What is significance?

In the TROM book we read:

All games contain conviction. Conviction, by definition, is an
enforcement of knowingness. Enforcement of knowingness is
called importance. Importance is the basis of all
significance.

However "significance" is not defined. What does the author mean
by this?

The Dictionary Definition works:
noun
1.
importance; consequence:
the significance of the new treaty.
2.
meaning; import:
The familiar place had a new significance for her.
3.
the quality of being significant or having a meaning:
to give significance to dull chores.
A significance in TROM is whatever is important to you.

Actually, the TROM manual does state the definition of
"significance":
"Significance is the consideration of both the nature of a
purpose and its importance."
You can find it in "Second Addendum to Theory Section".

I see significance as anything that has importance.

The significance of a thing is simply the purpose plus its

Life contains a near infinity of significances, and we are
addressing all of them when we address the basic package.
When we say significance we say what do the things signify, what
does it mean?
The word significance has the same root as the word signal. What
are the signals it's sending us? What does it mean? So if we
know what it means, then we know what its significance is. But
its meaning is essentially its purpose, its function, that is
its essential meaning. So we're down to function again.
So significance is purpose plus the importance, that's all. A
thing might have many purposes and each purpose may have an
importance but essentially when you take a significance apart
you're taking apart postulates, you're taking apart intentions,
purposes, and that's all. There's nothing else there.

No, no, no. Thanks to Jurgen and Khepri for actually getting
Dennis' TROM definition correct.
OK, so now I am really starting to see some of Peter's
fundamental misunderstandings of what TROM is and its purpose.
I mean, this misunderstanding of what a significance is,
"Something that's important to you" I think is what led Peter to
make his erroneous statement of what an importance is in his
guided session recording, where he says "
an importance is something that's important to you" and that
also is a false representation of TROM theory. I point this out
in my video about his faulty R.I. instructions.
