On December 15, 1986, my Dad left us to be with God
I have missed him just about every day since, but much more so
as Christmas approaches. My Dad taught me many things.. to avoid
debt like the plague, how to
wire all things electrical, to stand up for what you believe in,
and how to decorate a Christmas tree. He took great care in
lighting the tree just so.. and some years I actually get it
just right. I can still see him now, putting the finishing
touches on the tree...
Dad was a "fallen Catholic".. he met, fell in love with and
married my Baptist Mom. One of the most important things he
taught me was the difference between knowing and loving Jesus
and striving to follow his teachings, and following the
teachings of a church. We went to Mom's church, but I always
knew that deep down inside that priest had wounded him. He was
the most honest, honorable and loving man I have ever known. I
miss him so.

It reminded me of Frostburgh as well. I also like how the light
brick lights up the whole house.
