Recruitment Policy

The Silent implements an IC and OOC interview process for all RP
members of the guild. Because we have divisions of the guild
that are solely dedicated to leveling and PVE, we do not require
the interview upon recruitment in the guild.
A member of the guild when they first join will be given an OOC
rank. Should the person wish to join our vibrant RP community,
they will need to direct their request to any of the Officers.
All officers have a responsibility to conduct an OOC and IC
portion of the interview. The OOC portion is handled in
whispers, the IC is handled through an IC interaction
Although the questions a new member might be asked may vary
depending on the officer, the basic sections of the OOC
interview are as follows:
"How much experience do you have RPing?"
"Why does your character wish to join the Silent?"
"What do you hope to get out of this guild?"
"Would your character be able to work with a vigilante society?"
"How do you handle WoW lore?"
Officers are encouraged to use their best judgement in the OOC
portion. For the IC portion, it will begin with the code phrase:
"Have you come to honour the dead?" Which signifies an awareness
of the Silent's activities, and a desire to join. Then, the
interviewer will ask the character a variety of questions about
why they wish to join, and what they can offer to the Silent.
Although we are always pushing for quality, we primarily want to
create a fun, positive RP environment that is also a learning
community. This means that while we will not discriminate based
upon skill level, we will re-evaluate problematic or otherwise
incompatible characters.
Only after completing both sections will a member be able to
earn their first IC rank.
