Episode 40 – An Alternate History
Airdate: Saturday 19th December 2015
Synopsis: The Dawn Katana lands down on Vastania, and locals
gather to see what is happening. Waspinator leads his Maximals
out of the ship, and introduces himself and the rest of his team
– Cross-Shot, Tidal Wave, Howlback, Snapjaw, Prophecy, Scale and
Buzzstreak.
A few weeks later; Buzzstreak is in the bridge with Waspinator,
Howlback, Paladin and Swingback. Waspinator is talking with
Sonar on the comm.-link, discussing having gathered all of the
fragments and returning to Panthalassa, while Buzzstreak stares
up at Prophecy’s painting on the bridge’s ceiling, its content
focusing on Panthalassa rather than Valoran and missing Arcrise
and Andromeda. Waspinator finishes his call, as Mirage enters,
explaining the presence of a star that should not have been
there. Buzzstreak is clearly unhappy at Mirage’s presence. We
jump forward, seeing the gathered Maximals on Iudicium as
Hatchet attacks them ruthlessly. Snapjaw goes to sneak off, but
Buzzstreak notices and dashes over to him, asking what he is
doing. The hyena-bot tells her that he was going to locate the
Archaicons and lead Hatchet to them; Buzzstreak points out that
they should be trying to build bridges with the new faction,
just as Cross-Shot has come to preach.
Snapjaw: I’m going to find the Archaicons. We know they’re here,
thanks to that idiotic broadcast… once we know where, I can lead
that monster-bot to them. Two birds, one stone.
Buzzstreak: You can’t! Snapjaw, we have to try and build bridges
with the Archaicons. We have to be the better bots. It’s just
like Cross-Shot’s been saying recently… we should stand
together.
All the while, Dinobot is leading Sickleclaw, Scorpinax, Airazor
and Sawblade down through the ship, when they encounter not a
team of Quintessons… but Galvatron, seemingly a little dizzy.
Dinobot is surprised to see her; when she turns to see him, she
notices Sawblade and immediately blasts him, killing him without
a moment’s notice. Dinobot is furious (Airazor simply laughs
nervously), but Galvatron tells him to be thankful and follow
her, as she heads back up the ship.
Dinobot: What?! To attack someone without warning-
Galvatron: You should be thankful. Trust me. Now, calm down and
follow me…
Hatchet immediately halts, as Vok symbols manifest and disappear
all around him. Snapjaw takes the opportunity to phase the
monstrous bot through the floor, and Prophecy urges that they
leave – while many of the bots, especially Cross-Shot, Tidal
Wave, Howlback and Paladin – are hesitant to leave the
Quintesson prisoners to their fate, Prophecy insists that they
have to go. Galvatron reaches the prison cells, and blasts
Lacerator apart at first sight. Dinobot, Sickleclaw, Scorpinax
and Airazor catch up to her, and the larger bot blocks the
Archaicon leader’s swift attack. She states that she has much to
tell him, and that he must listen carefully.
The Dawn Katana races back to Panthalassa. Buzzstreak is sat in
her quarters, contemplative, when Cross-Shot visits. The archer
bot explains that Snapjaw had mentioned what she had said on the
Quintesson ship, and that she is proud of her. Buzzstreak
responds that she simply wants everyone to be happy and united,
and for bots to be accepted despite their differences.
Cross-Shot agrees, although she feels that those who pervert
justice deserve punishment. The younger bot notes that she is
not sure how she feels about all of that yet – she is still
learning so much with the Maximals.
Buzzstreak: I’m not sure… I really appreciate everything you’ve
taught me, you and the others, but… I’m still working out how I
feel about things like that. There’s still a lot for me to
learn.
As Necrocide sits in his chamber on Leviathan, reflected by the
mirrored walls, his timeline b self burrows into his head, and
greats him with his own mouth. The two iterations of Necrocide
talk (generally shown as different reflections, though we
occasionally see both voices coming from the real Necrocide) –
the timeline b version explains that he is from a future that
went wrong, but that he has foreknowledge that can make things
much more interesting. The Dawn Katana reaches Panthalassa, and
Constant, Sonar and Ouranos welcome the team aboard. The crew of
the smaller ship disembark, and the newer bots are impressed by
the size of the cruiser, even if Mirage is still uncomfortable
with being involved in the conflict. Waspinator informs the
group that they shall need to have their fragments removed,
which Necrocide agrees with – the group are stunned to see him
there, and the Home team question how the villain even boarded
the ship. The dual-minded Necrocide reels off how he is now
aware of an alternate future, and plans on taking advantage of
the knowledge.
Necrocide: I’ll make this brief – ahah, that should be
interesting to see – me, this me, the one speaking – as opposed
to this me – I’m from an alternate future, a time that could
have been and wound up in beautiful, desperate ruin. Now I’m
here – we’re here, but he’s here – to take advantage of the
wonderful things I know. Prepare yourselves… it’s about to get
hysterically fun.
He addresses Waspinator as the One True Prime, before impaling
him with multiple oily black blades. Waspinator struggles in
pain, while some of the Maximals try and fail to attack
Necrocide. The villain’s body eventually bursts into more oily
black, which pours into Waspinator – he quickly draws the Matrix
sword, and though Waspinator tries to stop him, he draws it
through his chest.
The Maximals watch on, stunned, as Waspinator/Necrocide writhes
in agony. The Home team are trying to coordinate an evacuation,
while timeline c Necrocide begins screaming. Timeline b
Necrocide then takes over, noting that he is going to use his
counterpart to block the light of the Matrix from harming him.
After a little more screaming and a ferocious blast of light,
the newly-born Prime stands. He introduces himself as Terminus
Prime, though says that they can continue to call him Necrocide.
Necrocide: My name is Terminus Prime. But keep calling me
Necrocide. “Terminus Prime” is just for logistical purposes.
He terminates Waspinator’s spark from within himself, and then
states that he shall recover the rest of the fragments. He
immediately tears Snapjaw’s spark out telekinetically, before
terminating it and absorbing the fragment. Mirage orders the
team back onto the ship, but Tidal Wave and Howlback have their
sparks torn loose too. Enraged, Cross-Shot tells the others to
leave as quickly as possible and fly far, far away. She then
leaps out through the closing entrance, tackling Necrocide
before quickly being killed. The Dawn Katana streaks away at
high speed, but Necrocide simply cackles. Mirage struggles to
maintain her composure as the ship soars off – Buzzstreak, in
tears herself, assures her that they shall manage, and Prophecy
sends a message out to Emberscales.
Mirage: I can’t… can’t believe… I don’t understand how that
happened. Waspinator… he was just… just there…
Buzzstreak: *sniffling* Mirage… I’m sorry. It’ll be okay. We’ll
manage, I think. I mean, uhm…
Prophecy: Emberscales! Come in, Emberscales! Then go out and- no
wait, stay, stay and chat, Emberscales, are you there?
She explains events (in her own way), leaving the former Prime
stunned. Mirage introduces herself, and suggests that they
follow Cross-Shot’s advice and keep away from Necrocide, robbing
him of a complete Matrix. Emberscales agrees to this, and wishes
them luck. Necrocide is stood on outside of Panthalassa, and he
calls out to his empire – relieving them of their service, he
swipes his hand across the space in front of him and terminates
billions of sparks across the multiverse. He is stunned by his
new power, and decides to spend some time relishing his newfound
power over Cybertronian life and death. He speaks across to the
team on the Dawn Katana, telling them that they can run forever
if they choose, as he shall be saving them for last. He cackles
maniacally as the Maximals stand around the bridge, remorseful
and grim.

Episode 41 – Frosty Reunions
Airdate: Saturday 26th December 2015
Synopsis: Unitus Prime, Arcrise and Dinobot instantly find
themselves amidst the snowy plains of Fothai – the Prime is
confused by their destination, while Dinobot heads off on his
own, stating that he has built a psionic connection to the
Omniconfigurator and hopes to locate Galvatron.
A little while later, Unitus Prime and Arcrise have reached the
mouth of a cave, taking refuge as the flurry of snow thickens.
Unitus asks his companion if her powers have returned yet, but
she remarks that they seem to still be sealed off. She then
questions if he has any ideas on how to leave Fothai, and Unitus
suggests trying to reach out to his alternate self.
Arcrise: Do you know how Dinobot plans on leaving this planet?
Actually, do you know how we’re going to leave?
Unitus Prime: Dinobot can do as he pleases. For us… there should
be another me out there. I should be able to reach him with my
Prime abilities, so long as I can focus…
Sitting down, he begins to meditate… but he almost immediately
receives a flash of Necrocide’s mind, startling him. Arcrise
tends to him, and tries to quell his concerns. As Unitus
composes himself, he notices a ship landing down nearby – it
soon becomes clear that it is, in fact, the Dawn Katana. Arcrise
suggests that she go ahead, but Unitus is already exiting the
cavern, still reeling somewhat but insisting on investigating.
He adds that this is an extraordinary coincidence, and questions
if the ship is actually here for them. Aboard the ship,
Swingback spots the two figures approaching from the distance –
the ship’s A.I. informs them that the cavern they need is not
far from here, and Mirage makes clear that they must be quick in
case Necrocide finds them.
Swingback: Erm, guys? We’ve got two figures walking towards us…
no idea how close because, y’know, it’s snowing like crazy out
there, but they’re definitely coming our way.
Dawn Katana: The cavern isn’t far from here. You might be able
to get there before they reach us. Well, depending on how far
away they are.
Mirage: It’s not them I’m worried about. It’s Necrocide. We
can’t let him find us… let’s get this done quickly and leave.
Buzzstreak steps forward, although we do not see her, and offers
to lead Paladin and Wildfire out to investigate the figures and
find the cavern that they need. As Unitus and Arcrise continue
to approach through the snowstorm, they witness three figures
departing the ship. The two parties finally meet in the midst of
the storm, Buzzstreak taking Unitus’ hand and drawing him close:
as they stand face-to-face, they are both stunned. Buzzstreak’s
appearance is already a little older, a little more world-weary,
with her hair grown slightly longer. Shaking, breath wavering,
she contacts Mirage and informs her that Waspinator is alive.
The two timeline b survivors are brought aboard the Dawn Katana
– Mirage is immediately dismissive of Unitus Prime, believing
him to be an imposter or a dream. Unitus insists that he is
real, simply from another timeline. He then asks what has
happened to him in this universe, and the Maximals explain their
return to Panthalassa upon gathering all of the fragments, with
Necrocide appearing (also claiming to be incorporating another
him from a different timeline) and appropriating Waspinator’s
body. Buzzstreak reminds everyone that Necrocide had claimed
Waspinator to be a One True Prime candidate – Unitus then
introduces himself with his new name, unveils his Matrix, and
states that the Necrocide that appeared must be from the same
timeline as him.
Buzzstreak: Don’t forget what he said, though. It wasn’t on a
whim. He was saying that Waspinator could be the One True Prime.
Unitus Prime: Ah… that makes sense. *he opens his chest,
unveiling the One True Matrix* My name now is Unitus Prime. I
imagine that this second Necrocide came from the same timeline
as me, somehow.
Mirage still refuses to easily accept this, while Arcrise asks
the group why they are on Fothai. Wildfire explains that they
have heard of a Paradise box containing devices that can protect
them from Necrocide’s reach. Unitus immediately advises them
against using the devices, and tries to explain the Debt
Collector, but Mirage silences him and has Buzzstreak continue
to lead Paladin and Wildfire on their scouting mission. The trio
head off, with Buzzstreak noticing as Unitus watches her leave.
Before Mirage can continue talking to the new arrivals, Prophecy
takes them both by the wrist and leads them into the ship;
Mirage follows in annoyance. They soon reach the room in which
Arcrise’s egg is sat – Prophecy leads the two in, and Arcrise
observes that her alternate self is all but dead within the egg.
Prophecy: Ta-da! It’s the Arcrise egg room place location part
of the ship!
*the Arcrise egg is unchanged from the size it was during the
Iudicium incident; Arcrise steps forward*
Arcrise: She’s… pretty much dead. I can’t quite sense why, but
she died around the time you did, Unitus.
She embraces it, and steadily absorbs it all into herself as
Unitus, Prophecy and Mirage watch on. The process complete,
Arcrise turns to Unitus and tells him that her powers are active
again. Taken aback by this, Mirage relents, and asks Unitus what
happened in his timeline to make it go so wrong.
Most of the Maximals are in the bridge of the Dawn Katana
again, with only Buzzstreak, Paladin and Wildfire still gone.
Unitus Prime explains that, rather than immediately returning to
Panthalassa, his team wound up stranded on Valoran, leaving only
when it was learnt that Necrocide wanted the Matrix. They
returned to the conflict only when Necrocide managed to locate
the Matrix, and he managed to wipe out almost every Cybertronian
in one fell swoop.
Unitus Prime: We spent a little while flying around here and
there… then Emberscales contacted us. Necrocide had found some
way to locate the Matrix, so there was no point in us skulking
around beyond his reach. We were brought back into the conflict…
and then Necrocide killed almost every Cybertronian in one go.
Everyone everywhere, with some kind of computer connected to our
sparks. It took one moment to bring us all to the edge of
extinction.
Those who survived attempted to come together under Unitus’
leadership, but with the actions of an organisation known as the
Anti-Cybertronian League and the influence of the Debt
Collector, only he and a few others survived. Of course, all of
the Maximals recognise the Debt Collector’s name (barring
Prophecy, who is utterly oblivious) – Arcrise explains that the
Paradise box was planted by the Debt Collector, and the Hope
Braces inside were intended to be worn by those bots she
manipulated. Mirage ponders aloud what branched the timelines,
but Buzzstreak, Paladin and Wildfire return before Unitus can
explain. The trio hand out the Hope Braces, with Paladin quickly
noticing that Unitus already has one. The Prime shares a glance
with Arcrise, and Mirage tells him that they need the Braces to
help protect themselves from Necrocide.
Mirage: We need to wear these. We came here to get these, flying
dangerously close to the ruins which Necrocide keeps returning
to. If he finds us, and gets our fragments, it really is over.
That one fell swoop of yours? He’ll do that and he won’t miss
anyone. These will mask us from him. They’re vital.
Unitus agrees to it, as all but Prophecy don one of the Hope
Braces. Swingback observes that there are still seven Braces
left, and Unitus explains that there are certain other
Cybertronians, also visited by the Debt Collector, who must wear
them (Buzzstreak’s eyes widen at the mention of the Debt
Collector). The Dawn Katana re-registers Unitus and registers
Arcrise, stating that the crew is now at ten; Mirage corrects
him as only nine, while Unitus and Buzzstreak share quick,
complicated glances. While stating that she is still not
entirely convinced by Unitus’ story, Mirage charts a quick
course away from Fothai.
As the opened and empty Paradise box rests in the Infinity
chamber, the familiar figure of the Debt Collector wanders in.
Checking the box, she then smirks deviously, and assures thin
air that victory is certain.

Episode 42 – At Risk of Drowning
Airdate: Saturday 2nd January 2016
Synopsis: Most of the Maximals are stood nonplussed amongst a
baying crowd. Mirage questions the necessity of what is
happening, as we see Unitus Prime and Arcrise swiftly defeating
the competition in the arena below. The team are clearly on
Valoran – the two fighters win their match.
A little while later, the team return to the Dawn Katana, with
Arcrise carrying their collection of nine Timaeus drives and
Unitus Prime holding the Lokon blade. Mirage again questions the
need for these items, and Unitus explains that the blade is an
important item that needs to be kept from enemy hands, while the
drives are necessary for them to find one of their allies. With
the crew aboard, the ship blasts away at high speed; Unitus
states that they shall need to land down somewhere quiet to use
the drives, and begins detailing the circumstances that they
shall be greeted with at their destination. Mirage cuts him off,
stating that he is not their leader, but he reminds her that he
knows what they need to do right now.
Mirage: Stop. Just stop, “Unitus Prime”. You’re not the leader
here, and we don’t need your sit-rep.
Unitus Prime: I’m not trying to undermine you, Mirage. I don’t
feel that I am. Right now, I know more about what we need to do
than anyone else here. I’m just trying to make things easier for
the rest of you – for your crew.
The others – especially Buzzstreak, Wildfire and Swingback –
find the situation increasingly awkward, and Arcrise steps in to
lead Unitus away, suggesting they wait until they have landed
before discussing the situation. Buzzstreak follows, and quietly
explains to the Prime that Mirage is still shaken by his
“return”. She elaborates that the former pharaoh was deeply
affected by losing Waspinator, even if she tried not to show it.
Unitus nods, and suggests that it will take Mirage a little
while to accept him, and she may struggle to ever love him.
Unitus Prime: Mhm… knowing her, it’s going to take a while
before she’s ready to accept me. And even then, I’m not sure if
she’ll ever be able to love me… I might always feel like a ghost
or a double to her.
Buzzstreak’s eyes light up a little at this, but she tries to
mask it, and heads off to prepare. Once she has left, Arcrise
turns to Unitus, and warns him that he must be straight with
her. The Prime agrees, but that he does not want her to feel
bound by her alternate self’s suicide, nor does he want to think
of this Buzzstreak as nothing more than a second chance. Arcrise
reminds him that part of the reason he accepted this new
timeline is to bring Buzzstreak back, but he notes that he did
not consider beforehand that the citizens of this timeline would
live their own lives, unaware of the origins of it all.
The Dawn Katana lands down in a large field surrounded by
hills. The team exit the ship, and Unitus again summarises their
destination while the others don their new Timaeus drives.
Arcrise remotely programmes in the coordinates, and Unitus
guides them in using the drives – punching forward, turning your
fist, and then bringing it back and pulling yourself through
into another universe. Gathered together on a seafront, they are
greeted by the sight of a fortress burning and in ruins. Unitus
is immediately concerned and Scale states that Necrocide has
already been here. The Prime tells the group to fan out and look
for a young black-and-white fembot – or indeed, any survivors at
all.
Unitus Prime: Spread out. Fan out across the area. The bot we’re
looking for is black and white, and female… but if you find
anyone, help them.
Mirage suggests that they give up already, but Unitus snaps back
at her that they must search. She in turn angrily orders him not
to yell at her, while the others begin fanning out, searching.
Arcrise reaches out to the fortress, and begins to quell the
flames – interrupting Unitus and Mirage again, she reminds the
hornet-bot that Andromeda had a hidden treasure vault in her
room. He immediately transforms and flies into the building,
even as the inferno continues. Travelling through, desperately
trying to remember the location of Andromeda’s room, Arcrise
telepathically guides him. Finding the room, he opens the
treasure vault and searches, but finds it empty, much to his
distress. Outside, the others are still searching, to no avail…
until Wildfire telekinetically moves a boulder, and unveils a
shallow cavern containing Andromeda. She immediately grabs him
into a hug, thanking him in tears and flustering him greatly.
Andromeda: Oh Primus! Thank you! Thank you so, so, so much! I
thought… I thought I’d be here forever! I thought the tide would
drown me! Oh thank you, thank you!
Wildfire: You’re… uhm… ah… err… you’re hugging… you’re holding…
you’re welcome… but you… I…
Arcrise passes this information on to Unitus – relieved, he
tells her to have the others keep searching for any survivors,
while he notices the trunk containing the Ignition keys.
The Maximals gather as Andromeda tries to compose herself,
still dr*ped over a worked-up Wildfire. She shakily introduces
herself, and explains that a dark being claiming to be a Prime
appeared and slaughtered everyone. She managed to escape by
hiding away, although Paladin finds it peculiar that Necrocide
did not sense her presence. Buzzstreak suggests that the Debt
Collector is protecting her, and all of them, if what Unitus
Prime believes is true.
Buzzstreak: Maybe something’s protecting her? What if it’s that…
Debt Collector or whatever Unitus said her name is? Perhaps she
protected her… perhaps she’s protecting all of us.
Swingback manages to peel Andromeda off of Wildfire, who has all
but fainted in embarrassment, while Unitus returns with the
Ignition key trunk. Andromeda is surprised, and goes to explain
that she found it on the shore before, but Unitus simply asks
Prophecy to open the trunk. He assures Andromeda that she is
safe, and that he knows about her already (Mirage elaborates,
rather dismissively, that he is supposedly from an alternate
timeline). Arcrise removes the Ignition keys from the now-open
trunk, as Andromeda watches on in confusion – the powerful
fembot then levitates the trunk into the water… which disturbs
Cetus, the gigantic aquatic creature which breaks the surface
moments later. Unitus tells Andromeda that she has to come with
them, and that it will not be easy; the younger bot has no
concerns about that, insisting that Cetus will consume them all
(or they will likely drown even if they get away) and that she
has nothing left here. The creature approaches quickly, as
Unitus gives Andromeda a Timaeus drive – the team start to
leave, but as the waves begin to crash at the shore, Buzzstreak
is almost swept away. Unitus manages to grab her arm, and they
quickly travel back to the Dawn Katana. The bee-bot thanks the
Prime for saving her, observing that she could have died, only
to be surprised by how dark his expression is.
Buzzstreak: Thanks! Wow… that was close. I could’ve died if you
didn’t grab me…
*Unitus’ expression quickly grows dark, not looking directly at
her*
Buzzstreak: What? It’s true… I… uhm…
Andromeda is confused, but Mirage draws her attention instead,
welcoming her to the crew and leading her aboard.

Episode 43 – Like Putty in the Hands
Airdate: Saturday 9th January 2016
Synopsis: Two Cybertronians run, hand-in-hand, as their home
city burns and screams echo through the flames. One of the pair
stumbles, and his partner pulls him back to his feet… but the
moment’s delay is too much, and Necrocide finds them. The false
Prime smirks in deranged glee, reaching towards them as they try
not to scream.
Scale and Paladin are sparring together, closely matched with
their own styles of attack balancing one another. Swingback
watches on, impressed, and questions how they can be so focused
in their attacks while she largely improvises with her athletic
abilities. The mechs both agree that her technique is sufficient
enough, just as Unitus Prime enters. The atmosphere immediately
becomes awkward, and Unitus tells them that it is okay – he is
the same person they knew, just as they are the same people he
knew. Paladin immediately disagrees with this, claiming that he
was not there with them during their travels through the
Yuunatez system or when they passed through the Halls of
Somnius. Scale and Swingback agree, with Swingback noting that,
while he may have known alternate versions of them, they are not
exactly the same and that Unitus’ presence is still surreal and
raw for them.
Scale: Exactly. You don’t know us.
Swingback: Yeah, there’s probably not a whole load of difference
in our personalities and everything… I guess we seem the same to
you… but we’re not. You’re not our Waspinator and we’re not your
team. So it’s just kind of weird for us right now. You’re you…
you’re him… but we came to terms with what happened to you. You
being here is strange and it’s kind of uncomfortable… no hard
feelings, though.
The Dawn Katana A.I. then informs them that they have arrived at
their destination. The Maximals gather in the ship’s bridge –
Mirage explains that they are to be swift in retrieving the
Cybertronian here. Unitus then explains that they are looking
for a medic named Noxa; he elaborates that Mirage was the one to
first meet him (and quickly corrects himself when he addresses
Mirage directly).
Unitus Prime: The bot we’re after here is a mech, a medic named
Noxa. I don’t know too much about his circumstances here - *he
looks to Mirage* Actually, you- … I mean, my Mirage… was the one
who met him first.
The team heads out to the bustling city, and Unitus notices
Wildfire staring at him. He whispers to Arcrise that he is
beginning to feel uncomfortable with the way the others act
around him, and she suggests that he open up to them more about
timeline b. Buzzstreak agrees to this, having been stood behind
the two and overheard their comments. Mirage suggests they split
up to search, and Buzzstreak sticks with Unitus as they team
splits into three groups – Mirage with Wildfire and Andromeda,
Scale with Prophecy, Paladin and Arcrise, and Unitus with
Buzzstreak and Swingback.
Leviathan heads through space – on board, Necrocide traipses
through corridors full of the corpses of his imperial followers.
He informs them that he is intrigued by the appearance of the
Dawn Katana crew in the local region of space, suggesting they
have grown bold in light of their continued existence. Adding
that he sensed another Prime attempting to reach out to him, he
wonders if the two are connected and “surprises” his crew by
announcing that they are headed to meet the Maximals.
Necrocide: And then there was that… feeling. That tickling in my
chest a little while ago. I know what it was, of course… another
Prime. Good old Unitus Prime must be here. Now, I wonder if
there’s a connection? Ooh, ooh! I have a surprise for you all!
Guess what – we’re going to stop by and see what the Maximals
are up to! Let’s go.
Scale and Paladin effectively ignore Arcrise, who is busy being
quizzed by Prophecy (half of the questions being completely
inane and unrelated to one another); Wildfire attempts to chat
with Andromeda, though he finds it difficult to both muster the
nerves and find a topic that requires more than a brief
exchange. Mirage does her best to ignore the younger pair’s
antics, and notices a medical facility up ahead. As Unitus Prime
leads his team on, Swingback asks Buzzstreak why she feels so
drawn to their returned former leader. The younger bot tries to
explain that she wants to accept him and to celebrate that he is
back in their lives.
Buzzstreak: I just… want to know him. I want to accept him. I
know you and the others feel weird about him, but he’s still the
same person all-in-all. He’s back in our lives, and I want to
celebrate that.
Swingback begins to challenge this viewpoint, but many of the
citizens begin screaming – Leviathan is looming above. Mirage
contacts the group just then, informing them that she has
located Noxa. Unitus states that he shall be there quickly, and
passes on the information about Necrocide’s impending approach.
Swingback begins preparing to run to Mirage’s location, but
Unitus guides her and Buzzstreak in teleporting straight there
via the Hope Braces. They reach the medical facility, where
Mirage quickly introduces an overwhelmed Noxa to Unitus and asks
the Prime to explain things concisely while she contacts Scale’s
group.
The streets are already in chaos as Necrocide teleports down –
giggling madly to himself, he casually kills citizens as he
makes his way towards the medical facility. Inside, Unitus Prime
bluntly explains that Noxa is one of the Final Thirteen destined
to lead the Cybertronian race, and that he must don a Hope Brace
and leave with them. The medic is uncertain, and tries to avoid
making contact with Unitus; Arcrise suggests that he does not
yet have full control over his death touch, and the Prime places
a Hope Brace on the desk, pleading Noxa to wear it. Instead,
Noxa takes a step back, and asks why he should trust these new
arrivals, even as Scale’s group arrives.
Noxa: No. I’m not going to just accept this. Why should I even
trust you? I need… I need rational reasoning, I need evidence
and facts…
Unitus insists that Noxa is needed to help save their race, and
the medic looks between the hornet-bot and Necrocide approaching
from outside. He then places the Hope Brace on his wrist, just
as Necrocide’s oily tendrils break through the windows and
ensnare him. The Maximals can barely respond before Noxa is
drawn out of the building and into Necrocide’s grasp. The
sinister Valoranian questions the motives of the heroes, and
greets Unitus, Arcrise and Andromeda. Despite Mirage’s
insistence otherwise, Unitus dives out to retrieve Noxa –
Necrocide smirks and teleports away with Noxa, only to return
moments later without him. Utterly ignoring the Maximals, he
begins attacking the citizens, and Mirage orders the team to
leave. Unitus lashes out at Mirage, stating that they should not
have abandoned the citizens to death. Mirage reminds him that
there is nothing that they can do, despite his insistence
otherwise. Arcrise resorts to knocking him out. A little while
later, he drearily awakens on the Dawn Katana, and finds
Buzzstreak watching over him. She asks him if she died in his
timeline, and though he tries to deflect her by stating that
everyone did, he then confirms that the first difference between
their timelines is whether she chose to take her own life or
not. Upset by this, Buzzstreak apologises for having put him
through that.
Buzzstreak: I died in your timeline. Didn’t I? You look at me
like I’m a ghost… the same way the others look at you.
Unitus Prime: You all died. There was practically no one left
when I came here.
Buzzstreak: But I’m different.
Unitus Prime: You’re…
Buzzstreak: Tell me. Please.
Unitus Prime: … the point of divergence between my timeline and
yours – the first difference – was whether or not you chose to…
to kill yourself.
*Buzzstreak is visibly shaken by this, and then lowers her head
darkly*
Buzzstreak: I’m sorry. I’m sorry that you had to go through that
because of me…

Episode 44 – Face Thyself
Airdate: Saturday 16th January 2016
Synopsis: A grim, seedy alien bar in the dark reaches of space;
a cloaked figure passes through, gaining the attention of some
of the aliens. Reaching an enclosed area of the bar, the figure
is greeted by a somewhat reptilian alien, who asks how he can
help. The figure lowers his cloak – Dinobot informs the alien
that he needs to track his team.
The alien, Greidus, leads Dinobot down into the deeper levels
of the bar – down here, the atmosphere of the bar gives way to
an almost clinical facility. Greidus asks Dinobot if he is
familiar with the area, and the Utahraptor-bot states that he
is, even though the facility’s computer systems do not recognise
him. Nonplussed by this, Greidus guides Dinobot to the Telenos
System, which he explains will light the way to the destination
that one most desires to reach.
Greidus: Hm. Anyway… just through here is the Telenos System.
Your chances are far better with this than anything else I can
set you up with. Sit in the central chamber, and feel your way
through the projections of the known universe around you.
Whatever you want to find the most, it’ll light the way.
Dinobot sits down within the chamber and begins to reach out…
with the result bringing up Earth. The lone bot grimaces, and
thanks Greidus for the service. He goes to leave, but Greidus
warns him that rumours have been spreading in the underworld
about the state of Earth. Dinobot grimly tells him that he
knows, and states that he is probably a dead bot walking
already. Outside of the bar, Dinobot returns to his new ship –
still somewhat frost-bitten, it is clearly a rundown ship from
somewhere on Fothai. Stepping aboard, much of the consoles are
stripped to the bare minimum (indeed, we see Greidus inspecting
the various parts, clearly Dinobot’s payment for his services).
The ship soars off, headed for Earth. Auto-pilot engaged,
Dinobot wraps his cloak tighter around himself and sits,
contemplative and remorseful. He begins to monologue out loud,
pondering his path in life as of late, his place amongst the
destiny of the Cybertronian race, and whether he can ever hope
to return to his ideal.
Dinobot: I am but a fool. So long ago, I dedicated myself to the
path of Predacon honour… a path that I did everything in my
power to continue upon. When I destroyed the Matrix and founded
the Archaicons, I believed I had never strayed from that path.
My honour is my guide. And yet… I was turned. So slowly that I
could not notice. My intentions were hijacked, and I was blinded
to the changes cast upon them. Users, betrayers… Sawblade, most
of all; thou art a boil, a plague sore, an embossed carbuncle in
my corrupted blood. And though my eyes have been rendered free
of their blindfold, and my path free of their dictations, I feel
myself too sullied by my errors to ever hold a place amongst my
kind. Be their fate survival, or extinction, I cannot hope to
hold myself to my mark and join them. Should the Cybertronian
race rise or fall, it shall no doubt be without me. I fear I
could never be the person I believed myself to be, that ideal
which I have strived for as long as I have drawn breath. No
fluid shall be spilt… no blade, held… no death upon my hands
lest I can grant it the honour I feel just for such a thing… no
longer shall I act… ‘til the role which I saw fit to take… is
within my ability to inhabit… once more…
As the cold continues to get to him, he falls unconscious. He
awakens a while later as the ship jolts – it is now in Earth’s
upper atmosphere, and has been locked in a tractor beam.
Sluggish, he turns off the monitors as quickly as possible,
stating “to” the Megatrons that he has no intention of dealing
with their collective ego.
The ship is brought down to dock, and Dinobot calmly exits,
cloak still on. Multiple Megatrons greet him, and attempt to
take him captive, but he resists, demanding to know where the
Archaicons are. The villains have no idea, confusing Dinobot. He
allows them to take him after all, on the condition that he can
speak with one of the highest-ranking Megatrons. The gathered
clones agree to this, and two of them lead him away – they
remark to one another on his total lack of resistance and how it
is so inherently like him.
Megatron: No resistance. No arguments. No anger or arrogance.
Megatron: Remarkable, isn’t it? He never changes – it’s all so
inherently him.
Reaching a large chamber, Megatron 3 greets Dinobot, remarking
that it is so nice to see him again so soon after his death (and
quipping that it did not even require cloning). Dinobot is
stunned by this, and Megatron 3 clarifies that Dinobot had
already come to them along with his “disciple” and had gotten
himself killed. The nefarious clone remarks that they have
already gained some knowledge of the returning presences from
another timeline, and so Dinobot’s reappearance is not much of a
surprise. Dinobot demands to know why they killed his other self
– Megatron 3 remarks that it was so that they could dissect him
and potentially clone him.
Dinobot: Why did you kill him? What purpose does it serve?
Megatron: As always, Dinobot… you are my favourite. We wanted to
explore you… intimately. Take you apart, see what makes you you.
And we are, after all, a clone race – we have the technology to
reproduce you ad infinitum.
Angered, he then asks who this “disciple” was, only for him to
be teleported away out of nowhere. Appearing in a dimly-lit,
muddy tunnel, he is intensely surprised as Sickleclaw grabs him
into a hug, on the verge of tears and stating that she thought
she would never see him again. Behind her, Dinobot notices a
range of simplistic and makeshift equipment, including a monitor
and a clunky teleport array. Sickleclaw finally withdraws from
Dinobot, saying that she thought he had died, and then properly
notices his Vok-given upgrades and his scope-lens left eye.
Confused, and believing it to be the results of Megatron
experimentation, she starts to grow angry – Dinobot calmly
informs her that he is not her Dinobot, but one from an
alternate future.
Confused, and feeling somewhat betrayed, Sickleclaw starts to
step away from Dinobot, demanding that he explain and calling
him an impostor. The older bot lists their history – including
his own actions in timeline b – and she begins to calm down.
Dinobot: No. You’re wrong. We share the same history. I found
you as you were hounded and mobbed. I taught you to use a sword
and guided you as you learnt. I brought the Archaicons together
with you at my side. And then… I poisoned your concept of
honour, broke your spark and drove you away. And I watched you
die.
Sickleclaw: So… it’s true? I mean, you’re telling me the truth?
Dinobot: Yes.
She then explains how events played out since Iudicium, with
Galvatron killing Lacerator and Sawblade and then informing
Dinobot of the existence of a clone army of Megatrons on Earth.
Dinobot left Galvatron in charge of the Archaicons while he left
to investigate; Sickleclaw chose to accompany him. Once they
landed, they were attacked, and Dinobot had Sickleclaw escape.
She has been surviving as best as she can since, while trying to
locate Dinobot. She then notices that he has no sword – he
briefly flashes back to his murder of Talenra and Sickleclaw’s
rant at him, before stating that he no longer has any right to
wield a sword.
Sickleclaw: Wait, something’s not right… oh. You don’t have a
sword…
*Dinobot scowls slightly, and we see flashes of him stabbing
Talenra through the chest and Sickleclaw’s incensed reaction*
Dinobot: I have forfeited my right to wield a blade. My hands
will never touch one again.
Sickleclaw looks disheartened at that, and tells him that he is
surely mistaken, before a mechanical rumbling is heard in the
distance. The Velociraptor-bot observes that her teleportation
has been tracked, and swiftly picks up her equipment, before
leading Dinobot away through the tunnels. A beeping on a
wrist-mounted device alerts her to something which she declares
perfect timing – she picks up her pace, with Dinobot asking what
the alert is for. She informs him that she had managed to
contact the Archaicons and summon them to Earth, in hopes of
having them help find him. As a large number of Megatrons begin
scouring the subterranean tunnels for the escapees, the pair
surfaces near one of the landing platforms within the city. A
ship is clearly coming down to land… but as it draws close, both
Raptor-bots can tell that it is clearly the Dawn Katana.
Sickleclaw is confused, while Dinobot stares solemnly, observing
that their situation is about to grow more complicated.

Episode 45 – The Temptation of Sickleclaw
Airdate: Saturday 23rd January 2016
Synopsis: The Maximals are gathered in the bridge of the Dawn
Katana; Unitus Prime recounts that they are headed into a very
dangerous location, and must try to locate Parallax – or
Megatron 1,000,000,000 – as calmly as possible. The team seem
unimpressed with this plan of action, but Unitus reminds them
how important their mission is.
Dinobot and Sickleclaw watch the Maximal ship land down; the
younger bot seems hesitant, and Dinobot asks her what she feels
they should do. After some thought, Sickleclaw concludes that
the Maximals should be willing to offer them transit away from
Earth.
Sickleclaw: They consider themselves heroes. They’d want to do
what they consider right… they’d take us away from here.
Unitus Prime and Arcrise disembark from the ship all the while,
but none of the other Maximals follow. Most of them stay stood
with Mirage, with Prophecy distracted and Buzzstreak visibly
downbeat and avoiding looking at Unitus. He turns, asking if
they really refuse to follow him – when Mirage announces that
they do not trust him enough to continually risk their lives.
Almost despondent, Unitus orders Arcrise to remain on the ship
to make sure that they do not leave while he is gone; hearing
this, Buzzstreak hurries out to join him, stating that they are
less likely to abandon her than to leave him with Arcrise still
with them. Mirage orders Buzzstreak to return, but she heads off
with the Prime. Dinobot notices his old friend’s presence, and
is unsurprised that he had found his own team so quickly.
Turning to Sickleclaw, he notices that she has disappeared –
indeed, moments later, she cautiously leaves the shadows up
ahead and approaches Unitus and Buzzstreak. Unitus is surprised,
but quickly greets her, though she asks for transit off-world
for herself and Dinobot before he can continue. Buzzstreak is
the first to notice Dinobot, and recognises that he looks
different to when she last saw him.
Buzzstreak: Unitus… I see Dinobot. He looks different… like you.
Is he your Dinobot?
Aware that he has been seen, Dinobot grimly approaches the
others, and asks why the Maximals are here. Unitus explains,
briefly, that he is trying to gather the Thirteen again, and has
come looking for Parallax. He adds that the Maximals of this
universe do not like or trust him, and so it may be difficult to
convince them to take two Archaicons – however, if they help him
find Parallax, he shall do everything he can to get them
off-world. The Raptor bots both, somewhat reluctantly, agree to
this.
Not long later, Sickleclaw is setting up her teleportation
device again, intending on sending Unitus Prime to Dinobot’s
previous location, confronting Megatron 3. All the while, Unitus
tries to talk with Buzzstreak, telling her that her alternate
self’s suicide was not her fault alone. He makes clear that he
blames himself for not supporting her or noticing her issues.
Buzzstreak counters that, fundamentally, it rests in her hands –
after all, it was only her decision whether or not to take her
life that the two timelines pivot on.
Buzzstreak: No, that doesn’t matter. What you did, or didn’t do,
that doesn’t change that it all lies on me. I mean, it’s like
you said; me taking my own life or not is the choice that our
timelines hinge on. What you did before then was the same,
everything was the same until I…
Unitus simply hugs her, telling her that he at least does not
blame her. The bumblebee-bot blushes at his embrace, while
Dinobot watches on. Sickleclaw then announces that the teleport
is ready – Unitus steps away from Buzzstreak, and states that he
is ready. The device starts up, and with a shimmer of light, the
Prime finds himself deep within the Megatrons’ facility.
Megatron 3 turns to him, surprised, but the hornet-bot simply
cuts to the chase, demanding to know where Megatron
1,000,000,000 is. Chuckling, the high-ranking clone remarks that
their final “brother” left days ago. Outside, Sickleclaw asks
Dinobot who the Thirteen are, and he explains the legend in the
Covenant of Primus regarding the Final Thirteen who shall unite
the Cybertronian race. He adds that she is one of them,
surprising her.
Dinobot: As best as I understand it, you are one of them.
Sickleclaw: What? Me? No… that’s insane. I’m no one.
Buzzstreak notes that this means that Unitus will want her to
come with the Maximals too, but Sickleclaw defensively declares
herself to be an Archaicon. At this, Dinobot comments that,
though he has no idea what Galvatron has done in the absence of
his alternate self, his Archaicons are no more. Sickleclaw
refuses to accept this, but her former leader assures her that
she seemed to be happier with the Maximals – she points out that
that was another version of her, and that she only wishes to
follow him. Grimacing, he counters that he shall not allow her
to follow him.
Unitus Prime demands any information on where Parallax went,
but Megatron 3 asks why they should tell him what little they
know. The hornet-bot simply chuckles dismissively, and remarks
that it has always been impossible to barter with Megatron.
Smirking back at this, Megatron 3 then asks if Unitus even truly
believes the words of the Covenant. Unitus drily points out that
Megatron himself believed them way back when; Megatron 3
counters that prophecies are always open to interpretation, and
scribes are as fallible as anyone.
Unitus Prime: Yes. And you were pointing out all the flaws in
the Covenant way back when we took the Nemesis.
Megatron: I took the prophecies to be in reference to myself.
Perhaps I was mistaken? That’s the joy of texts like these – you
can read into them whatever you wish to. Even the scribes are no
more Cybertronian than you or… well, than you.
The Prime states that he believes the book as it is the only
thing he can go on, before signalling to be teleported back.
After a moment’s delay, he is teleported out – Buzzstreak had to
trigger the device, as Sickleclaw is distracted in trying to
defend the Archaicons to Dinobot. Unitus interrupts the two,
informing them that Parallax has already left the planet, and
that they should do so too, quickly. Sickleclaw initially
refuses, but Dinobot reminds her that they must leave even as
she points out that the Archaicons shall be coming for them
soon. Nonetheless, Dinobot leads her off along with Unitus and
Buzzstreak. All the while, various Megatrons keep a close eye on
events via surveillance footage. The four return to the Dawn
Katana – as Mirage greets them, she is immediately dismissive
towards Dinobot and Sickleclaw. Unitus explains that they simply
need to be taken away from Earth, and that they no longer have
the right to deny any member of their race safe passage. Dinobot
simply sighs, and begins to lead Sickleclaw away, observing that
this is not a fight that they have time to go through. However,
he tells Mirage and the others that Unitus has given so much for
them, and that they would not be here now if not for his risky
actions with the Debt Collector.
Dinobot: Remember this – Unitus Prime has fought for you
tirelessly. He has given so much, time and time again, to keep
you all safe. He cares about you deeply. And you – the versions
of you stood here now – would not even exist if not for him
making a very dangerous decision. He could have refused, but he
did it for your sakes. He deserves more respect than you
evidently see fit to give him.
The two Raptor bots head off quickly, as Mirage, a little
shaken, steps aside to allow Unitus and Buzzstreak aboard.

Episode 46 – Iron
Airdate: Saturday 30th January 2016
Synopsis: Most of the Maximals are gathered in the bridge of the
Dawn Katana, with Mirage deep in thought and mulling over
Dinobot’s words from before. Eventually, she addresses the
others, announcing that she is going to give Unitus Prime
another chance. Paladin and Swingback share a bemused glance.
Unitus Prime is sat within his quarters, glum and
contemplative. A knock on the door announces Mirage’s arrival,
with Prophecy following along after her. She sits herself down,
and gently asks the Prime if he is certain that the Final
Thirteen are real. Unitus makes clear that all he has to go on
in the hopes of saving the Cybertronian race, but Mirage asks
for an explanation as to why. At a loss for words, he tells her
that he has no idea what else he can do.
Unitus Prime: I… *he exhales heavily* I don’t know. I have no
idea what else I’m supposed to do. I don’t know what I even can
do.
Almost going to embrace him, Mirage hesitates and decides to
awkwardly rub his back instead. She thanks him for everything he
has done for them, in both timelines, and stutters out an
apology for her behaviour until now – she admits that she had
thought of him simply as a strange alternate version of her
Waspinator, and not considered how they were the same person.
Unitus accepts her apology, before the two both turn to look at
Prophecy. The Aadorean wildcat-bot is confused, before suddenly,
excitedly reminding Unitus about the On’to’Ron Chronicles.
Prophecy: What? Did I say something? Oh! Oh oh oh, pick me, pick
me!
Mirage: Fire away, Prophecy…
Prophecy: Unitus, guess what? The On’to’Ron Chronicles! Remember
them? Well, them! Remember?
Mirage questions what that is, and a surprised Unitus explains
that it was another holy book, similar to the Covenant… only it
specifically detailed future predictions, rather than the
Covenant’s focus on chronicling the ancient past. Scale
announces over the speaker system that they are drawing close to
their destination; Mirage suggests they head to the bridge,
leading Unitus and Prophecy out. Necrocide stalks the ruins of
Leviathan, chuckling to himself as he passes by the wasting
corpses of Cybertronians. Reaching a specific room, he enters,
addressing Noxa… and finding, to his surprise, the Debt
Collector stood beside his Predacon captive. The chain-strewn
villain greets him, motioning to Noxa’s unconscious form and
stating that they have plenty to discuss. Necrocide stares in
curiosity, and attempts to kill her… only to find that it does
not work. The Debt Collector grins back at him.
The Dawn Katana lands down on the planet that, in timeline b,
hosted the Paradise Fortress. The whole team is gathered, and
Mirage explains that there should be no Cybertronians on the
planet, making the task of finding their target easier.
Buzzstreak is quick to notice how close Unitus Prime and Mirage
are stood to one another, with the others realising it too and
more openly commenting on it. Mirage reacts awkwardly, telling
them not to think about personal relationships when they are
about to set off on a mission. The group departs – Mirage
briefly glances back into the ship, before continuing on,
looking confused. Necrocide questions why he is unable to kill
the Debt Collector, and she explains that her spark is beyond
the reach of even a Prime.
Necrocide: Funny… hilariously, intriguingly funny. You’re every
bit as Cybertronian as my would-be underlings, but I can’t snuff
you out.
Debt Collector: I’m a little more than them, if you’ll excuse my
understatement. My spark is beyond you and your impressive
reach. Tap into as much of Primus’ power as you like; he’s the
only one who could even hope to wipe my spark out with a
gesture.
She then congratulates him on his ascension, and tells him that
it will not last. Smirk almost breaking, Necrocide goes to
attack her, but she teleports out of his way – reappearing
behind him, she notes that she had hoped they could have a
mature conversation. “Terminus Prime” laughs, and asks what the
intruder wants. The Maximals search for Ferros all the while;
Scale remarks that Mirage has given in too readily to Dinobot’s
words, and has accepted Unitus just because of her relationship
with “him” before. Swingback disagrees, stating that Dinobot was
right and that they should open up to this second chance. The
former-mercenary corrects her, saying that he agrees, but that
Mirage has made a complete turn-around far too quickly for his
liking.
Scale: No, I agree with that. He were all a little too harsh. It
happens in this sort of situation… as uncommon as I’d hope they
are. Still, Mirage has gone from being the most staunchly
against him of all of us, to practically rubbing shoulders with
him. It’s disconcerting.
Wildfire chimes in over the comm.-link, telling them that he is
just glad that she has calmed down over him. He chuckles that
she really does love him after all, which causes Buzzstreak to
grimace beside him. Andromeda then comments that Wildfire would
know all about love, causing him to freeze up in embarrassment.
Sitting on thin air, the Debt Collector explains to Necrocide
that she wants to make sure that he does not get in her way. The
false Prime astutely observes that the Maximals wanted Noxa and
so that may be what she is referring to; the chain-strewn
villain tells him that he is close to the mark. However, she
does not need the Maximals to have Noxa, simply to believe that
they do. As such, he must tread carefully where Noxa is
concerned. Necrocide asks why he should honour her request, and
she says that she may let him live if he does. The false Prime
laughs in her face, and the Debt Collector suggests he be
careful as the rest of his ship has now been displaced across
the universe.
Necrocide: How honest of you to disclose your intentions to me.
If I were you, I would’ve lied. Why should I honour that
request, hm? What good does it do me to play along with you?
Debt Collector: Help me out and, once the dust settles, I may
see to it that you live.
*Necrocide immediately laughs*
Necrocide: You really mean that, too! You must be crazy!
Debt Collector: I see you doubt me. Careful, Necrocide… No,
really, careful. When you leave the room, I mean. The
constituent atoms of the rest of Leviathan are, at present,
evenly distributed across the known universe.
Surprised, Necrocide checks beyond the door and finds empty
space. By the time he turns back, the Debt Collector has
vanished. The Maximals are having no luck in locating Ferros;
Paladin asks Unitus Prime and Mirage if they should give up, and
after receiving a reassuring look from Mirage, the Prime agrees,
summoning everyone back. Arcrise asks Unitus what he intends on
doing now, and he tells her that he wants to find the On’to’Ron
Chronicles and confirm whether or not the Final Thirteen are
predicted by it, too.
Arcrise: You’ve given up.
Unitus Prime: No, I’ve changed my mind.
Arcrise: True. You’re not the type to give up. What’s the plan
now?
Unitus Prime: Find the On’to’Ron Chronicles. See if they mention
the Final Thirteen too… see if they back up what the Covenant
says.
As the Maximals begin to gather again, he ponders aloud where
Ferros is. Noxa slowly awakens to find Necrocide trying to work
out what to do next; the scientist is confused, and Necrocide
opens the door to demonstrate what has happened. When he does,
he finds not empty space, but the open door of the Epsilon-Zero
– Ferros is stood in the doorway, flanked by Hummingstreak,
Ripple, Straight-Aim, Freeline, Quickpaw, Umbraven and Parallax,
all (but Parallax) wearing padlock devices on their chests. He
states calmly that Necrocide is to hand Noxa over, and the
villain tilts his head, grinning insanely. He reaches out to
them, to no effect, and Ferros repeats his demand.

Episode 47 – Wish Upon a Star
Airdate: Saturday 6th February 2016
Synopsis: Somewhere run-down and miles from the Megatrons’
facility, Dinobot and Sickleclaw are trying to rest, sheltered
from the rain. The younger bot’s wrist-mounted device begins
beeping, bringing her to attention. As Dinobot turns to her, she
tells him that the Archaicons have finally arrived.
The two Raptor-bots head towards a clearing, where a ship is
coming down to land. Dinobot recognises it as the Dawn Katana
again, but Sickleclaw observes that she has received a message
from Galvatron noting that they were due to arrive. As the ship
lands down, it is apparent that it is covered in crimson and
black markings, with the Archaicon insignia clearly emblazoned
on one side. Dinobot narrows his eyebrows, as the door of the
ship opens. Galvatron, reformatted, greets the stranded pair,
and (focusing specifically on Dinobot) observes that it has been
a while.
Galvatron: Welcome, Sickleclaw, Dinobot. It’s been a long, long
while.
She steps aside to allow the pair on-board, and as they step
inside the ship, they find that it is as similar to the Dawn
Katana on the inside. The ship’s female A.I. greets them,
introducing herself as the Renegade Wish. Sickleclaw comments
offhandedly that it must be the same model of ship as the
Maximals’, while Dinobot notices some of the crew (including
Kickback and Rapax) staring at him in surprise. He asks
Galvatron how the entire faction manage to live within a
relatively small ship, and she tells him that she has trimmed
the numbers down. Only those most loyal to the faction’s cause,
and most capable of acting towards it, have remained. Dinobot
reminds her that his faction was meant to be inclusive of anyone
who wanted to join, and the former tyrant counters that his
Archaicons were corrupted and disbanded. This is her faction,
and its aim is to free the Cybertronian race from any threat or
opposition. Dinobot begrudgingly concedes that he no longer has
any say over the Archaicons, but adds that he personally
disapproves of how his successor is leading the faction.
Dinobot: You’re right. My other self gave you control over the
Archaicons, and it is no longer my place to dictate how they
operate. All the same, I have no respect for the way you’ve
chosen to lead this faction.
Effectively ignoring his statement, Galvatron notes how lucky
the pair are two have been on Earth, as it likely kept them safe
from Necrocide. The Raptor-bots are confused, and Galvatron
tells them that Necrocide has been steadily eradicating the
Cybertronian race for the past while – it is likely only him
considering the Megatron-inhabited Earth to be hell that he
never bothered to come for them.
Scorpinax guides Dinobot and Sickleclaw around the Renegade
Wish, introducing them to a reasonably intense regime.
Sickleclaw notes that she had never trusted Galvatron, and
Dinobot explains to her that Galvatron was once the leader of
the Conglomeration, the combined forces of myriad universes’
Decepticons, Predacons and more. She was unilaterally focused on
her goals, remarkably fierce, and answered to no one. After her
death at Necrocide’s hands, he had gone on to revive her and
send her to Earth… whereupon she took the artificial spark from
a Megatron and broke free from Necrocide’s control.
Dinobot: When Necrocide first became false Prime-
Sickleclaw: And when you destroyed the Matrix…
Dinobot: Mhm, with Galvatron’s plasma cannon. She refused to bow
to Necrocide, and he killed her. Months later, he returned, and
revived her… as I understand it, he had kept a hold of her mind,
and implanted it back into her spark-less shell. He sent her to
Earth, and she took one of the Megatrons’ artificial sparks as
her own. With that, she was freed from his control.
The two of them were some of the last bots to remain, and he
asked her to use a device known as the Omniconfigurator to
travel further back into this new timeline, to save his
alternate self from the influence of Lacerator and Sawblade.
Sickleclaw picks up the story from there, saying that Galvatron
had informed Dinobot about the Megatrons on Earth and he had
decided to leave, placing the faction in her hands… all while
clearly knowing the type of person she was. Airazor, stood
nearby, chimes in that she has since explained everything to the
rest of them. She had convinced Dinobot of the truth of timeline
b’s existence and that her actions were on the behalf of an
alternate Dinobot. Her placement was meant to only be temporary,
until the arrival of the previous timeline’s Dinobot… though
Airazor states that he would rather lead. Sickleclaw snarls that
she is surprised to see Airazor amongst Galvatron’s team, and he
remarks that he never backs down from challenging circumstances.
Sickleclaw: Oh, you’re still here. Thought Galvatron would’ve
scared you off…
Airazor: Of course not! No matter the challenge, I don’t back
down! Gimme some credit…
He adds that others, like Huntdown, could not leave quickly
enough… while he is now Galvatron’s appointed Horseman of War.
Sickleclaw scowls, and Airazor chuckles that the faction has
done well without her. Getting angrier, the Velociraptor-bot
turns to Dinobot… only to find that he has vanished.
In the bridge of the Renegade Wish, Galvatron is talking with
the A.I. and Haywire; Dinobot is surprised to see the
wire-strewn bot, and she looks at him cautiously as he
approaches. Galvatron notices, and assures Haywire that he is
the Dinobot that she has mentioned before. She then tells
Dinobot that she had used the Omniconfigurator to read who else
had joined his Archaicons since Iudicium before tracking them
down.
Galvatron: I assumed you would have some newer followers who
would be of use to me. I used the Omniconfigurator to generate a
list of your Archaicons, worked out who wasn’t on the team on
Iudicium and tracked some of them down.
Haywire is her Horseman of Death – Scorpinax is Conquest,
Airazor is War, and Toxiclaw is Famine. The Omniconfigurator is
currently transformed as the markings on the ship, keeping the
faction safe from Necrocide so long as they are on board.
Dinobot tells her that he has no intentions of regaining control
of the Archaicons – he disbanded them in timeline b because he
realised that their ethos could never hold up in a world with
people like her. Galvatron laughs, and states that only her
enemies would ever think that of her. When Dinobot asks her why
she never simply sat down with Nova Supreme and try to reach an
agreeable situation, she tells him that it was never an option.
Dinobot: Really? Answer me this, Galvatron – why did you never
just sit down with Nova Supreme and talk? Why didn’t you try to
find a peaceful solution?
Galvatron: Because that was never an option. Never will be.
Smiling faintly, Dinobot tells her that, having served in three
different factions, he knows that she is wrong. He makes clear
that he intends on leaving, as Sickleclaw, Scorpinax, Airazor
and Toxiclaw all enter the bridge. Turning to Sickleclaw, he
makes clear to her that his Archaicons are no more – here, or
with him. Instead, she must choose whether she will stay with
Galvatron’s faction, or stay with him… neither of which are her
ideal. He begins to add that she shall be safer on this ship,
but she walks straight to his side, telling him that they need
each other. The Renegade Wish states that they shall be landing
shortly, and Galvatron tells the two that they can take a ship
from their destination; thanking her coarsely, Dinobot turns to
Sickleclaw, who gives him a comforting smile.

Episode 48 – Chronicles
Airdate: Saturday 13th February 2016
Synopsis: Buzzstreak is sat in her room, visibly upset and deep
in thought. She is distracted as Prophecy, outside her door,
begins humming Fauré’s Pavane – when the younger bot opens the
door, Prophecy congratulates her. Both of them are confused as
to what she means, and the Aadorean wildcat-bot proceeds to skip
off, humming again.
In the bridge of the Dawn Katana, Unitus Prime, Paladin, Mirage
and Arcrise are discussing their next plan of action. The Prime
is explaining the On’to’Ron Chronicles – a book that is often
considered to be the counterpart to the Covenant of Primus,
detailing that which is yet to happen, and which is purportedly
an interpretation of the Covenant penned by the Fallen. Arcrise
adds that she believes it is located on Chaar, although there is
no certainty that it will be there. Leaning back in his chair,
Paladin clarifies that they need to cross-reference the possible
existence of the Final Thirteen with the book, and Mirage states
that they have no greater priority right now.
Paladin: So, from the top… we’re not sure if the Final Thirteen
are real, so we need to get the On’to’Ron Chronicles to see if
they mention them.
Mirage: One book in the whole universe. It’s a monumental
challenge, but we have to do it. We don’t have anything else to
do that matters as much as this.
The ship’s A.I. states that they are a few minutes away from
Chaar, and Mirage summons the others to the bridge even as Scale
enters. He notes wryly that he was getting bored of waiting and
training, taking a seat. Chaar looms up ahead, and Unitus and
Mirage stare out at it anxiously. All the while, Noxa groggily
awakens aboard the Epsilon-Zero – he is greeted by an excited
Hummingstreak, who’s rapid-fire talk quickly overwhelms him.
Ripple draws her friend away, and welcomes the medic, explaining
that they recovered him from Necrocide. Noxa is surprised,
stating that a venture like that would be suicide, before
noticing the padlock device on Ripple’s chest. The otter-bot
explains that it is a Sparklock, which holds technology capable
of keeping their sparks safe from Necrocide’s reach.
Ripple: Okay, well, it’s called a Sparklock, and it…
something-quantum-something-something,
way-over-most-people’s-heads science stuff… the long and short
of it is, these things keep our sparks shielded from Necrocide.
She adds that their team is capable of holding its own in a
physical fight against Necrocide, but they managed to retrieve
Noxa solely on the shock factor of the false Prime being unable
to kill them with a gesture. Noxa is clearly grateful, before
asking why they rescued him; Hummingstreak pops up again, and
says that it is rather complicated.
The Dawn Katana sits in the barren ruins of Chaar, as the
Maximals trek across its surface – Swingback asks why Arcrise
believes the On’to’Ron Chronicles to be here, and the
phoenix-bot responds that it had been in the possession of
Emberscales Prime when she built the new timeline. This
statement rears up confusion over timelines and Arcrise’s role,
side-tracking the conversation.
Swingback: I thought… there was a button or something that made
this timeline?
Wildfire: Was that the button we were going to press, or another
button?
Swingback: A different one… right?
Arcrise: Yes, that was a Quantum Stopwatch, you’re thinking of
the Quantum Reset Button…
Paladin: Hate to sound obtuse, but what’s the difference?
Unitus Prime: The Debt Collector made the Stopwatch and it just
alternates between my timeline and yours… the Button’s a
randomiser. And no, this is something else.
Arcrise: It was when I was still the Machine-
Andromeda: Was this a Quantum Machine?
Arcrise: No, Arcrise Machine.
Wildfire: Named after you?
Arcrise: No, I’m named after the Machi- I WAS the Machine, at
first, sort of, but I was also- look, it doesn’t matter, I was
the Machine, okay?
Swingback: Before you continue, gimme five seconds to catch up
on what you’ve said so far…
Eventually, a basic summary is reached – that there was an older
timeline, during which Unitus Prime(/Waspinator) and many others
fought and saved reality. Eventually, it buckled under its own
monumental significance, and Arcrise (then a machine) was used
to build a new timeline, the one which eventually split into
Unitus’ old timeline and this one. As the team enters a
crumbling building, Arcrise concludes that she believes that the
book was displaced from Emberscales’ possession and wound up
here, keeping it safe from Cybertron’s eventual destruction.
Wildfire requests that the team do not split up to search,
stirring general amusement, though Buzzstreak is lost in her
thoughts and does not respond. Andromeda steps over to her as
the others continue talking, and hugs her, taking the
bumblebee-bot by surprise. Hummingstreak and Ripple lead Noxa
into the bridge of the Epsilon-Zero, and introduce him to the
other crew members. Straight-Aim, Freeline and Quickpaw greet
him cheerily, while Parallax is somewhat more restrained; Ferros
(piloting the ship) and Umbraven pay him little mind, and
Quickpaw forces Umbraven to introduce herself. Noxa asks who the
leader is, and Straight-Aim tells him that it is Hex – he points
to a hexagonal display fitted into the bridge’s computer
systems, with various sentences visible.
Noxa: It’s a pleasure to meet you all. So, for reference, who’s
the leader here?
Straight-Aim: That’d be Hex – right over there.
Hex is the team’s benefactor, an unknown figure who guides them.
Taken aback for a moment, Noxa then asks who is the team’s field
leader, and is responded to with uncertainty.
As Unitus Prime and Mirage’s team search the building on Chaar,
Andromeda follows Buzzstreak around, trying to find out what is
troubling her. Though Buzzstreak tries to evade her questioning,
Andromeda insists… until she notices the other bot glancing at
the leaders. Immediately catching on, she instead gently tells
her teammate that she is not entirely sure how the team dynamics
were before, but that she has to try and be strong and mature
about it. Taking a deep, steadying breath, Buzzstreak thanks
Andromeda, and wishes her luck with Wildfire, which stuns and
flusters the magpie-bot.
Buzzstreak: Thank you… really. You’re right. I’ll try to be
strong.
*Andromeda smiles at her*
Buzzstreak: And good luck with Wildfire.
Andromeda: *splutters* Wait, what?! Wha- What d’you mean? I
never said I- I mean, not that I do- well, not that I don’t,
but-
Hummingstreak gives Noxa a rushed and somewhat-garbled tour of
the Epsilon-Zero, explaining that it was a former Rebellion ship
which had been abandoned on a backwater world after Necrocide
had killed its crew. The ship rocks gently, and Ferros announces
that they have landed; Hummingstreak excitedly leads a dizzy
Noxa back to the bridge. As the team gather, a new message comes
through from Hex, congratulating them on arriving on Fixoma.
Paladin manages to locate the On’to’Ron Chronicles behind a
damaged door, and after announcing it to the others, he opens it
and finds the text undecipherable.
Paladin: Everyone, I think I found it!
*as the others begin to gather around him, he opens the book*
Paladin: Next mission, find the translation guidebook…
Unitus gives a knowing look to Arcrise, who brings forth
Cynder’s Legacy crystal. As the others watch on, Unitus places
it into his Hope Brace, takes the book from Paladin and declares
that he can read it with ease. Mirage tells the team to head
back to the ship, but some of the others ask Unitus about the
Legacy crystal. He reminds them of the others that Arcrise
mentioned him fighting alongside in timeline a – he explains
that they are represented by Legacy crystals that Arcrise
created in a daze in timeline b. The crystals work with the Hope
Braces… but the pair suspect that the Debt Collector is behind
them, like the Braces, and do not wish to use them much. He then
notices Buzzstreak looking at him – she holds his stare, and
smiles confidently at him.

Episode 49 – Facilitating Disaster
Airdate: Saturday 20th February 2016
Synopsis: The same seedy alien bar that Dinobot had visited is
consumed in screams of terror. Necrocide traipses through the
blood-splattered bar, myriad corpses lying about, and heads down
towards the Telenos System – grinning insanely, he promises the
Cybertronian race that he shall make their final end as
beautiful as possible.
Most of the Maximals are waiting in the bridge of the Dawn
Katana, with Arcrise recounting the nature of the Legacy
crystals and their connection to the heroes of old. All the
while, Unitus Prime is in his quarters, reading over the
On’to’Ron Chronicles. He is surprised by a knock at his door,
and invites the visitor in – the door opens, but no one is
there. Confused, the Prime steps out into the corridor to
investigate, and finds no sign of anyone being there. Stepping
back into his quarters, he returns to the book. The Epsilon-Zero
crew head into what, in timeline b, was Prophecy’s base on
Fixoma – Parallax immediately triggers a security warning, which
Ferros swiftly deals with by smashing the wall in.
Weapon Systems: Non-Cybertronian entity detected. Breach in
facility. Breach in facility. Non-Cybertronian entity shall be
terminated. Entity-
*Ferros smashes the wall repeatedly until the voice whirrs away*
Parallax: … whoa… thanks…
Freeline carries with her a smaller, handheld version of the Hex
display, which guides them through the facility. As they wander
through, Noxa is drawn to the medical areas, and quickly deduces
that they are in a quarantine facility. Hex confirms this as
they reach the primary surveillance room, prompting Noxa to
question how their “leader” can hear them. Unitus Prime joins
the others in the bridge of the Dawn Katana and informs them
that the On’to’Ron Chronicles does not speak of the Final
Thirteen. Turning specifically to Prophecy and Arcrise, he
elaborates that it still talks of the dragon or phoenix
devouring all of reality, and all of the things they dealt with
in timeline a (a statement which once again throws the others).
Paladin suggests that the prophecies in the book could be
re-read as relevant to their current situation, but a voice says
otherwise.
Paladin: Well it’s a book full of prophecies. For all we know,
everything it says is just as relevant to what’s happening now
as whatever you went through before.
Voice: No. That book is finished.
As he removes Cynder’s Legacy crystal from his Hope Brace,
Unitus points out a comment Cynder had made when translating the
book which had stuck with him – that the end of one book is the
beginning of another. He then pauses, and asks the others if
they had heard the same voice that he did. They all back him up,
and realise how odd it is that they did not find the new voice
abnormal.
Out in the dusty wastelands of Valoran, Necrocide is
telekinetically unearthing the Valyssia engine, looking as
sinister and deranged as ever. The surveillance systems in the
Fixoma base pinpoint him automatically, surprising the team –
Hex explains that the engine has the power to write fate, and
that he must be stopped. Straight-Aim asks why they were led to
Fixoma if they need to stop Necrocide on Valoran, and Hex tells
them that they must witness first. Ferros is frustrated by this,
and Hummingstreak is visibly anxious over being helpless as they
watch their enemy act. As the Dawn Katana runs a scan for the
number of macroscopic lifeforms on board, the Maximals begin to
realise that they have repeatedly had moments of accepting the
existence of another crew member who does not seem to exist.
Indeed, the ship’s A.I. returns a scan result alternating
between ten and eleven – Mirage asks the ship to analyse the
anomalous one, as the voice – female – bemoans the fact that the
timelines have yet to sync up.
Dawn Katana: Scan results… are inconclusive.
Scale: Meaning what?
Dawn Katana: The number keeps alternating between ten and
eleven.
Mirage: Try and pinpoint the anomalous one, see if you can work
out what it’s supposed to be.
Voice: Ugh… it’s my fault, I suppose. The timelines haven’t
synced up yet.
Wildfire panics over having to comprehend even more timelines,
while Scale asks the voice what she means. The unseen
team-member explains that she is both here and not here, as her
existence has not yet locked into place. Unitus’ eyes widen as
he begins to realise what is happening, and the ship reiterates
what the seemingly disembodied voice claimed. Buzzstreak notices
Unitus’ reaction, and asks him what is wrong; the Prime states
that his memories are beginning to alter, and he is realising
who this new teammate is.
Buzzstreak: Unitus… what’s wrong?
Unitus Prime: My memories. They’re changing… it’s like I can see
two different versions of events. It’s hazy, but… I think I know
whose voice that is.
The voice chuckles softly, assuring him that everything will be
okay. She then tells him to look at her – he turns to the source
of the voice, and sees Medusa stood there, looking remarkably
different with a hexagonal patterning.
Unitus Prime and Arcrise are intensely surprised, and Medusa
tells the team that their memories will soon adjust accordingly.
She then asks for a moment, and brings up a holographic keypad,
on which she types a message. On Fixoma, the team receive
another message from Hex, assuring them that they could not hope
to stop Necrocide from unearthing the Valyssia engine anyway.
Medusa then turns her attentions back to the Dawn Katana crew,
and apologises for her abrupt “setting in”. Swingback observes
that she has been with them the whole time, yet has not; Medusa
explains that events have been rewritten with her in place,
whereas originally she was not here.
Swingback: Wait, no, hang on. You’ve… been here the whole time.
I remember, I think. But you’ve only just appeared. You’ve not
been here at all. So… what the slag?
Medusa: Both are real. Think of it like going back and editing a
book you’re writing, from the start up to where you are now.
I’ve only just appeared but I’ve been here the whole time now.
Swingback: So… you being here before is a change? A rewrite?
Medusa: Exactly.
As Wildfire, Swingback and Andromeda begin to lose track, Unitus
bellows that Medusa has been with them since the very beginning
– since Cheetor lead a team to prehistoric Earth in an attempt
to prevent the Legacy. Smiling faintly, Medusa tells her “old
friend” that she had made a terrible mistake, though the Prime
snaps at her not to call him that.
Medusa: Sorry, old friend… I’ve made such a terrible mistake.
Unitus Prime: Don’t call me that! I’m not your friend.
Medusa: Unitus…
Prophecy is in a state of panic, rubbing her tumbles furiously
as she cries out that everything is changing; Mirage steps up to
Medusa threateningly and tells her to leave, but Medusa reminds
her how much she supported her when she was grieving the loss of
Waspinator. Shaken, Mirage realises that she remembers that, but
also remembers it not happening. Paladin asks Medusa how long
she has been anomalously fading in and out of their timeline,
and she reasons that it would have been retroactive anyway,
being a rewriting of time. She then tells the ship to set course
for Fixoma, which he does obediently. Prophecy clutches her head
and sobs, with Buzzstreak tenderly assuring her, as Medusa
begins an explanation of what her mistake was, and why it might
save the Cybertronian race.
