Episode 1 – On the Horizon
Airdate: Thursday 25th December 2014
Synopsis: We open on a narration, depicted with minimalistic,
almost cave painting-like art.
Prophecy: Long ago, there was a being named Primus. He existed
as a singular being across countless worlds, and across each of
these worlds, he divided his essence to form the souls of a new
race – the Cybertronians. In each world, a Prime was elected to
carry the Matrix of Leadership, crystal talismans of Primus’ own
soul, and they lead their fellow Cybertronians. But unlike
Primus, the Cybertronians were fallible, and wars erupted.
Iterations of the same heroes and villains fought and fell
across the worlds, until one, Oblivion, sought to overthrow
Primus himself. He wiped out almost every Cybertronian, pouring
their souls back into Primus’ own, and then stepped out of
reality and aimed to use an infinite power to reshape every
world in his image. With only one Matrix of Leadership left,
Primus’ entirety was focused through it, and a lone hero used
its power to stop Oblivion moments from his victory. The crystal
was henceforth dubbed the One True Matrix, and the souls of
every Cybertron spilled forth from it and into reality once
more. The race was reborn, set to prosper under the bearer of
that One True Matrix.
But instead, the Cybertronians began warring again – each and
every one, all iterations, across every world. This Total
Conflict was stopped only when the One True Matrix fell into the
hands of a poisonous madman known as Necrocide. Primus’ power
flowed through him, and the False Prime gathered all but few of
the Cybertronians under his twisted order. In the process, the
One True Matrix was shattered, its fragments of power
scattering. A team of heroes set out to gather these fragments,
only to learn upon completing their mission that Necrocide’s
true intentions were to use Primus’ power against the
Cybertronians. The heroes fled to the depths of space with the
crystal, awaiting the day when their presence amidst the war
against Necrocide was so necessary that bringing the One True
Matrix within the tyrant’s grasp was a risk worth taking.
That day is now. And it may just be the last.
[titles – theme can be found here

An ornately-carved outcrop of rock on an alien world; the Dawn
Katana is stood on the rock, with the Maximals inside resting.
Suddenly, the ship’s A.I. makes an alert, summoning everyone to
the bridge immediately. The team, many of them rather grouchy,
gather in the bridge, and are greeted by Emberscales’ face on
the central monitor. Prophecy is excited, but most of the team
do not recognise him – Waspinator steps up, asking what the
leader needs. Emberscales explains briefly that Necrocide has
found the location of the Matrix crystal, which means there is
now no more reason to remain out of the conflict.
Emberscales: I’ll try to be brief… Necrocide found a way to
locate the Matrix crystal. He knows where it is. He knows where
you are. That means there’s no point in you being away from the
rest of us. We need you back here.
Mirage sneers, as Waspinator points out that they will take days
to return to Panthalassa. At this, Ironfist leaps into shot,
stating that he can remedy that. The weapons-expert starts
rummaging around the larger ship’s control panel, as the
Fragments team watch on in bemusement. Suddenly, the Dawn Katana
yelps: he observes that he has been ‘teleportationally
violated’, just as the ship starts to pulse with a vibrant
light. Ironfist suggests Emberscales head down to the hangar, as
Andromeda asks Waspinator what is happening. Scale answers
instead, observing that they are being teleported across a huge
distance… just as the light of the ship starts to fade and the
hangar of Panthalassa appears outside the windscreens.
Emberscales is visible outside, and Prophecy rushes out to greet
him, grabbing him into a huge hug.
Prophecy: Emberscales, Emberscales! I miss you, I missed you,
you were missed, let’s hug now!
Waspinator turns to the rest of the team, who all seem cautious.
He assures them that they can head out, but as most of them
steadily step out of the ship, Mirage reminds Waspinator that
she has no interest in getting involved in the conflict. Smiling
gently, he tells her that he does not want to either, before
taking her hand and leading her out. The hornet-bot introduces
his team to Emberscales, and the former Prime welcomes them to
Panthalassa.
Not long later, all but Waspinator and Mirage are receiving
medical checks from Sonar; Swingback flirts with the medic
teasingly, much to her bemusement. Wildfire notices Blizzard
nearby, and asks if she is okay. The Wrecker leader responds by
noting that she recently had her own sword driven through her
stomach, but is otherwise fine, somewhat spooking the younger
bot.
Blizzard: Am I okay? Well… I’ve just been rescued from an empty
world where I’d been abandoned with my own sword driven through
my stomach… that said, I’m fine now, thanks.
Wildfire: … well that’s good, I guess?
Elsewhere, Emberscales, Gigatron, Vapour, Uproar and Streetwise
are talking with Waspinator and Mirage, who are explaining the
events since their mission began. Among the main points is the
formation of Dinobot’s Archaicons… which leads us to see the new
faction’s inner circle, imprisoned on a Quintesson ship. Dinobot
is sat in his cell, expression somewhere between contemplative
and infuriated, as a Quintesson, Edramylia, approaches the cell
door. He asks Dinobot if he is ready for the experiment, and the
angered bot nods in response.
Edramylia: The equipment is prepared. Are you ready to commence
the experiment?
The Quintesson puts a marble-sized black sphere in the cell, and
as Dinobot takes it, it transforms into a large cannon – it is
the Omniconfigurator. Dinobot blasts the cell open as the
Quintesson moves out of the way; the other Archaicons hear the
sound, responding in surprise before their cell doors short out.
They step out to see Dinobot (Scorpinax still blind), sword-form
Omniconfigurator in-hand, at the control panel for the cells. He
tells them to take the ship by force and kill anyone who gets in
their way; the faction cheer, and they disperse (though
Sickleclaw remains a little longer, staring at Dinobot). Back on
Panthalassa, Waspinator and Mirage are concluding their
explanation – with that done, Emberscales thanks them, and asks
all of the bots to follow him. He makes an announcement, calling
all those aboard the ship to meet him in the hangar in a few
minutes. Sonar informs the other members of the Fragments team
that they are in good health all the while, and brings along a
data-pad to add their profiles to her database as she and
Blizzard lead them back to the hangar.
We see the Quintesson ship from afar, just as an explosion
visibly ripples through one of the decks. On board, the
Archaicons are causing chaos, wiping out the Quintessons as they
and their Sharkticons fall helplessly to the pure rage of their
former captives. As the battle continues, Dinobot declares that
the Archaicons shall never again be subjugated, imprisoned or
mistreated, while Edramylia observes and films.
Dinobot: Let this be a warning, not to you but to the people who
would dare act as you have. I am Dinobot, leader of the
Archaicons; head my words. We have been subjugated! We have been
painted as villains! We have been incarcerated, and mistreated,
and time we could have spent acting has been wasted! Never
again! We are the Archaicons, and you shall remember us, respect
us… fear us! You have stood in our way. Never again.
On Panthalassa, Emberscales addresses the gathered rebel forces
(including Medusa, restrained in a prison sphere and seemingly
in pain). The former Prime explains that, when Primus first
created the Cybertronian race, he knew that they could possibly
become a malevolent force, a threat to reality itself. Although
it has never come to light in past events, as only
Matrix-bearers know and it is an absolute last resort, the
genetic coding within the sparks of every Cybertronian includes
an extinction gene. If activated, it will cause all
Cybertronians to die, almost instantly. The gathered bots
respond with various degrees of shock, as Emberscales notes that
Necrocide has this knowledge, and has now gained the Covenant of
Primus, which shall give him insight into how to activate the
gene. He even knows where the One True Matrix is, and will use
it as a conduit; luckily, it is currently on the Dawn Katana.
Gigatron asks what the plan is, and the former Prime notes that
he is unsure, just as Medusa snarls out that Necrocide is
watching them.
Gigatron: I presume you have a plan of action in mind?
Emberscales: I’m… not sure-
Medusa: Necrocide is watching us!
The collected bots turn to her, as she notes that a certain
someone hitting her face kick-started a psychic connection with
Necrocide. We see him as she tells the group that he is reading
the Covenant of Primus… but also using a programme called
O-SCILL (Omniverse-Scale Cybertronian Intelligent Life Locater)
to pinpoint the locations of every Cybertronian across reality.
After a moment of concentration, she adds that O-SCILL is built
into a planet called Muzuno Shek’ta, which appropriately means
“the All-Seeing Eye”. Emberscales starts talking, drawing
everyone’s attentions again – he states that he has a plan.

Episode 2 – Stand Together
Airdate: Friday 26th December 2014
Synopsis: Blizzard is selecting a ship in the hangar of
Panthalassa, as Emberscales approaches Ironfist and explains
that he is selecting a core group who shall stay with him. He
wants Ironfist to be a part of that group – he will not be
accompanying the other Wreckers. The weapons expert is uncertain
of this, but respects his leader’s decision.
The Fragments team, minus Waspinator, are within the Dawn
Katana, discussing the recent events while gathering their
belongings. Paladin questions who Medusa is, and Prophecy
remarks that she is their most evil friend. Mirage questions
what shall become of them, causing an awkward silence amongst
the group. It is then that Waspinator appears, asking if they
are ready to leave the ship. The group head off with their few
necessary items, as Waspinator has the Dawn Katana go on
lockdown to protect the Matrix.
Waspinator: Dawn Katana, I need you to go on lockdown for me. We
need to keep the Matrix as safe as possible.
Dawn Katana: Understood, leave it to me.
He walks off of the ship, which immediately seals itself up, and
has the others quickly store their items before returning to the
hangar. On Leviathan, Necrocide places the Covenant of Primus in
a sealed compartment, chuckling to himself as his use of O-SCILL
reaches completion. His special chamber opens, and Grill greats
him; the emperor notes that he now knows the location of every
Cybertronian in existence, and that O-SCILL shall continually
update him. He casually adds that the rebels have learnt about
it and Muzuno Shek’ta – Grill is shocked, but Necrocide brushes
it off, claiming that giving the enemy a slight advantage makes
the later events more fun.
Grill: What?! Sir-
Necrocide: Lord.
Grill: Lord, you let the enemy take a tactical advantage?
Necrocide: Advantage? Please, it’s only a little. Let them have
that much, it’ll make things so much more fun later.
Emberscales has the Maximals gathered again: he announces that
the Wreckers shall head to Muzuno Shek’ta and destroy O-SCILL by
whatever means necessary. There will be three further teams,
with Gigatron leading a new Strike team onto Leviathan to
directly confront Necrocide (as Streetwise observes, it is a
suicide mission), Emberscales heading a core team who shall
remain on Panthalassa and coordinate events, and Waspinator’s
Fragments team who will be given a private mission shortly.
Emberscales lists the Wreckers as the current squad (Blizzard,
Vapour, Cynder, Ironfist and Paradox), minus Ironfist. Uproar
steps up at this moment, stating that he would like to bolster
the team’s numbers and to fight – and likely die – by Cynder’s
side. Smiling, Emberscales allows this, and sends the Wreckers
off to prepare.
Not long later, the five are ready to board their new ship;
Blizzard thanks the others, observing that this shall likely be
their last stand and that it is important that they keep
Necrocide blind to where their people are. She adds that this is
where their paths have lead – it is their fate. Emberscales
watches sombrely from nearby, and the snow leopard-bot thanks
him for acknowledging that, noting that her place is by side of
the Wreckers.
Blizzard: Thank you, Emberscales. Thank you for recognising
that. I would love to help you here… to be your right hand
again… but my place is by their side.
The group head aboard their ship, which then leaves the hangar
and flies off towards Muzuno Shek’ta. Elsewhere on the ship,
Gigatron approaches Ouranos, informing him that they need to
head to a certain location, as per Emberscales’ orders. Ouranos
emphatically agrees to this, asking about their destination only
as Gigatron Transwarps them… to the core of Occultus Porta.
Ouranos panics, observing that he is “home” and demanding to be
returned to the others. Gigatron calmly informs him that they
cannot risk his death, as Ouranos is not Cybertronian but a
sentient timeline-managing machine. If he were to die in the
Cybertronian conflict, chaos would ensue on an even larger
scale. Bitterly, Ouranos claims that he understands, and has
Gigatron pass on his best wishes, as the mysterious bot
Transwarps away. As he reappears on Panthalassa, Emberscales
passes him, suggesting he approach the rest of his new Strike
team and prepare them for their mission. Gigatron concurs, and
then notes that he cannot forgive their creator for his
failsafe.
Gigatron: I shall. Also, I want you to know… though this is
nothing you need to concern yourself over… I cannot forgive
Primus for this. This failsafe, this extinction gene. I can
understand it, but it is a betrayal of trust and of faith… his
faith, in us.
He then asks if the dragon-bot is certain that he wants him to
lead the Strike team; Emberscales assures him that he knows what
is right for the likes of him and Blizzard, and that there is no
point in him keeping them at his side. He thanks Gigatron for
his concern, before continuing off through the ship, contacting
Waspinator and asking for him to meet him in the previous
briefing room.
A number of Imperial bots are stationed on Muzuno Shek’ta,
complete with a full arsenal of weaponry and vehicles,
surrounding the O-SCILL transmitter, a large round building with
an energy shield. The approach of the Wreckers’ ship is quickly
detected, and the entire troop open fire on the ship – it weaves
through their attacks, though it manages to sustain damage.
Without slowing, the ship reaches the planet’s surface, crashing
down and wiping out a chunk of the army. The Wreckers have
already teleported off of the ship, evenly spaced around the
O-SCILL transmitter, and Blizzard orders them to attack,
transforming her Blazefire Saber into gun form and firing at
troops in her way.
Blizzard: Wreckers! Now is our last stand! GIVE THEM HELL!
Back on Panthalassa, Emberscales asks Waspinator if he would be
prepared to use the Quantum Reset Button hidden on Fothai,
should worst come to worst. The hornet-bot is taken aback, but
after some thought, he notes that it may be for the best.
Emberscales asks that Waspinator take his team to Fothai and
press the button on his command; when asked why the entire team
need to go, Emberscales states that the planet has been taken by
Necrocide’s forces. Waspinator is unsure if his team is ready to
face the troops, but agrees. The former Prime tells his
subordinate to take the Dawn Katana, as he would like to test a
theory.
Emberscales: Take your ship, too, with the Matrix still aboard.
I have a theory I would like to test.
Waspinator: Are you sure? Surely it’s safer with you?
Emberscales: Here, perhaps… but not with me.
As the Wreckers fight their way through the masses of Imperial
bots, they continue to sustain damage. Vapour reaches the
transmitter in vaporous form, and starts using a device to
degenerate the shield. Damaged beyond belief, Blizzard reaches
the transmitter as the shield goes down, and rushes inside,
finding dark corridors flooded with wiring. Finding the heart of
the building, she takes the Blazefire Saber and drives it into a
central column, causing an instant planet-wide explosion.
Necrocide observes that his omnipotence has vanished, and that
he must act quickly. As Waspinator returns to the hangar, he is
surprised to see Snapjaw stepping out of a small ship.

Episode 3 – Drift Apart
Airdate: Saturday 27th December 2014
Synopsis: Waspinator and Snapjaw stare at each other; the latter
speaks up, and explains that he has nowhere left to go and
wishes to help the effort against Necrocide, whether or not the
Maximals want his help. He adds that he does not forgive
Waspinator; the hornet-bot responds that he does not expect him
to, and welcomes him back to the fold.
Gigatron leads his new Strike team – Razorbeak, Abydos,
Streetwise, Freeline, Tidal Wave and Howlback – into the hangar
of Panthalassa, where they find Waspinator and Snapjaw. Tidal
Wave and Howlback head over to greet their former leader and
ally, while the others start to prepare their ship; Snapjaw
greets the two, who ask why he was not with the rest of the
Fragments team. The hyena-bot stares at Waspinator, and then
says that it is a long story, and asks where they are headed. As
they explain, Snapjaw decides to accompany them, and Waspinator
wishes the three the best of luck even as Tidal Wave points out
that they will likely never return – Howlback hugs Waspinator
goodbye, and asks that he pass on her farewell to Arcrise.
Howlback: Basically, Necrocide’s planning to wipe us all out –
some genetic stuff that’s a little bit complicated – and we’re
on a mission to try and take him out before it happens.
Tidal Wave: We’re heading off to Leviathan. Then we have to work
our way through the ship, find him, and kill him.
Snapjaw: Ah, I see. Fun. Well, you’ll need all the help you can
get… I’ll join you.
Waspinator: I’m proud of you. All three of you. Good luck with
your mission.
Tidal Wave: Erm, Snapjaw, you know we’ll be lucky to make it out
alive, right…?
Snapjaw: No problem. It’s not like I have much left to live for
now. I’m going to die a hero if I’m going to die at all.
*Howlback hugs Waspinator all the while*
Howlback: Thanks, so much. Thanks for everything. Say goodbye to
Arcrise for me…
Upon hearing that, Arcrise leaps from Waspinator’s shadow,
grabbing both Tidal Wave and Howlback into a hug. The three
share a moment, as Waspinator and Snapjaw head off in opposite
directions. On the Quintesson judge ship, multiple Archaicons
are manning the controls. Dinobot and Edramylia are stood
together in one of the ship’s central rooms; the Archaicon asks
what the ship’s name is, and Edramylia informs him that it is
Iustitia, one of the sister ships of Iudicium which the faction
previously destroyed. Dinobot smirks as he notes the irony.
Sawblade enters through one of the doors, Airazor dragging a
dead Sharkticon along in the hallway behind him, and asks what
shall be done with the other prisoners on the ship. He adds that
they are all non-Cybertronian, and Dinobot tells Sawblade to put
them on a small ship and send them off.
Sawblade: None of them are Cybertronian, though.
Dinobot: Hm. Dispatch them; put them on one of the small
transport ships and let them head where they wish to go.
Sawblade complies, heading off as Scorpinax feels his way into
the room. Dinobot asks what he wants, and the blinded bot claims
that he can hear the Vok whispering, and they want to speak with
Dinobot. Edramylia is uncertain of this, but Dinobot assures him
it is fine, and tells Scorpinax to summon the Vok.
The Strike team are heading through space on their ship;
Freeline is visibly nervous, observing that she is not ready to
die and asking if everyone is certain that this is how they are
supposed to end. Abydos observes that they are warriors, but
Freeline counters that they are more than that – they are
people, and they deserve more than to die in what may be a
fruitless attempt to kill Necrocide.
Abydos: We’re warriors. These are the stakes we have to deal
with.
Freeline: But we’re not just warriors! We’re people, too. We
have lives beyond all of this. We don’t deserve to lose those
lives trying to kill Necrocide, especially if we don’t even
manage it!
Razorbeak notes that they have to try, for the sake of their
race; Freeline squirms a little (which Howlback notices), and
states that she understands. Meanwhile, the Fragments team
(including Arcrise) are gathering in the hangar – Swingback
notes that she is getting tired of seeing the same few areas of
the ship, while Scale notes that the atmosphere does not suit
him. Hummingstreak flies over in beast mode, greeting the team
and quickly getting into an excited conversation with Wildfire;
Ripple and Straight-Aim join the group, and concerned glances
are shared as the younger bots converse. Waspinator’s arrival
interrupts the chatter, as he informs his team that they are
heading to Fothai. Hummingstreak asks if they can come, but
Ripple remarks that they must await their own orders. Dinobot,
Edramylia and Scorpinax are confronted by one of the Vok; the
floating ethereal skull informs Dinobot that his faction, and
his entire race, is fated to die. Dinobot snarls, yelling that
he has no concern what fate has in store for them, as they shall
survive.
Dinobot: Rargh! I care not for what fate decides! I shall not
bow to its whims any longer! The Archaicons shall survive, no
matter what!
The Vok states that this is his intention too, and that his kind
can enhance the Archaicons and eradicate their “flawed” gene.
Scorpinax speaks up, asking why they do not do the same with the
rest of their race; the Vok explains that the process would take
too long and expend much more energy than they have. Those
needed shall survive the extinction. Growling, Dinobot agrees to
the process, and summons the Archaicons across Iustitia to one
of the central court.
Emberscales is holding a meeting in the briefing room, with
Nightscream, Firecloud, Wingpulse, Ironfist, Sonar and Constant.
He begins to explain that he has worked out contingencies in the
event that the Strike team fail, but an alarm sounds off,
interrupting him. Constant notes that the source of the alert is
the hangar; Ironfist tells the others to stay seated, and uses a
device to teleport them directly to the hangar. He quips that
they seem to keep heading back down there so he has constructed
a teleportation circuit.
Ironfist: Y’see? Be- Because we keep coming back here, I thought
I should set up a quick teleportation circuit.
The group then notice Ravager in the hangar, and the Predacons
randomly attacking the various machines sat around. Firecloud
and Wingpulse quickly use their powers to subdue the villains,
and Emberscales approaches them, asking what they want. Rampage
notes that they were tracing Snapjaw, and he landed down here.
They are now attempting to subdue the rebel forces. Unimpressed,
the rebel leader questions if they really feel that they will
attain anything from attacking their cruiser; Ambush points out
that he and Drain knew it was a stupid plan, but the others
insisted. Nightscream suggests that they instead make themselves
useful, put aside the differences between the factions and help
to save their race.
Nightscream: Look… how about you quit this and make yourselves
useful? We have bigger problems than faction battles. Let’s try
putting aside the differences and saving our people.
The Predacons question what he means. On Iustitia, the
Archaicons are gathered in the former Quintesson court; the
Sharkticon pit is now full of dead Quintesson and Sharkticon
bodies. Dinobot, with Sawblade and Edramylia at his sides,
declares that they are about to defy fate and gain new power by
way of the Vok – he demonstrates, as the present Vok passes
through his body, causing an incredible transformation and
reformatting the Utahraptor-bot. He announces that every
Archaicon will undergo this upgrade, as more Vok materialise.
All the while, the Strike team ship approaches Leviathan; Tidal
Wave asks how they plan to board the larger vehicle without
being noticed, and Gigatron notes that they do not, before
steering their ship forward, fast.

Episode 4 – All the Evils of the World
Airdate: Sunday 28th December 2014
Synopsis: Andromeda is wandering around the Dawn Katana, which
now seems emptier with the team’s possessions gone. Paladin
passes her in the hallway, and asks how she feels about being
involved with a war effort. The fembot notes that it is not
something she is comfortable with, but it is important that they
win and so she shall not ignore her responsibilities.
The Strike team’s ship ploughs through the hangar of Leviathan;
on-board, Gigatron orders the bots to be ready to exit the ship
as soon as it reaches the far end of the hangar. With their
weapons at the ready, the bots leap out of the ship, heading
straight into the labyrinthine corridors of the imperial
flagship. Troops flood the hallways ahead, and the team open
fire, taking them out and reaching a data access point. Freeline
quickly brings up the ship’s schematics, which Gigatron uses to
re-jog his memory from before. He informs the group that he has
a method that will allow them to reach Necrocide quicker, but it
will exhaust him more quickly; they all agree it is best for him
to use it.
Gigatron: Okay, I have a way that we could traverse the ship
quicker than going by foot… problem is, it’ll wear me out. I’m
ready to take that risk, but I want a unanimous opinion.
Streetwise: Then do it. You’re resilient enough and fewer of us
will die if we get there quicker.
Tidal Wave: Agreed.
Snapjaw: Go for it, we can cover you until you’re ready to
fight.
With that, he generates a portal into another area of the ship,
and they head through. On Iustitia, some of our familiar
Archaicons are pitting their upgraded forms against one another
in a secondary court; Kickback and Rapax manage to hold their
own against one another, while Airazor is held back by a grim
Sickleclaw. All the while, he presses her, asking why she is so
grumpy even when they have gained freedom and a new ship. The
Velociraptor-bot holds her tongue, which gradually irritates
Airazor.
Airazor: Not gonna tell me? Seriously, talk. There’s gotta be a
reason. Got to be. Tell me! Tell little old me. Come on! Tell me
already! This is getting annoying! Did I hit you too hard or
something? Sharkticon got your tongue? Literally? Talk, damn it!
Eventually, Sickleclaw decides to bow out, heading off on her
own and leaving Airazor to interrupt the Kickback and Rapax
fight instead. The fembot returns to her quarters, and looks at
her reflection darkly. Waspinator, Scale and Mirage are sat
together in the bridge of the Dawn Katana, discussing the
imperial takeover of Fothai. Mirage asks Waspinator why they are
headed to Fothai specifically; the leader exhales, and informs
the two that the planet is home to the Quantum Reset Button, a
construct which allows one to reset the universe randomly. If
necessary, they are to push the button and hopefully stop
Necrocide, at the cost of altering the universe to an unknowable
degree. Scale and Mirage share a concerned glance.
Imperial troops rush towards the Strike team; Gigatron
generates another portal in front of the troops, and the
Maximals charge through, appearing elsewhere on the ship.
Gigatron collapses against the wall, panting, and asks that they
give him a moment to gather himself. As the Maximals stand by,
Howlback takes Freeline aside, and quietly asks her if she is
Cybertronian at all. After a beat, Freeline attempts to change
the subject, but goes on to confirm Howlback’s suspicions.
Freeline: … isn’t it funny when you walk into a room and then
forget why?
Howlback: …
Freeline: … yeah. You’re right. I’m a perfect non-Cybertronian
copy of a dead Maximal. Just… don’t tell anyone.
The former art teacher assures her that she will do whatever it
takes to make sure she survives this mission… before taking fire
to her arm and chest. Tidal Wave opens fire on the attackers,
but likewise is injured. Gigatron forces himself to generate
another portal, but Streetwise is shot through the head and
collapses ahead of the portal while the others pour through. The
portal shuts, and the team are shaken by Streetwise’s sudden
death, just as Gigatron receives communications from Ambush. The
Predacon asks for their location on the ship, as they are coming
to help.
Ambush: Sorry for the abrupt communique from your old enemy, but
what’s your location? We’re coming to your aid.
All the while, the Dawn Katana lands on Fothai, in the midst of
a blizzard. The team are gathered in the bridge, and the A.I.
informs them that there are around four hundred Imperial troops
in the area. Waspinator informs his team that their job is to
drive the troops back, and Wildfire asks if that is even
possible for the eight of them even as they exit the ship. Stood
together, Waspinator calls out for Illyiara, and Arcrise
surfaces from his shadow, transforming and soaring up above the
troops, raining cosmic fire down on them. Waspinator activates
his faceplate and leads the rest of his team into the fray.
Sickleclaw walks through Iustitia, now with her synth-hair cut
shorter like Cross-Shot’s. She reaches Dinobot’s new throne
room, and finds only Edramylia present. Brazenly entering, she
states that she has been asked to take the Omniconfigurator to
Dinobot; Edramylia pauses before pointing her to the powerful
device.
Worn out, Gigatron opens a new portal that brings the Predacons
to the Strike team. There is immediate tension, especially
between Howlback and Rampage as well as Snapjaw generally,
before Gigatron thanks them for their help. He opens another
portal, only for Imperial troops to be on the other side – they
fire, further injuring the team, and Gigatron closes it and
collapses to the floor, exhausted and hurt. As Razorbeak and
Abydos haul him to his feet, he suggests they go by foot from
here on. The Fragments team fight against the amassed Imperial
troops, barely holding their own, as Shockblast and Haywire
watch on from nearby; Haywire asks if this is another conflict
between the empire and the rebels, which the larger bot
confirms. He leads her into the fighting, and they help mow down
troops. Noticing this, Mirage takes Waspinator’s hand and tells
him to show her the Quantum Reset. Hand-in-hand, the two run
through the hordes Button (though he insists they cannot use it
yet). Sickleclaw is in the docking bay of Iustitia, preparing a
ship, when Dinobot approaches her, demanding to know what she is
planning. The fembot tells him that she cannot follow him, or
allow him to command such power, anymore – he is no longer the
bot she knew. Dinobot informs her that she is making the biggest
mistake of her life, which she claims was her believing in him.
Dinobot: If you leave now, it will be your biggest mistake.
Sickleclaw: No. I’ve already made my biggest mistake… believing
in you.
She turns the Omniconfigurator into a glove around her hand, and
departs, Dinobot grimacing as he watches. Waspinator and Mirage
reach the entrance to the Infinity Chamber; Waspinator rummages
for the ornate lemniscate, putting it in place and evolving it
into the same rock as the entrance. Rushing through to the
chamber, they find… a large Paradise box. Waspinator states that
this is wrong, as Mirage contacts the team, relaying the
situation and asking for their thoughts.
Waspinator: No… no, this doesn’t make sense… there’s supposed to
be a button shaft that rises up, and spaces for the Zodiac
crystals… not… not this, why is this here?
Mirage: Hello everyone, bit of a situation here. We came looking
for a button and found a box. A great big Paradise box like the
ones on Ra. What do you think we should do?
Andromeda suggests it is like Pandora’s box – where a young
fembot of legend opened a box containing all the evils of the
world, and found hope at the bottom. Waspinator and Mirage share
a glance, before she throws the box open. A massive surge of
energy erupts from it, and multiple shapes spill out into the
ether… as the light fades, Mirage looks inside to find thirteen
ornate, silver devices. She claims that they must be hope.

Episode 5 – Til Death
Airdate: Monday 29th December 2014
Synopsis: Dinobot returns to his throne room, where Edramylia
asks if he received the Omniconfigurator. The leader clearly
states that all major actions by his inner circle must be
authorised by him first, as he sits himself down. Just then,
Scorpinax enters, still blind but more aware of his surroundings
– he announces that an almighty surge has been detected.
In the Infinity Chamber, Mirage removes the silver devices from
inside of the Paradise box. Waspinator questions if she may have
made the situation worse, even as she places one of the devices
on her wrist.
Waspinator: “All the evils of the world”, that’s what Andromeda
said. You just threw that box open without a second thought.
Mirage: Yep.
Waspinator: We’re already trying to deal with Necrocide… you
might have made everything a whole lot worse.
Power surges through her and she is reformatted – smirking, she
holds out one of the devices to Waspinator. The Strike team and
Predacons continue heading through Leviathan, covering one
another even as they take fire from Imperial troops, who are now
using more varied and heavier weaponry. Stampede has a large
chunk of his torso blown out, and falls behind the others, being
caught and killed by the troops. Witnessing this, Skydive and
Beachcomber stop, declaring that they shall hold up the troops
for as long as possible (and are a little baffled when they only
get a brief thanks from the others as they continue on). They
fight valiantly, but fall quickly. Waspinator and Mirage, both
reformatted, exit the Infinity Chamber – Prophecy joins their
side, and refuses the offer of one of the devices, saying that
they are not made for her use.
Mirage: Here, take one of these and put it on your wrist. Your
non-Timaeus drive wrist, anyway.
Prophecy: Nope!
Mirage: Sorry?
Prophecy: They’re not made for me to use. I’ll explain later! I
think.
However, she takes six of the remaining eleven and rushes into
the battlefield, gradually handing them out to the other members
of the Fragments team. Waspinator and Mirage display their new
capabilities all the while, sporting greater strength, speed,
endurance and firepower. The tide is gradually turned on the
Imperial bots… before Arcrise (not sporting a device) notes that
she can feel something coming. Ship fire pummels the Imperial
forces, as a ship of Quintesson origin uncloaks. It lands down
as the Maximals, Shockblast and Haywire watch on – Dinobot steps
out, followed by the rest of the Archaicons. His eyes narrow
(the scope-lens focusing in) upon seeing Waspinator, and he
grips his new Horizon Saber and demands that the Maximals
explain the strange energy surge.
Freeline uses one of the data access points to locate Necrocide
on the ship as the Strike team and Predacons have a moment’s
pause. Howlback talks with Gigatron, stating that he must make
sure that Freeline does not die; the older bot says that he is
aware, just as Tidal Wave takes her aside and kisses her, noting
that they will likely not survive this and wants her to remember
that he loves her. Suddenly, Freeline observes that Necrocide is
right beside them; Drain drags her out of the way as a spear of
oily black hits the space she was in.
Freeline: Wait. Guys…?
Snapjaw: What?
Freeline: This says Necrocide is… right next to us.
The emperor greets them cheerily, and asks them if they have any
last words; the team all respond by opening fire on him, but he
simply catches it telekinetically and throws it all back at
Ambush, killing him instantly. The bots all pause, giving
Necrocide the chance to attack. On Fothai, Waspinator steps
forward as the rest of his team hold off the remaining Imperial
troops – he explains that they had come to use the Quantum Reset
Button if needed, but instead found a box which, when opened,
released unknown forces. Dinobot snarls that he will not allow
anyone to alter reality; Waspinator points out that the button
is gone, and that Necrocide is planning to eradicate the
Cybertronian race, an act that must be prevented at all costs.
Dinobot: No! I refuse to let anyone alter our universe! Not
after all we’ve done!
Waspinator: The button’s gone anyway! And Necrocide plans to
drive our race to extinction – that’s something we can’t allow
to happen, no matter what! We have to stop him!
The Archaicon leader yells that no victory is worth losing what
they have fought for, and charges at Waspinator – deep within
the Dawn Katana, the Matrix pulses with light, and the Lokon
blade materialises in the Maximal’s hand just in time to block
the Horizon Saber. Necrocide weaves through his would-be
assassins, herding them through corridors and mowing down
Razorbeak and Abydos with little effort. Rampage blocks a fatal
blow meant for Howlback; she insists that she has no interest in
making up for tormenting the Maximal, and is simply trying out
being heroic, before Necrocide decapitates her.
Waspinator and Dinobot duel fiercely, with the saurian bot
using the Horizon Saber’s gravity edge to give Waspinator a hard
time. He notes that it was in the weapons hold of the Quintesson
ship that the Archaicons escaped from and took over. Waspinator
questions if his former friend does not understand the reason
for his imprisonment, and Dinobot claims that even beings like
the Quintessons can judge incorrectly. All the while, the
Maximals, Archaicons and Shockblast and Haywire individually
fight against the Imperial troops; Sawblade approaches
Shockblast and Haywire, asking if they would be interested in
joining their race’s true heroes.
Sawblade: Greetings. I presume you’re not with the Maximals.
Shockblast: Oh, is that what they were?
Sawblade: They’re worthless. Would the two of you be interested
in joining the true heroes of the Cybertronian race?
Necrocide pushes the remaining bots into a large room – Drain
attempts to bring the heavy door down on him as he enters, but
he stabs through her before she can activate it. Snapjaw takes
the opportunity to attack Necrocide, but he is pummelled with
Drain’s body parts, and then slammed repeatedly into a wall
until his head breaks open. The final four Maximals step back:
Tidal Wave and Howlback clasp hands, charging at Necrocide, just
as Gigatron opens portals in front of and behind the villain.
The fire at the back of his head, but he decapitates them both
cleanly without even looking. With the Imperial forces now all
defeated on Fothai, Sawblade orders a retreat. Dinobot refuses,
but Sawblade insists that they have found the source of the
pulse and have no reason to stay. The leader relents, and glares
at Shockwave and Haywire as they board the ship with the others.
Waspinator likewise suggests to his gathering team that they
return to Panthalassa, what with the forces defeated and the
button gone. Gigatron and Freeline face the approaching
Necrocide; Freeline suggests she go next, but as she charges,
Gigatron opens a portal ahead of her, taking her back to
Panthalassa.
Freeline: I guess it’s my go next, right? Gees… I don’t want to
die…
*she charges, but runs straight through a portal that generates
ahead of her, winding up on Panthalassa*
Freeline: Huh?
*she turns, but the portal closes*
Freeline: Wait! No, no, what are you doing? Gigatron!
As the portal shuts, he collapses to his knees – Necrocide
approaches, laughing, only for Gigatron to generate a portal
through the villain’s midsection. His torso topples off, but he
continues laughing while shuddering in pain, as his lower half
explodes into a mass of tendrils which viciously tear Gigatron
apart.

Episode 6 – The Calm Before
Airdate: Tuesday 30th December 2014
Synopsis: Freeline shakily calls out for help, as a surprised
Nightscream approaches her. The cat-bot wails that she needs to
go back to Leviathan, before breaking down in Nightscream’s
arms, tearily thanking Gigatron for saving her. She informs the
other Maximal that the rest of the Strike team, and the
Predacons, are all dead.
Grill leads a group of Imperial troops into the room where
Necrocide fought the intruders; they find him regenerating his
lower half, while what is left of his original legs continue
dismantling Gigatron’s body. The group are stunned, as Necrocide
notes that he is disappointed that only four of the intruders
were killed by the troops. He proceeds to kill nine of the
Imperial troops present, noting that it is one death for every
Maximal and Predacon he killed.
Necrocide: There! That makes it even. Nine scumbags that I had
to kill for you; nine of you dead.
Grill: Sir… these troops weren’t involved with the intruders!
Necrocide: So? Punishment is punishment.
Grill suggests that the emperor go and rest until he has calmed
down from his kill-happy mania, but the Valoranian instead
remarks that he has work to do. Sonar tends to Freeline’s
damage, informing her that she is lucky to be alive – Freeline
is obviously anxious to leave, but Sonar calmly states that she
is aware that she is not a real Cybertronian. She apologises and
explains that Emberscales thought it best to inform the rest of
the current Home team. The fake Cybertronian likewise
apologises, stating that it is not fair for her to live just
because she is not Cybertronian; Sonar observes that life
generally is not fair, and that Freeline should embrace her life
more for having been granted the opportunity by Gigatron’s
sacrifice. The Dawn Katana lands down in the hangar of
Panthalassa; the Maximals exit it, as Mirage asks if this is
what has become of their race – bitterly self-destructive and
easily manipulated and fooled.
Mirage: After all this time, this is what becomes of us? More
self-destructive than ever, fighting bitterly and being
manipulated like day-old fools?
Emberscales speaks up from nearby, claiming that this conflict
is bringing out the worst in everyone. He then asks Waspinator
if he can bring the Matrix crystal out of the ship, and for all
of them to meet him in the briefing room in ten minutes. As he
departs and Waspinator heads back inside the ship, Wildfire
ponders what they shall do with the remaining silver devices.
After a moment’s pause, Prophecy excitedly asks the group if
they know of the Thirteen.
Dinobot, as ever flanked by Sawblade and Edramylia, talks with
Shockblast and Haywire, presently introducing them to the
Archaicon faction. Both bots note that they are happy to sever
all former ties – what little they have left, anyway – and join
the Archaicons. Shockblast then speaks up, noting that Haywire
is forgotten as soon as she is not being observed. Dinobot
suggests that the Vok upgrade will help, as it has given the
blinded Scorpinax a level of extra-sensory perception. Haywire
asks about the upgrade, and Sawblade suggests that the best way
for them to understand is to experience it.
Haywire: This upgrade. Could you explain more?
Sawblade: Explaining would take too much time. The best way to
understand it… is to experience it for yourself.
On Panthalassa, the Fragments team join the Home team and Medusa
in the briefing room (Freeline, Hummingstreak, Ripple and
Straight-Aim listen in from outside). Emberscales starts by
observing the losses of the Strike team and the Predacons that
chose to ally with them, before Waspinator reports that the
Quantum Reset Button was not present on Fothai – instead, they
found another Paradise box. Emberscales recalls mention of the
other Paradise boxes, which were assumedly artificial. Arcrise
starts to wince; when asked, she states that she feels some
recollection of the concept of Paradise boxes. Waspinator
further explains that the Archaicons have escaped their
imprisonment and confronted them on Fothai, before Mirage then
places the remaining six devices on the table, explaining that
these are at the bottom of the box. Prophecy recounts that they
are the Hope Braces, destined to be worn by the final Thirteen.
Prophecy: These are the Hope Braces. Legend says – and no one
else because they don’t know of the legend – that they are
destined for the final Thirteen.
Emberscales and Firecloud share a knowing look, while the rest
of the Home team are surprised. Constant questions if this means
that those who wear the Hope Braces are shielded from the
extinction gene’s effects and will survive – Firecloud confirms
that this is true, but it does not signify a true final thirteen
survivors. Rather, they shall be the heralds of the Cybertronian
race at the end of its days. The Fragments team are now the ones
left stunned (Wildfire checks his Hope Brace to confirm that he
is indeed one of these final Thirteen).
In the bridge of Leviathan, Necrocide is incorporating a DNA
computer into the present systems. Grill questions what it is
for, and the false Prime informs him that it is the key to the
final stage of his plan; the high-ranking officer points out
that he does not yet know what Necrocide’s plan is. The villain
chuckles and tells Grill that he does not wish to know. The
rebels discuss the Hope Braces; Firecloud and Wingpulse suggest
that they can try to reverse-engineer the device’s ability to
cancel out the extinction gene, while the Fragments team
continue to get their heads around their new roles. Emberscales
notes that they were likely always fated to be the Thirteen, but
they (especially Wildfire and Swingback) question if being fated
means it is right. Medusa begins chuckling; the bots all turn to
her, and she suggests they see if they can escape what their
true fates are. Fate to her is hard to truly pin-point.
Medusa: Fate isn’t something you can discern so easily. Maybe
it’s fate that chose you as these big important figures… maybe
it’s coincidence, and your real fates are something else
entirely.
She adds that Necrocide is preparing for the final act, building
a DNA computer which shall be ‘threaded’ to every Cybertronian
spark, using the Matrix as a guide and the coordinates granted
by O-SCILL has a rough indicator of where the sparks all are.
Emberscales notes that they must act now – he has Firecloud and
Wingpulse begin work on a gene-cancelling device, sends Ironfist
to take Medusa back to her cell before returning to the briefing
room, and sends everyone else bar Waspinator off, informing them
that Panthalassa shall be reaching Leviathan shortly (much to
the surprise of the Fragments team). As the rest of the bots
disperse, Waspinator hands Emberscales the Matrix, and notes
that it may have somehow teleported the Lokon blade to him when
he needed it; he asks if it was the Matrix, and Emberscales
suggests it was attempting to save him.
Waspinator: Here, the Matrix, as you asked for.
Emberscales: Thank you, Waspinator. For guarding it, as well.
Waspinator: About that… when the Archaicons attacked us on
Fothai, the Lokon blade appeared in my hands right when I needed
it. I spoke to Arcrise on the way back, and she insisted it
wasn’t her. I don’t know if it was the Matrix… why would it do
that?
Emberscales: Because you needed saving, and it knows you now.
After all this time, the Matrix is very much aware of you,
Waspinator.
Shockblast and Haywire stand freshly-upgraded; Dinobot confirms
that Haywire’s ability is now cancelled out for the other
Archaicons. The fembot thanks her new leader, and swears
allegiance, with Shockblast following suit. Necrocide chuckles
to himself as he continues working on his DNA computer… and not
too far away, Panthalassa draws near.

Episode 7 – We All Fall Down
Airdate: Wednesday 31st December 2014
Synopsis: We see the Maximals, Archaicons and Necrocide as
Prophecy narrates; the Maximals prepare for their upcoming
conflict, with Emberscales talking with Ironfist, Firecloud and
Wingpulse working on their new constructs, various members of
the Fragments team prepping and a solemn Wildfire and Andromeda
hugging; the Archaicons setting their sights on their first
point of conquest; and Necrocide continuing his work on the DNA
computer.
Prophecy: My name is Prophecy. I see the future – my future –
and I know what lies ahead of me and my friends. Well, sometimes
I don’t see anything at all. I think that’s what fate is. It’s
hard to tell where you’re destined to go, who you’re destined to
be… you can guess, make educated assumptions, but you just don’t
know until you get there. Some people feel at peace with the
fate they seem to have. Others defy it – they do everything in
their power to avoid it, with no recognition that they’re
heading towards their real fate. The thing is, fate is
inescapable… whether it’s good or bad, you can’t avoid where
you’re going to wind up. Not being able to know what your fate
is, now that gives you a reason to fight. You don’t know, can’t
know, until the end. You have to fight for what you want,
because you just might get it after all.
Mirage continues looking at the remaining six Hope Braces,
analysing them, when Paladin enters. She points out that the
devices have octagonal spaces in them, and wonders if they are
designed to fit something into them. Paladin questions why she
is focusing on their design when it is their implications that
matter the most, but Mirage quips that she has spent enough time
as a ruler to feel comfortable enough in a position of
responsibility. Swingback then appears, lugging along a large
number of random weapons, and chimes in that being one of the
final Thirteen is a very big responsibility to have. The other
two bots question her collection of weapons, and the former
athlete comments that they need to be prepared to fight
Necrocide; therefore, she has gathered a range of weapons to use
in-combat.
Mirage: Swingback…
Swingback: Yes?
Paladin: What’s with all the weaponry?
Swingback: Well we need to prepare for our fight against Necro…
Necroslide or whatever, so I got all these weapons together.
Paladin asks if she knows how to use them, causing her to head
off to train with them. Mirage returns her attention to the Hope
Braces, and wonders who will wear them. Elsewhere on the ship,
Waspinator is talking with Arcrise about the Paradise boxes when
Ironfist approaches them – he asks if he can borrow the Valyssia
engine, before correcting himself to ‘use’. Arcrise asks why,
and Ironfist explains that he needs a power source. Narrowing
his eyes, Waspinator asks his old team-mate what is wrong, as he
has rarely seen him so sombre.
Waspinator: Something’s not right. I know you well enough,
Ironfist… what’s wrong?
The gorilla-bot forces a smile, and asks Waspinator if he could
retrieve the Ignition keys for him. Both Waspinator and Arcrise
remind him how powerful the engine is, but Ironfist explains
that Emberscales has given him permission to use it. Waspinator
is still concerned, but has Arcrise hand over the miniaturised
Valyssia engine, noting that it should enlarge on its own when
the Ignition keys are present. The leader then heads off to
retrieve the Ignition keys, just as the ship is rocked.
Aboard Leviathan, Necrocide smirks, having used his DNA
computer to activate the ship’s weapons systems. Grill is
stunned, and suggests the emperor leave the running of the ship
to the Cybertronians under his command, but Necrocide states
that he will not be using them for much longer. He activates
communications not just across the ship, but across the entirety
of his empire, informing them all that the next phase of his
plan is the total eradication of the Cybertronian race.
Necrocide: Greetings, Cybertronians far and wide! I have an
announcement for you all. Your services have been magnificent,
and you’ve done justice to your race. Sadly – for you, of course
– the next step in my plan is to see said race completely and
thoroughly wiped out of existence.
This is met with a peculiar mix of uproar and obedient
acceptance, and Necrocide silences Grill as he tries to speak
up. The subordinate makes his voice clear, observing that the
number of ships in close proximity to Leviathan has just risen
from one to several hundred. On Panthalassa, Hummingstreak,
Ripple and Straight-Aim celebrate the arrival of the colonies
that the Colonial Recruitment team visited and the rest of the
initial rebel ships, even as the amassed fleet commence a
synchronised attack on the imperial flagship.
Hummingstreak: Woohoo! We did it! We did it, we did it, all our
work paid off!
Straight-Aim: Our work? Let’s be fair, the three of us didn’t do
much.
Hummingstreak: Still, look, the colonies, every colony, I think,
they’re all here! We made a difference, all the Cybertronians in
the universe are coming to help!
Ripple: And the rest of the original fleet. Wonder where they’ve
been this whole time. I hope someone didn’t forget.
Necrocide struggles to coordinate a counterattack, and angrily
orders those in the bridge and the rest of his own fleet,
stationed nearby, to fight back. An all-out battle begins, with
ships on both sides being taken out. Emberscales makes an
announcement across Panthalassa, ordering all but the Home and
Fragments teams to board ships and join in the conflict – the
objective is to cause as much damage to Leviathan as possible.
Medusa, in her cells, yells out that Necrocide is close to
completing his DNA computer; Freeline passes, and Medusa asks to
be let out. The cat-bot knows better than to trust her, and
activates the prison sphere before escorting her out of her
cell. Kickback and Rapax report the conflict to Dinobot, who
responds that their concern is only who – or what – emerges from
the wreckage. Sawblade notes that he wishes he could watch, but
Dinobot scolds his second-in-command for his dishonourable
fascination with death.
Emberscales checks in on Firecloud and Wingpulse, asking if
they are ready with their new creations. The powerful fembots
state that they need more time, and Emberscales notes that they
may need to work on the move. Meanwhile, Hummingstreak, Ripple
and Straight-Aim reach the hangar, ready to head off on a ship,
to find only one left – the Dawn Katana. They board it, and
Straight-Aim attempts to start up the engine, only for the
ship’s A.I. to start complaining that he does not want to die
and that he has a team who need him.
Straight-Aim: Okay, let’s see how this baby runs…
Dawn Katana: Don’t call me baby! And don’t fly me around without
permission!
Ripple: We have a fight to take part in…
Dawn Katana: No! No way! I don’t want to die! I’m too young!
A-And anyway, I already have a team, and they need me, so don’t
you dare steal me!
Straight-Aim: It’s not stealing!
Hummingstreak: “It’s more like borrowing”, please tell me that’s
what you were going to say!
At that moment, Emberscales makes another announcement across
Panthalassa, requesting that everyone bar Waspinator and
Ironfist board the Dawn Katana and head to Leviathan. As the
former Prime heads though the ship, he passes Freeline and
Medusa – the Predacon barters with him, stating that she will be
useful in keeping them aware of what Necrocide is thinking.
Emberscales agrees, but reminds her that she must die to make
sure that Necrocide cannot return. Medusa grimly concurs, as she
and Freeline head off to the Dawn Katana. Necrocide’s forces
continue fighting against the rebels, as Necrocide himself works
on finishing his DNA computer. Emberscales enters the bridge of
Panthalassa, where Ironfist has the Valyssia engine, complete
with Ignition keys, tied into the ship; Emberscales checks that
Ironfist cannot activate the ship remotely, and the weapons
expert confirms it. He notes that he knows what he is doing and
is ready, and Emberscales apologises for having the bot’s worst
fear become a reality.
Ironfist: I know what I'm doing. I know the risks. I'm ready.
Emberscales: I see. Listen, I’m sorry… I remember back when
Necrocide trapped us in our worst fears… this was pretty much
yours. I wish it didn’t have to come to this.
Ironfist says it is okay, as Waspinator enters. Emberscales
tells the hornet-bot that he must talk in private with him,
leading him off elsewhere as Ironfist continues his work.
The Dawn Katana, with almost our entire hero cast on board,
weaves through the ongoing space conflict – Prophecy gradually
expands out an energy sphere around the entire ship,
concentrating deeply and protecting them from enemy fire.
Nightscream orders the non-combatants to remain on the ship,
while everyone else will move through the ship towards the
bridge. The Fragments team shall peel off as necessary, keeping
back any Imperial troops that attempt to stop them. The ship
reaches the hangar of Leviathan, and all but Hummingstreak,
Ripple, Straight-Aim and Freeline head off – the remaining four
use the ship’s weaponry to strike down the present troops, while
the others head off through the corridors. Emberscales and
Waspinator stand in a dark room, and the former Prime explains
that he believes it possible to weaken Necrocide, and to make it
harder for him to focus the extinction gene, by selecting a new
Prime. Further, he believes that the One True Matrix itself has
chosen Waspinator as that Prime, the leader for the future.
Emberscales: From what I can tell… from experience, and from all
you’ve done… the One True Matrix has chosen you to be the next
Prime. Whatever happens today, you’re the one who will lead us
tomorrow.
Waspinator is immediately in denial, but Emberscales reminds him
that he was young and unprepared when he first became Prime; he
truly believes that Waspinator is ready. Still shaken,
Waspinator is eased to his knees by Emberscales, who then takes
the Fragment extractor and forms the Matrix into its sword form,
noting that without the holder, he must use it like this. He
begins a swift ceremony, ignoring Necrocide’s false Prime-hood
and passing on the title to Waspinator, before driving the blade
into Waspinator’s chest. The extractor drops to the ground as
Waspinator writhes, his form once again transformed. Emberscales
suggests he pick a new name, riffing on his own use of his
original name as a Prime – standing to full height, fully
transformed into the One True Prime, Waspinator retitles himself
Unitus Prime.
Emberscales: So, would you like to select a new name for
yourself? I pretty much went from F**********e to F**********e
Prime, back when I didn’t need an alias, but I think a renaming
works better.
Waspinator: Then if I am the One True Prime… the one to bring
whatever is left of our people together, be it all of them or
all of a handful… I shall be Unitus Prime.
With that, Ironfist (watching via security cameras) activates
the teleportation, wishing the two luck as they vanish from the
ship.
Necrocide pauses his work, and Grill asks what is wrong. The
villain states that much of his power has vanished – a new Prime
has been chosen. Bitter now, he continues working on the DNA
computer, noting that he needs to make some changes with the
Matrix’s power out of his hands. Our heroes continue their
charge through Leviathan, with Scale, Wildfire and Andromeda
already fighting further back; Emberscales and Unitus Prime
materialise ahead of them, and the new Prime greets his stunned
team-mates. Emberscales asks Medusa what Necrocide is doing, and
she states that he is still working on the DNA computer – it is
now close to completion.
Emberscales: Medusa, report on Necrocide’s status?
Medusa: DNA computer still. Very nearly done, though. If you
have a plan, you better act fast.
The dragon-bot continues leading the charge, and asks Firecloud
and Wingpulse for their status – they claim that they are almost
ready, and will need just a short time to start spreading it…
although they will not be able to reach every Cybertronian. A
large group of troops appear, and Paladin and Swingback stay to
fend them off, while the rest continue on. Ironfist sits alone
in Panthalassa, which is converting into a gigantic fusion
cannon. He pin-points where the Maximals are within Leviathan,
which has turned almost completely side-facing now, and charges
the super-weapon up. Grill informs Necrocide of this, but the
lunatic roars at him to shut up, slicing his head off and
returning to his work.
Grill: Necrocide, the rebel flagship looks set to attack us,
rather devastatingly-
Necrocide: JUST SHUT UP!
*he slices Grill’s head off, and then turns back to the DNA
computer*
Necrocide: Stupid techno-organics…
Mirage tells Unitus that she likes his new look, and he thanks
her, before Arcrise calls out to him – she is struggling to hold
off another large platoon of Imperial troops, and he heads back
to assist her. Noting the new gap growing between the heroes,
Ironfist waits a little longer, until the bots are far enough
apart; then he thanks them all for everything, before firing the
fusion cannon – its single, almighty blast sheers through the
ship and destroys Panthalassa. Unitus and Arcrise are
dangerously close to the blast zone – Prophecy shields them with
an energy bubble, having stayed with them. She suddenly freezes
in shock, weakly calling Emberscales’ name.
As the Dawn Katana is rocked by the shockwave of the fusion
cannon strike, Freeline hears Arcrise whispering her voice.
Against the wishes of the others, she rushes out of the ship and
into the darkened corridors of Leviathan. Necrocide screams in
frustration as he tries desperately to get the DNA computer
working without any power in the ship – even then, Emberscales
bursts in, with the rest of his Home team, Mirage and Medusa
in-tow. The dragon-bot asks if he really plans to eradicate
their species, and the villain snarls that it would be an
honour, asking why the Maximals have to resist what their god
decrees. Emberscales notes that Primus created the extinction
gene as a failsafe, not a decree, just as the villain starts
cackling madly. Ignoring Emberscales, he states that he can use
his own mind to complete the DNA computer, hacking in even as
Firecloud and Wingpulse combine their powers to create a shell
on a string. It vanishes, even as the trio aboard the Dawn
Katana find three around their necks. Medusa has already snuck
off; finding an Imperial officer with a shell, she kills him and
takes it for herself.
Medusa: Pretty shell. I’ll be taking it; I don’t plan on dying
like you just did.
Firecloud and Wingpulse continue focusing, as the rest of the
team attack the unfazed Necrocide. Freeline reaches Arcrise; the
Imperial troops defeated, the all-powerful bot generates a
briefcase and hands it to Freeline, stating that she must
protect it with her life. Emberscales’ voice then reaches all of
the heroes, informing them to brace themselves as he plans to
explode the front half of the ship. Scale rushes Wildfire and
Andromeda on, while Paladin and Swingback hurry off. Freeline
runs, the Dawn Katana trio prepare the ship, and Medusa smirks.
Firecloud and Wingpulse continue focusing on the shells.
Necrocide notes that Emberscales shall die before exploding the
ship – and activates the gene.
Necrocide: You’ll die before destroying this ship! Primus curse
you, everyone!
Emberscales, Firecloud, Wingpulse, Nightscream, Sonar and
Constant instantly drop down, dead. The ships across space all
cease fire and begin to drift. The Archaicons observe from
Iustitia, and Dinobot observes that the deed is done. Mirage
hesitates, only for Emberscales to tell her to run. Necrocide is
stunned, and Emberscales observes that he can continue on for a
few moments as a former Prime. He grabs Necrocide’s arm and
plunges it into the maniac’s chest, overloading the DNA computer
– he tells Necrocide that nobody wins, as the half-ship
explodes, tearing through the surrounding fleets. [‘Aeon’
begins here]
We fade back from black, as we see a barren world – a meteorite
streaks through the sky, colliding down onto the surface. The
meteorite turns out to be Mirage, brutally damaged but alive.
She crawls out of the blast crater, and sees dead Cybertronian
bodies in the surrounding area. Barely able to walk properly,
she continues forward.
[We cut to black after the first use of the lyric “I’m out of my
mind”; the song continues through the credits, which include
inset clips from Legacy onwards, many reanimated]

'Aeon', by Anavae. A band that hopefully won't go sh*t. :P As
with Downfall, headphones are advised. This one is perhaps a
little less of a perfect match, but as I listened to it while
writing this episode, it felt really right tonally.
