Featured MOC of the Month: November nominations
DIR By: Rakoua
Date: December 1, 2012, 11:32 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the first Featured MOC of the Month competition, here
on TMC!
Here are the rules:
--- Quote ---
> 1. The competition will be held once a month. The nominations
will last 10 days and the voting another 10 days.
> 2. You may nominate up to three MOCs made in the past month.
If the MOC was posted in the last few minutes, the time will be
calculated in GMT. You must also include at least two reasons
why you like that MOC and think that it is worthy of the honor.
> 3. You may not nominate a MOC made by someone who won Featured
MOC of the Month in the last three months.
--- End Quote ---
So, pretty simple. Good luck everyone!

I'd like to nominate:
-MaverickDengo's Dragonfly
Topic link:
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/mocs/the-dragonfly/
There are several reasons why I like this MOC. The design is
familiar, yet still refreshing in some ways. There is no fear of
studs, which is why it actually looks sleeker than if he had put
tiles in some places. The cockpit is very well made and there is
a lot of SNOT going on all over the spaceship.
-Jarren's My little robot friend
Topic link:
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/mocs/my-little-robot-friend/
A very cute little robot and a ton of awesome curves and shaping
going on. The leg shape is especially noteworthy.
-Nodnarb162's K-80 Elephant (the LDD model)
Topic link:
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/digital-bricks-discussion/ldd-moc-k-80-elephant-mkii-starfighter/
The stripes and curves all contribute to why I like this MOC,
but my favorite part is the play feature (I assume those are
firing missiles, correct?). Would be very fun to swoosh around.

I have a question? I am assuming we can nominate other peoples
mocs, but are we allowed to nominate our own? I wouldn't
nominate my own anyways, but I am curious :P

yes they are firing missles, its one feature my old ship had so
I wanted to have it on the new version, figuring out how to
build them into the engine structure was interesting. also one
thing that isn't obvious from the pic, there is a flap on the
back of the ship behind the cockpit, you can pop a couple round
technic peices in there as bombs, and the rear thruster turns to
release them through a hole on the bottom :)

So simple yet so perfect. Going to build one of these to set on
my shelf :P
Nobnarb162's LDD LEGO Space Ship!
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/digital-bricks-discussion/ldd-lego-space-ship!-and-i-need-a-name-for-it!/
Always loved this style of ship, pulled it off wonderfully.
And of course, Rakoua's Besieged tower!
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/mocs/besieged-tower/
The stonework at the base is amazing, not to mention the overall
feel of the tower.

There's nothing against nominating your own MOC in the rules. Of
course, that's not what we're aiming for here =P

I would like to nominate:
Rakoua's shopping center
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/mocs/shopping-center/
The sign and the cart area are very well built, and I also like
the colors Rakoua used.
Jarren's My little robot friend
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/mocs/my-little-robot-friend/
I love this little guy and I wish I had one. His head is really
well built, and his hands and feet are awesome.
And Nodnarb162's maelstrom madness monster truck
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/digital-bricks-discussion/maelstrom-madness-monster-truck!/
This is a really cool monster truck. The face on the front is
really creative, and you can't see it from the pictures, but
nodnarb even added springs for suspension.

most mocs have been mentioned already :P But I do have this one
SirRascus Haunted Mansion
HTML http://themoccorner.createaforum.com/lego-universe-moc-museum/haunted-mansion/
Having visited this prop myself It was deffinitely at the top of
my favorites. he used lots of snot to achieve a great level of
detail, and his coloring and the layout of it all really gives
it a dark and gloomy hounted mansion feel :)

BTW people, I've been thinking, should we have several
categories for this? Like, LDD, LU and real LEGO?

For now I dont think we should, there are so few projects right
now, once the forum grows a bit then it might be a good idea to
have seperate categories.
