This is the case of Carolinetwenty, a 24-year-old pharmacy
student who met Jamie, a 27-year-old computer entrepreneur, on
the internet. Both free and looking for a partner, they begin to
send messages. The possibility of a physical meeting seems
remote because Caroline is on vacation away from Paris when she
begins corresponding with Jamie. The exchanges continue, more
discontinuous than before, but they are maintained. Humor and
irony dominate in online conversation. There is little
information about what the two young people do and what they are
like socially, but Caroline paints a fairly positive picture of
Jamie based on her playful personality. Common points emerge
that are essentially personal qualities, such as a sense of
humor, interactive and personal skills, and are not
characteristics of the social category although they derive in
       part from it.
But above all, this time of exchange without pressure, without
the certainty of seeing each other, expresses the pleasure of
being together and opposes the urgency of the ephemeral India

       encounter. Jamie invites
Caroline to her house. She accepts. Even in this case, they will
distance themselves from any sexual dimension: "I still haven't
gone out with him, I saw him twice without going out, and I went
to his house, but we just talked and talked nonsense until nine
in the morning, not really." I watched time go by." While
Caroline has long practiced very free sexuality with casual
partners, she develops a relationship with this man in which the
       sexual dimension is explicitly erased.

The logic of dating applications is to favor striking images of
people who know how to "show off", and search by criteria that
homogenize all individuals. Some authors consider it a
"rationalization" of lovetwenty-one. However, recent studies
show the importance of the " feeling " experienced during the
first contacts with the couple, that particular and synthetic
feeling of correspondence between two individuals22. The young
woman who spoke of her partner's sense of humor during her first
contacts felt that this boy was special, unique, different from
the others. This sensation must be confirmed during the physical
encounter. The “feel” attests to the particular work being done
       on dating platforms and others.
