the trio soon came
to a halt a few streets away from the ensuing battle. Millie
wrapped her arms around her son in a tight hug and Madness
wrapped his arms around her, he was happy to see his mother safe
and sound. [I]"I think he was working for Alt."[/I]
Madness let out a groan. [I]"Again? I thought him and I agreed
to something."[/I]
[I]"Madness, you know the deals with your anti are deals with
the devil."[/I]
[I]"You have a point, but what do we do about him then? This is
the third time he's tried to do this to you!"[/I]
Millie caught a glance of Charolette's scythe and decided to
cover that base before Madness did. [I]"We can't kill him."[/I]
This made Madness tilt his head slightly. [I]"?"[/I]
[I]"Madness, sweetie, remember, his mother is a queen, and she
loves her Madness as much as I love mine. Killing him may seem
like a good option, but it would do much more damage than
good."[/I]
Madness nodded at this and Millie ruffled his hair making him
smile. Madness then sidestepped so he was next to Charolette.
[I]"Oh mom, this is Charolette."[/I] Madness leaned over and
kissed Charolette's cheek. Millie seemed... proud? [I]"Ohhhh my
little boy's growing up."[/I] the female fox managed to blink
away a tear and held out a hand to Charolette. [I]"Millie
Prower. ^^ "[/I]

Charolette blushed heavily due to her shyness, she still was
trying to get used to introducing herself to
others."C-Charolette...Pleasure to meet you miss Prower..!"The
reaper would smile gently and take her hand, shaking it before
letting it go."If only we came sooner.."

As he heard the pop noise, Shadow had opened his eyes, and was
trying to get out of the area, since he now began to feel
Mirrors's Chaos Energy here, but once he got within 40 feet of
the vixen, a hedgefox, and a cat, he felt his stomach become ice
and the world went blurry, as he began falling forwards, maybe
Sonic would have noticed Shadow seemed drained when Shadow had
gotten away from Phoenix and the blue hedgehog..
His head pounded, and his sword dropped out of his hands with a
clang before a soft groan came from him. This wouldn't normally
happen for the black-and-crimson hedgehog... but he'd used up
all of the energy he could muster getting here, due to using
some of it fighting Brizin and then him getting to Obsidian Isle
and then here..
