As someone who advocates for putting cis men in cages, I don't
know if I can really contribute to a conversation about ethics.
HOWEVER, I don't think anyone sentient should be obligated to
submit to being studied! That's so rude, just let the little
weirdos exist! Being poked and prodded is only fun when you're
consenting, queens~

wow! good thread, Same!! I think about this a lot in my line of
work, especially after my run-in at the mil complex (which I
still need to post about!). sometimes I think my friend Zoe is
right and we should make more of an effort to communicate with
them. maybe we could make some kind of device where something
could speak or... groan... or whatever and we could compile
everything and eventually make some kind of... translator! yeah!
I majored in linguistics for a couple of years and computer
science for another year, maybe I could help!!

I'm a believer that all people want to be good, even if they're
a little strange or ragged around the edges. Hard and fast rules
don't always work, but those of us who live on the fringes tend
to look after one another after a lifetime of being treated like
garbage for being different. Maybe creatures ain't gonna listen
to any sort of "human" equivalent of conscience - people,
though? We figure it out. Obligation shouldn't have anything to
do with it.
Keep your fuckin' needles to yourselves though, weirdos. Not
everything has to be quantified by science - and I say this as a
scientist.
