       Everyone knows the next step after being labeled a foreign
       agent is jail time and that's why many leave.  I guess to get me
       to leave but I wasn't going to leave. An interesting by-product
       of this policy is that although most liberal opposition leaders
       have left the country, with a few exceptions such as Ilya
       Yassin, who Alexei Navalny has been jailed, and Ilya Yassin, who
       was recently jailed, Most of the people who stayed in Russia
       stayed behind. So it is interesting that the left is becoming a
       hegemonic force in the anti-war movement. The anti-war movement
       was real even as it was forced underground. It's becoming
       radicalized because people are starting to understand that it's.

       parts of the liberal opposition that
       used to distrust anything outside of the left are now moving
       towards this. For example, Yassin recently said that he had some
       differences with Navalny because he himself considered himself
       more leftist, which surprised us because we always thought he
       was a liberal. Another example is Yulia Galiamina, a very
       charismatic and important figure in the liberal opposition who
       recently declared that her best friend in the movement was a
       communist. . So there will definitely be a left turn movement.
       Finally I would like to talk about the West and regime change.

       You recently wrote that while Western leaders would not allow
       Russia to win the war they did not necessarily want regime
       change in Russia. . This seems to go against the common
       narrative in the West, even on the Western left, that the U.S.
       motivation in Ukraine is to weaken Russia and promote some kind
       of regime change. Why do you think they were not interested in
       regime change in Russia Well it depends on what you mean by
       regime change. If what you mean by regime change is simply
       changing the president's name then that is exactly what the West
       wants. They definitely want Putin to resign because.
