Cut the Crap

Okay guys. Please do not post here if your going to try to argue
with people. I myself am 15 and possibly the youngest player
here other then CA. I've noticed a sort of trend. CA and I
usually tend to remove ourselves when we(usually me) causes an
argument and act more mature then our age. Yes, I do god mod and
mets game and really have to work on my role play skills, but I
feel that the older people in this forum act more immature then
CA and I. When I'm called a name, which I have been, I don't
retaliate by continuing the fight and calling a name back.
People on this forum need to learn when to walk away/log off for
a bit and come back later. CA hasn't really ever gotten in a
fight on this forum, but I have. When I got into a verbal
argument, Caos for example(Caos nothing against you we just
argue a lot;) When we fight OOCly during RPs I'm mostly wrong
because Caos is very experienced, and I'm well, not. I don't
like that Im wrong and I get angry at the way he talks to me
sometimes(Your doing much better tho don't get me wrong) Now I
could:
A) Retaliate and Verbally assault Caos like some people do
2) Log off and just take a break and come back later.
Now I always(correct me if I'm wrong) take 2 as my choice path
here.
Now, Caos you don't get along with WP and Columbia And vice
versa. Whether that's personally or ICly that's not my place to
judge. But, you all can be civil with each other and still exist
in the same community without constant fighting. I understand it
can be hard but please try.
Caos please try to see their views. You are very experienced in
military role play and others here are not. I know you know your
right and that it exasperates you to deal with the same people
god modding or making fact errors. But please try to not be
condescending when you explain something or get irritated right
away. I know it's difficult but if someone isn't experienced
then he won't learn if you treat him like that. Try to instead
nurture his "learning" and explain it to him in a better way.
WP and Columbia you have to see Caos's side. He IS very
knowledgeable in most military areas. He admits when he is wrong
and wouldn't try to treat him. Please treat him with respect and
understand that he is only trying to help you get better at RP.
There's no need to belittle him and say, "I'm not RPing anymore
with you" It's wrong and doesn't do any justice to anyone.
Mod and admin team, you guys have done a great job so far and I
understand your job is hard. But please, try to crackdown on
this arguing. It is driving people away and causing chaos.
Thanks.
Now, let's put aside EVERYTHING that has Happened this week and
let's not ban anyone or punish anyone. Let's just ALL try to be
nicer and more thoughtful towards each other and become a better
community.

This is a wonderful post Sparta. It is a really good post.
But are you simply saying we ignore what happened? That would
not be productive. To ignore what happened what would set a
dangerous precedent in future issues where if someone went off
the rails and insulted, cussed and threatened to get away with
it also. That would see this forum end up a ghost town as people
will not want to stay if that type of reactions are ignored and
not dealt with.
Im not starting a debtate on this. But we cannot just sweep this
under the mat. Everyone is held accountable for their actions.
Did you want to start a dangerous precedant?
There is nothing that is broken that can't be fixed.

Listen while I forgive Caos for being a complete jackwagon to
us, I still want to see him punished beyond a post moderation. I
want to see something just a little more. And until then, no I
will not be RPing with him for obvious reasons. I don't RP with
people who call a friend of mine racist and then accuse me of
having mental instability. Nope not gonna happen. I have
integrity.

There's some things that need to be ignored, and some things
that cannot. I, personally, would love to get a pardon for my
actions. I would love it. I do have to admit, though, that there
is a time when we cannot simply forgive everyone, and that
moderator action needs to be taken. It's not so much diplomacy
as it is authority.
Although, I do feel threatened by that one person who I am so
DESPERATELY trying to pretend isn't speaking to me. And it's not
you, WP.

The global mod team doesn't have all the fancy punishment tools
at our disposal, mostly we can just edit and delete posts and
appeal to the higher authority. I'm usually weary of deleting
posts unless I absolutely have to and edits the same. What do
you suggest the global moderation team do?

This was more of a jab at AK than at the Moderator team. I won't
lie, AK and I did not actually give you guys that many powers
because I felt that with that many people with powers of the
sort, something was bound to go wrong. I might want to
reconsider that considering the following:
The Administration team has not done anything in the past, and
now, to prevent bullying. As I write this, I am actually feeling
the effects of someone on this forum actively bullying me. I do
not like it. I do not enjoy it. And this person has not actually
been reprimanded, or punished for his actions. I do know this,
because for a time, I was able to see, and still can because of
my moderator status on a forum, the warning list. And this
person was never on there.
Admins were given a set of powers at their disposal which were
designed to help the forum, and help them, when things like this
arose. The Admin team so far has taken extreme measures to not
use any of these powers, and was in fact the reason for my
animosity towards the Admin, and the reason that the Admin
decided to ask a vote. That was the deciding factor. As a
personal friend of this person, I am infuriated to the point of
yelling. He has taken no action whatsoever in anything, and has
completely disregarded all duties as an Admin of this forum. And
the worst part was that when I took this person to the public
for their view? Their entire view was that if it wasn't
affecting them, they didn't care. That is the last thing I want
to hear from a community such as this. When a person or persons
attack me or anyone else directly, just because they don't go
after you doesn't mean they're okay and can change.
That is what I abhor. Diplomacy, when used correctly and at the
right time, is a wondrous tool to be used. But there are times
when Diplomacy has failed, and will fail. There are times when
there is a need for that Iron fist. There are times when the
person in power should not use that Iron fist. And there are,
and will be, times when that person needs a break. I do believe
that we've come upon such a time. This forum is very, very
infamous for waiting for the absolute last second to do anything
of any moderating powers. I remember that clearly. It's a trait
that I've always wanted to change. I'm a fan of slapping the
wrist, and telling them what they did wrong. Not holding their
hand and telling them what they did was wrong. Because it hasn't
worked yet.

Well, that's not really my personality. I would rather help them
through a certain process than punish them and be done with it.
No questions asked. (Doesn't mean they won't also be punished
for what they did.)
I think AK has been overworked and I don't see many people
contacting moderator support when things like this occur. I
don't usually, I don't know about the others. I'm mean, I always
here to be able to work out problems should people need it.
(Although I don't have the powers to do any active work, I'm
sure talking would be a great way to vent problems)

I would beg to differ on the reports.
A lot of people have been filing frivolous reports on trivial
things. But the stuff that I've filed has constantly been
overlooked, with AK very much so just.. trailing off when I
mention it.
And it's incredibly frustrating to be ignored, especially by the
Admin.
