       Rotten Riches (IC RP EVENT)
By: Caleb Norwill Date: February 17, 2015, 11:22 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Taxes are rarely interesting. But that was what the death knight
found himself pouring over in the early hours of the morning.
The Wrynn's castle remained uninteresting to the death knight,
but their library was fascinating - and more fascinating was the
thick book of the recorded taxes paid by the House of Nobles.
Taxes may have been rarely interesting , but to Caleb Noriwll
these taxes were fascinating. They told more stories about the
fate of the Alliance than anything else in the world. Money,
Caleb noted with disdain, still was the king that all other
       lords must bow to.
Caleb didn't know what he was looking for, but he was fascinated
nonetheless. His fingers strayed over the name Kindlewood,
recalling his colleague. He turned through the pages, seeing the
names of Paladin Highlords and Archmagi's children. But his hand
stopped upon the taxes of House Oakheart. It seemed as if they
were in a financial alliance with the very house that Mouse's
enemy -- Aelthun -- belonged to. The death knight frowned. They
seemed to have channeled a large amount of money to Aelthun - a
troubling amount of money with a source listed as "personal".
Personal funds were labelled. The Asteris' family had personal
funds from their sprawling wheat fields tended by serfs, the
Lighthammer's earned their keep through a hefty tithe on their
common folk. The Oakheart's funds were "personal", no
explanation given. Caleb rubbed at the bridge of his muzzle and
murmured into the darkness "where is it coming from?"
       The library did not respond.
Two days later, a letter came for Caleb J. Norwill of Lordaeron.
It had been two years since Lord Aerys Oakheart's son had died,
and Oakheart was calling for a small gathering, in order to
celebrate the end of the mourning period. Oakheart had sent an
       opportunity in the mail.
       WHAT IS THIS?
This is an investigation into the Oakheart family, a powerful
ally of Aelthun-- one of Mouse's greatest enemies. Caleb has
been invited to their party, and is going to take some members
of the Silent with him to unearth the source of the Oakheart's
       great wealth!
This event will take the form of an emote crawl. How that works
is that a bunch of us will get into a raid group and I, as a
kind of dungeon master style role, will tell you what you see as
you attempt to discover the secrets of the Oakheart villa. You
may have to fight enemies or solve puzzles: in which case, you
will need to emote your responses and reactions to the world
around you. Enemies can be downed with a /roll mechanic which
       works in the following way:
Badguy: An enemy approaches and attempts to slash at Caleb!
       (/roll 100) 75!
Caleb: (/roll 100) 15 Caleb is hit by the enemy, but launches a
       counter attack! (/roll 100) 95!
Badguy: (roll /100) 36 The enemy is hit in its ugly face!
And so on. This continues until one party has three hits on the
other- usually - although I will tell you when things are mooks
and you can just destroy them however you like!
       WHERE AND WHEN, CALEB?!
This Friday- 6:30 pm server is my current plan! Given that this
is a formal party, you may want to get into some formal wear!
