I auto hide my taskbar. My mouse was at the bottom of the screen
when I took the screenshot though. :P

Ah, I see. Also, I see you have IE and Chrome; why not use
Firefox with that IE addon if something isn't compatible?

My dock is always hidden. @rakoua I have 3 web browsers :-X
chrome for daily use, Firefox for school work (dumb software
only works with Firefox), and safari for shared tabs on my ipad.

I see, so I'm not the only one hiding that stuff =P
I used to have 6 web browsers installed: Waterfox (for daily
use), Chrome (to troll a certain person), Pale Moon (for
testing), IE (for a site that didn't like Waterfox), Firefox
(for old times sake) and Opera (for testing). Now I only have
Waterfox though.
And MsRR, I prefer a clean desktop. The one you have looks
rather nice.

There is, you can go to Personalize and on the right you will
see a Change Desktop Icons bar.

You could also use Rocket Dock and set it to autohide if you
still want icons sometimes. That's what I used to have before
school started and I was swarmed by random Sketchpad and Python
files.
