Alyia stared at the crackling fire dancing around the torch. It
had been several hours since the annoying priestess had left her
here, and she saw no sign of the giantess or any of those she
met in Feralas coming any time soon. She sighed, throwing
herself down in front of the decapitated stone statue’s head. It
creeped her out a little, but provided a good place for rest.
She was ripped from her dreams by a sound of…clopping? She
wasn’t sure if she heard it right – exactly like a camel on
stone. From down the stairs came a draenei woman dressed in blue
garb. “Ah, friends! Have you any infor-“ the woman claimed,
stopping herself realizing there was no one else in the
catacombs.
Alyia’s first response was to grab her spear, ready to chuck it
at woman. A shock rippled through her body, and she was slammed
against the statue head. Regaining her senses after the blast,
the draenei woman had taken the necklace Alyia kept around her
neck.
The draenei ran her fingers over it, frowning. “Sharilla.” She
said aloud. Alyia reached weakly in the vague direction, venom
spitting from her mouth. “Give it back!”
Throwing it back to her, Yara gave Alyia a smile. “You’re from
Sharilla?”
Alyia stood, attempting to regain her balance. She nodded,
reaching for her spear. “I am. I was told to come here after
aiding a group of travelers in Feralas with locating the source
of the corruption of the Emerald Dragonflight.”
Immediately at the mention of the dragonflight, Yara’s smile
grew wide. “You know the source of the corruption, then? And you
are from Sharilla?” she said, approaching Alyia. The Tanari
woman nodded again, her thoughts briefly falling on her oasis
home. Yara loomed closer over the woman. “In that case, perhaps
we can work out a mutually beneficial transaction…"
