Obviously LEGO is in trouble financially, like so many
companies. I am sure the American recession has hurt their sales
quite a bit. I would rather have them cut back these things than
others.
Cost of going to an event fir LEGO.. ONE person.. Airfare =/-
$1000, food $100 or more per day depending on city, Hotel
$100-300 a day depending on City. Then there is transportation
and incidentals.
Multiply this by the number of events people WANT them to
attend, then add the freebies by the thousands...

For one person? Weird... I managed to get a few decent meals a
day for 20 euros (30$) in Denmark, and that's pretty much the
most expensive country in Europe...
