Academy for Alchemy

The library - the only place where the average bookworm could
feel at home, engulfing themselves into the many pages that
lined the polished oak shelves. The quiet, calm and solitary
atmosphere was the ideal habitat for a reader's mind to flourish
and thrive...well, it would have been had it not been for a
"special" event.
Anyone who would have walked by on the street would have been
curious about the semi-long line leading into the usually
peaceful building. Curious onlookers would peek inside, only to
see the line extend towards a table draped in a midnight black
cloth, a pestle and mortar and two unlit candles and a red cloth
dangling over the sign that read "Alchemy Academy - Sign up
here!" in the middle of the lobby. At that tables sat a
chocolate colored echidna draped in a crimson cloak with an owl
companion perched on a make-shift bird perch that was most
likely put together at the last minute.
The echidna watched each Mobian that approached the table with a
disinterested and stoic expression, watching them sign their
names into a book with a quill. She sighed as she watched a pair
of teenage giggling coyotes stumble away from the table; none of
these Mobians had the potential she was looking for to teach
these skills to...Was there really no one out there who could
honestly learn about Alchemy?

Blaze was one of those few mobians who stood in line waiting to
see what this alchemy business was all about. he was a bit
curious to say the least so he'd figured he would give it a try
himself. When he reached the table he wrote his name down on the
list before looking at the echidna girl. There wasn't much he
could read off of her with the expression she was giving off. If
anything it reminded him of his brother. With a small nod to the
girl, he took a seat nearby to see what would happen next.

A young orange fox got in-line to see what was the hustle all
about, only to see a sign that says something about an academy
for alchemy. The fox was both curious and excited at the same
time, with no hesitation he wrote his name down the book, he
glanced at the echidna for a bit then proceeded to find a place
to seat,he took a chair and sat near the fiery hybrid which was
only a table away. Now he waited for the moment to see what
would happen next.

Natasha was close behind, being the next to sign her name in the
ink; she was excited, truly joyous, for such an opportunity. She
knew a few things about basic alchemy thanks to Ajax and his
work with homemade medicine, but this seemed like a chance to
learn so much more! She barely managed to control her self as
she did a curtsy for the echidna to try and show respect, before
turning and frowning at the coyotes as the fumbled their way
away; they didn't know what they were missing.

Gabriel walked up to the table, a serious yet non-emotional look
on his face as he signed his name. It was hard to tell if he
was serious about this or not. He walked passed the giggling
coyotes to a bench nearby. As he passed them, they saw his red
patch and his overall walk read military or well trained. Once
at the bench, he sat down and watched them in silence.

There were a few other Mobians who signed their names who
appeared to be genuinely interest in learning alchemy. Satisfied
with the amount of people who signed up, she reached for the
other quill and crossed off the names of those who would only be
a waste of her time. After announcing that she was no longer
taking in any potential students, the crowd slowly dispersed
whilst the echidna prepared red envelopes that contained a map
that showed the way to the establishment where the classes would
take place, along with a note that said that she would be
waiting for them there. The owl had to pleasure to delivering
each envelope to each of the Mobians before returning to the
sorceress' side, where the duo promptly left the library without
another word.

Blaze watched as the echidna told the other mobians that were
waiting that she was done taking down names. A small sense of
confusion was all he gave before the owl that was near her
handed him an envelope with a map and note. he nodded to the owl
before getting up himself and looking to the others. Would they
be willing to tag along or should he just go on his own?
" hey you guys want to go together? " he asked them.

Natasha nearly squealed as the owl gave her one of the red
envelopes, hardly able to control her excitement; she was going
to be taught alchemy! She looked about at the others who also
received letters, quickly picking Blaze out of the crowd.
Hearing him ask if any of them wanted to go together, she
approached him from behind and placed her chin on his shoulder,
smiling. "I'll tag along, if you want!"

The bat took the envelope, opened it, looked at the contains,
put it all back together, and tucked it in his trench coat. He
looked at Blaze and yawned with a shrug, "Don't see why not."
With that he got up and stretched his wings. He flapped them a
few times and scratched an ear with his left wing claw.

Blaze gave a nod to the others before heading out to the
location that was describe on the note. He was a bit psyched
himself. Sure he dealt with elements but alchemy was a different
ball game. He couldn't wait to get started.
