Mak is getting a 3F0 error.
Boot device not found please install an OS on your hard disc.
His comp is an HP 2000-299WM notebook T3500 2.10 GHz Proc. It
was upgraded to 4 Gigs of DDR 3
We went through the steps on the HP website up to reseat the
hard drive, and the next step is to call HP support. (no please
no)
Any ideas??

Try booting Ubuntu from a CD and see if you can access the data
partition. If you have one.
You can also try bootrec.exe from a Windows 7 (it is W7, right?)
repair disk; you can make it from the control panel on any W7
device, or probably download it from somewhere (but making it
would be more reliable probably). Plenty of tutorials on the
internet for using it, so you shouldn't have any problems with
that.

Download it, or if you have a W7 cd, just boot from that.
