The Chase Continues

It would be quite sometime before Gabriel would land, he knew
that Shadow was still on his tail but to him that was the point.
He figured that Lightanis wouldn't mind if he got more on board
and two spies are better than one. So he waited on the black
sandy beaches of Obsidian Isle for the hedgehog to catch up.
His left ear twitched before he put to fingers in the same area
as before. "I'll be fine, Orchid....yes I
know....alright....affirmative....Mirrors out," he replied
before sighing, "Orchid, always the one to worry." He hoped
that Shadow hadn't caught that.

Sadly for Gabriel, Shadow caught some of it as he finally
stopped, a slight skid noise coming again as his Hover Shoes
deactivated. At least the name, Orchid...
'You suppose I didn't catch that? Orchid, was it?" the hedgehog
joked, having arrived by now, and smirking again before his
sword went away again, having been out so that he could cut
through things he needed to and fight whatever wasn't an
innocent as he would get here.
"Hmph... Obsidian Isle? Why here, Mirrors? Oh, right... the
mission you have yet to tell me about..." he added in a
slightly-serious tone, before cracking his knuckles.

Gabriel was silent, his expression was void of emotion.
Eventually his smirk returned, he gently turned off his
communicator with a small twitch of his ear. "The mission that
brings me here is not from the Society," he replied in a
whisper, "I've been sent here to spy on those who wish to stop
efforts to build a sanctuary, now for once let's forget about
our agencies and do something good."

"Sanctuary?" he asked in an equally quiet voice, before stopping
when his mouth opened again.
If this is what he meant... about what the Commander said about
that Chaos Disturbance... then this may worth looking into. he
thought, before his expression turned serious.
"I'll help you, then. What is it, the sanctuary, being built for
exactly?"

"A race of endangered aliens from another Zone," he replied with
an equally serious expression, "we're behind enemy lines and
I'll discuss more when we get back to the Great Forest around
Knothole." Gabriel looked at Shadow's communicator. "Turn it
off, the less chance of being discovered the better," he stated
even quieter, the look in his eyes said that this wasn't the
first spy job he's ever done.

What Gabriel didn't know was that Shadow had hidden the
communicator somewhere in the outskirts of Angel Island when he
had taken a small break to 'trick' GUN, as so he wouldn't have
said communicator with him.
"It is off, I turned it off before I got here," he whispered
back, nodding towards it. "And I can already guess who exactly
that sanctuary is for..." he added, implying the Black Arms/
Dark Arms.. his heritage with Black Doom..

Gabriel caught what Shadow implied and put a hand on Shadow's
shoulder. "There's always time to forgive and forget," he told
him in a low whisper, "forgive those who weren't involved
directly and forget those who were." With that he let his hand
drop to his side, looked Shadow in the eyes, and whispered, "Now
let's go get some intel."

He only nodded slowly, sighing when Mirrors put his hand on the
hedgehog's shoulder. Gabriel had caught what he had meant, and
told him to "..forgive those who weren't involved directly and
forget those who were."
"Right..." he answered, his crimson eyes now looking into those
of Gabriel.

He turned towards the volcano then back to Shadow. "If I was a
dark and devious guy, I'd hide my base of operations in a
Phoenix Temple. Especially one that is home to a real hotheaded
territorial one, what do you think?" he asked in a low whisper.

Shadow bit his lip. Rouge had just been to a certain temple a
while ago, just like Gabriel said. Though... it was for
treasure... She had said it was around here.. right?
"Good idea.. Rouge, to be honest.. she said there was one around
here, so I'm gonna guess whoever's not wanting the sanctuary
must be in that volcano..." he whispered back, turning to the
volcano himself for a moment.
He knew someone must be here..
