Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a form
of psychotherapy developed by Francine Shapiro which uses eye
movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to assist
trauma victims in processing distressing memories and beliefs.
It is commonly used for the treatment of post-traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD).[1][2] The theory behind the treatment assumes
that when a traumatic or distressing experience occurs, it may
overwhelm normal coping mechanisms, with the memory and
associated stimuli being inadequately processed and stored in an
       isolated memory network.[1]
The therapy includes having the patient recall distressing
images while receiving one of several types of bilateral sensory
input, such as side-to-side eye movements or hand tapping.[3]
EMDR is most commonly used to treat adults with PTSD, but it is
also used to treat trauma and PTSD in children and adolescents.

Okay, I get it: often bringing up front a traumatic incident
includes rapid eye movement and nervous ticks, such as hand or
finger twitching, so I can see that consciously doing those
things while timebreaking would be additionally therapeutic.

Yes, a key aspect of this timebreaking is that it involved you
using left to right eye movement so that the incident is
processed by BOTH brain hemispheres. Trauma apparently is a
memory that has not been processed by both hemispheres.

I shall use the eye-shifting practice the next time I have a
       timebreaking session.
I have no doubt about the brain being a factor. I've been
enhancing my brain with series of dryfasting to remove stagnant
lymph. Much of the brain separation is exacerbated by hardened
stagnant lymph hindering the flow of neurotransmitters back and
forth between hemispheres at a cellular level.
Fortunately the body intelligence knows how to do its part to
restore balance to the central nervous system, and during such
dryfasting sessions I also have related incidents come up (such
as postulates that decided to create the brain separation) -
quite intriguing what dryfasting and timebreaking simultaneously
can do toward increasing one's sanity.
       Many happy RI's for you.
