Not sure if this qualifies as a true MOC since it is not 100% my
design, but it is one of my favorite projects..

I think it qualifies to me. =) Some of my own MOCs have used an
official base; like for instance, a couple of my old mecha MOCs,
which I sadly never got pictures of, started with a base of
either the Uplink, or the Sky Guardian. The Uplink because it
was the easiest build(and was awesome for modifications), and
the Sky Guardian because it was my first Exo Force set.
So yeah, I think this is amazing; you used your own parts to
modify an existing set; however, you made it work very well. I
typically shy away from real life MOCs because my part selection
is horrid for good colour schemes. However, in this case, I
think the additional colours worked in favour of the MOC, and
the scheme is very cool, and very fitting. I could definitely
see that as a future X-Wing upgrade, with the coloured plates
and such being the unit designations; same with the red in other
spots on the MOC. =)

Thats the same reason why I mostly build in LDD, its hard to
have a consistant color scheme, especially in large things. And
modifying oficial things is great! its how I started building.

Looks pretty good! Could use some higher resolution pictures
though.
I used to make set modifications, but now I just throw every set
I get immediately into the sorting bin and then make something
else =P
