rat children?

Are they similar to rodents in that they carry
disease? If so, are children provided cleaning products at
school when they share classes with them?

Dear ThornInYourSide (cute name, sweetie!),
I'm sorry, rat children? I have never heard of such a thing, but
this does sound concerning. Thankfully, I am not a mother
anymore. I will say, you might want to stay out of Goldcrest if
you're worried about your kids catching diseases. My teenage
stepsons turned into monsters that simply had to be put down. Of
course, they were already little monsters, but I am learning
that might have been from chemicals in the water, patriarchal
gender roles, and a lifetime of witnessing horrors.
TaTa!
Judy Allbright, best friend of Dr. Ashley Beaumont (she will
surely know more about such things!)

the rat children are, uh, mostly harmless. there's only a few of
them, not sure how the hell they came to be. just a little
weird, and no more icky than the average kid, at least in terms
of germs.

This seems... unlikely given that I saw one emerge
from the sewers, but thank you for your insight.

the rat kids are cool. i kinda wanna tie all their legs to each
other and make a rat kid king. or maybe train one of them how to
fight. they have good combat teeth.

This is a really bad idea. You think "oh man maybe this'll go
down like Lord of the Flies except all the kids are stuck to
each other! Comedy hijinks!" but instead it's more like Voltron
but they're still in the sewer so now you've got a superpowered
gaggle of strung out fused tweens stuck in the sewer like a
pubescent fatberg with the power to level a city block.
Let's just let rat kids be kids.
