Scouted again for a few hours today. Once again I eliminated a
chunk of land. I did find an old homestead near a little field
with what appeared to possibly be fruit trees. I am trying to
find out what types of trees they are. The little field is not
listed on topo maps and you cant see it on an aerial view
either. Bonus for me.

That could be a little gold mine. Did you get any pictures of
the trees. We might be able to help identify them for you. Could
be persimmon trees

Went out Saturday for a few just down the road at a private farm
I hunt and rescouted and shed hunted again and found out the
farmer is cutting down a line of trees that has the best buck
bed I ever found in it. They have the trees all piled up around
it and the bed is still open. Maybe they will leave it that way
and he will still be there. But bad thing is the tree I had to
hunt out of is now gone and there is a big open spot till the
next trees and I don't think will move that much now till after
dark do to no cover. Will see how that works out or it will make
some other beds around better. The next bed that I new was there
but could not nail down a spot to hunt it. I belive will have to
be a ground hunt below him in a little ravine. But I can cover
two of his trails coming out of the bed and be down wind and
below sight and the thermals will be below him in the evening.
But bad thing is the are to other trails going the other way out
that are almost impossible to hunt with the wind and property
lines to get in from the other side. And again no sheds

Today I found the best spot so far this off season. Five acre
nasty thicket on the edge of a ridge. Loaded with buck sign as
it must be doe bedding. Can't see it from the road nor from an
aerial. And to top it off I didn't see any evidence of anyone
else hunting it with any regularity.

Looks like my next few weekend will be booked doing some side
jobs so my scouting is getting cut some, but with the time
change this weekend I may get some time in the evenings to do
some. Still waiting on some creeks to go down so I can cross to
check out a few spots.
