Episode 46 – 715 Kilometres per Hour
Airdate: Saturday 10th May 2014
Synopsis: The camera pans over a tapestry depicting events since
the start of the first Legacy, leaping up to the present; it
becomes apparent that Prophecy is painting it all on the floor
of a small Cybertronian Embassy, hidden in the back alleys of
Sepurt. The other Maximals are sat in chairs, all watching
except for Waspinator and Mirage – the leader is insisting on
something that Mirage is disagreeing with. As the ambassador
approaches, Waspinator tells her that he needs to communicate
with the Archaicons.
Huntdown knocks at the door of Cross-Shot’s quarters, and she
welcomes him in, gently kissing him as he enters. He immediately
addresses her regarding her training with Dinobot, and she
reminds him that she and Dinobot served on the same team before.
Reminding her how much the Archaicons are losing their way,
Huntdown advises that she not feel that she can bring Dinobot to
his senses – Sickleclaw tried the same and has now fallen under
Sawblade’s thrall. Cross-Shot calmly explains that she knows
that Dinobot is still himself, and that the faction’s
ruthlessness is a short-term means to the long-term goal of
peace.
Cross-Shot: Listen, Huntdown. I’ve known Dinobot longer than any
of you, and he’s still acting like himself. He’s aware of what
he’s doing, and I’m sure he has a plan.
Huntdown: Cross-Shot…
Cross-Shot: And I can make do with all of the ruthlessness and
aggression for now, because in the long run, it’ll bring about
peace. That’s what we’re after, right?
The Maximals, now minus Waspinator and Mirage, are still sat in
the main hall of the Cybertronian Embassy; Wildfire questions
Prophecy about her painting (she explains that “it’s the 1000th
episode so she wanted to try and sum up everything”), while
Swingback awkwardly asks Paladin aside. In the ambassador’s
office, Waspinator explains their situation, including their
gathering of all of the Matrix fragments, before telling her the
legend of three blades for two hands. He points out the
Fibonacci spiral on his palm, noting that he believes this to be
of vital importance, and that he knows of only one way of
locating the other person with a Fibonacci spiral… Cross-Shot
and her fragment. However, Cross-Shot has joined the Archaicons,
and so Waspinator needs to contact the faction. The ambassador
agrees to this, and starts to locate the contact stream for the
Archaicons; all the while, Mirage points out to Waspinator that
this is his chance to contact the other Maximals, but he
declares that he wants to sort this out, personally, before
updating the Maximals on their status.
Mirage: Surely this is your opportunity to contact your old
team-mates and tell them what’s going on.
Waspinator: I’ll do so soon. For now, I want to sort this out,
without any intervention. Then I’ll tell them everything.
Mirage chuckles and notes that she likes when he acts selfish,
although he disagrees that it is selfishness. The ambassador
declares that she has found the stream.
As Sickleclaw and Sawblade discuss the next plan of action, the
receive communication from the Cybertronian Embassy; Sawblade
immediately opens it, and greets Waspinator and Mirage
sinisterly as they appear on the display. Waspinator demands to
speak to Dinobot, and Sawblade redirects the call directly to
Dinobot’s quarters. Here, the Archaicon leader demands that
Waspinator speak hastily – the Maximal leader requests
Cross-Shot’s presence on Valoran. Surprised, Dinobot asks why,
and Waspinator explains that he needs her services. The
Archaicon smirks, and tells Waspinator that, if he does bring
Cross-Shot to the planet, Waspinator must allow her to pass on
everything he tells her to the Archaicons.
Dinobot: Very well, Waspinator. But I have a condition – if I
bring Cross-Shot to you, then you will allow her to tell me
everything that you tell her. Do we have a deal?
Contemplating this, Waspinator accepts. Dinobot notes that
Cross-Shot shall be there shortly, and shuts the comm.-link,
smirking. Swingback tells Paladin that she cares about him as a
friend, but that she cannot love him. The lyrebird-bot smiles at
her, and softly states that he understands and appreciates her
friendship and is fine with the flirting now that he knows that
it means nothing. As Swingback heads off, he cheekily smacks her
butt; she instinctively punches him in the face, before
immediately and profusely apologising.
Swingback: I’m glad we had this talk. *she starts to walk off*
It went much better than I expected!
Paladin: My sentiments exactly, sweet-cheeks.
*he smacks her butt, and she instantly swings around, punching
him in the face; he falls to the floor as she realises*
Swingback: Oh! Oh, Primus, sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t- why
did you- I really didn’t mean to! Sorry, sorry!
Paladin: Apologising isn’t making it hurt any less…
Waspinator and Mirage exit the ambassador’s office, addressing
Prophecy, Scale, Wildfire, Arcrise and the Dawn Katana and
informing them that they are heading out to the edge of the city
to meet the Archaicons. Scale asks Waspinator why they are
insisting on following up on the legend, and the leader claims
that he is sure that it is important. Prophecy starts to recount
various instances where similar hints have had value. As the
group head into the entrance hall of the embassy, they find
Swingback tending to a dazed Paladin, much to their confusion.
A little while later, the Archaicon ship lands down in the
dusty fields outside of Sepurt – Dinobot leads Cross-Shot out of
the ship, as Sickleclaw, Sawblade and the rest of the inner
council watch on from inside. Waspinator is stood ahead of the
other Maximals, and Dinobot and Cross-Shot meet him; Dinobot
reminds him that she will tell the Archaicons everything she
hears, before stepping back towards the ship. Waspinator notes
that he likes Cross-Shot’s hair, and she coldly thanks him,
before asking what he wants.
Waspinator: Heh. Your hair looks nice like that.
Cross-Shot: Thank you. What do you want?
He states that he needs to find another Fibonacci spiral like
his own, somewhere in the omniverse, and wishes to use
Cross-Shot’s fragment ability to find it. The fembot notes that
her ability is not that powerful, but Waspinator reminds her
that he can increase its power with his spiral. He starts to do
so, as she reluctantly attempts to locate the spiral – she
reaches out, feeling across universes, her head aching more and
more as she continues, until she finally finds it. Paladin
quickly takes a ‘mental photograph’ of the destination from
Cross-Shot’s mind, and transfers it to the Dawn Katana, who
starts to put the coordinates into data form. Waspinator drops
Cross-Shot’s ability back down, and tends to her; as he does so,
he asks if she is truly happy with the Archaicons, as she did
not look like she felt comfortable amongst them. Cross-Shot
states that she is simply bearing with the aggressive attitude
of the faction at present, as it shall lead to something better
in the long run; Waspinator points out that this is exactly what
the Maximals were doing, leaving Cross-Shot shocked.
Cross-Shot: I’m… I’m biding my time. Right now, they’re- we’re
being quite destructive at the moment, but eventually,
everything will be at peace. This is for the best.
Waspinator: Isn’t that exactly what you saw in us? Acting in
haste for a better future?
At this point, Dinobot steps forward, and Waspinator heads off.
The Dawn Katana passes the coordinates of the other spiral to
the Maximals’ Timaeus drives, which they attach onto their
wrists. Waspinator then tests the process, punching his fist
forward, then turning it inwards, before pulling himself forward
by the fist; in doing so, he pulls himself through the fabric of
the universe. The others quickly follow, the Dawn Katana held
under Wildfire’s arm, until only the Archaicons are left.
Dinobot then turns to the ship, declaring to his faction that
they have a mission to undertake, as they start to disembark
from the ship.

Episode 47 – Left Hand
Airdate: Saturday 17th May 2014
Synopsis: Waspinator leads the Maximals in using their Timaeus
drives – punching his fist forward, turning it inwards, and
pulling himself forward by the fist… he drags himself through
universes, breaking through into a rocky coastline. The other
Maximals appear in short order, and look around their
destination, taken aback. Stepping backward to take in the
surroundings, Wildfire bumps into someone… a young,
black-and-white fembot with a satchel.
The fembot immediately hides her satchel, while greeting the
Maximals. Wildfire is immediately love-struck and starts talking
gibberish, much to the fembot’s amusement. Waspinator introduces
himself and the others, and the fembot says that her name is
Andromeda. Prophecy bounces forward, knocking Andromeda over –
the satchel spills out jewellery and shiny objects, as Prophecy
holds out Andromeda’s left hand, revealing a Fibonacci spiral on
the palm. Mirage remarks that it is an incredible coincidence,
but Waspinator, smiling gently, states that fate works in
mysterious ways.
Mirage: And of course, the person we’re looking for is the first
one we meet. So coincidental, it’s astonishing.
Waspinator: Fate works in mysterious ways…
As a confused Andromeda pries Prophecy off of her and gathers up
the contents of her satchel, she insists that the items are
hers, before asking what the Maximals’ business is. Waspinator
shows her his Fibonacci spiral, and explains that they happen to
be there to see her. The black-and-white bot suggests they head
back to her home, and begins to lead the Maximals up the coast.
Swingback immediately begins teasing Wildfire about his obvious
crush, which only flusters him further; Mirage asks Waspinator
if he is sure that this is the right option, and he claims that
he has faith that he and Andromeda are the only people with
Fibonacci spirals in all of reality. Overhearing this, Scale
notes that faith is not enough and that Waspinator is leading
the Maximals on a pointless diversion based on a Valoranian
legend. Arcrise counters that it is something worth looking into
all the same.
Scale: Faith’s not enough to go on. This is ridiculous; all of
this could be for nothing, and then you would’ve just wasted our
time… and for what, some little Valoranian legend?
Arcrise: That may be so, but it’s worth looking into. It could
mean so much.
Andromeda alerts the group that they are almost there, pointing
at a giant, majestic fortress nearby. Upon reaching it,
Andromeda uses an access code to open the large doors inside –
she welcomes the Maximals to the Court of Cepheus, just as said
bot heads over, flanked by others. He, too, welcomes the
Maximals, introducing himself and stating that he is leading a
hunting group. As his group departs, Andromeda heads off,
leading the Maximals to her room.
As they reach the room, Andromeda explains that the planet,
Pioathon, is home to an isolated Cybertronian colony, which has
developed a feudal system with Cepheus and Cassiopeia as the
rulers. Paladin quickly observes a hidden doorway, and as
Andromeda frantically insists that it is nothing, Scale opens
it, unveiling a large room full of treasures. Andromeda
awkwardly admits that she feels a compulsion to take shiny
objects, as Prophecy, Scale and Swingback explore the treasure
room. Waspinator sits down beside Andromeda and asks her how she
got the Fibonacci spiral on her palm; the fembot explains that a
strange fembot promised to take her to the greatest treasure in
existence, but instead they found only an empty beach.
Waspinator: Andromeda, I want to know how you got that spiral on
your palm.
Andromeda: I wish I could explain, but… well, I met this strange
fembot one time when I was looking for objects. We got talking,
and she promised to show me something that she called ‘the
greatest treasure in existence’. When we got there, though, it
was just a great big beach and a huge ocean, as far as the
horizon.
Waspinator: I see…
The spiral appeared on her hand around then, but she has no idea
why. Waspinator starts to explain what the Fibonacci spiral is,
only for Prophecy to noisily drag a large trunk, adorned in
jewels, out of the treasure room. Andromeda explains that she
found it washed up on the coast, near where she met the
Maximals, but has no idea how to open it. Prophecy manages to do
so with incredible ease, but an alarm starts to sound across the
fortress. Within moments, guards stream in, and Prophecy
immediately generates an energy bubble around the group.
Andromeda steps to the edge of the bubble, and questions the
guards – they explain that something in her room has breached
security.
Andromeda: What’s wrong? Why did the alarm go off?
Guard 1: There was a security breach.
Guard 2: It was traced to this room.
Scale observes that the trunk was shielding whatever is stored
inside, just as Cassiopeia enters. She instantly recognises the
trunk, and orders the guards to take Andromeda, destabilising
the energy bubble to grant them access. The Maximals begin to
fight back, but Cassiopeia telekinetically holds them back;
Wildfire attempts to counter her hold, to no avail, as Andromeda
is taken away along with the trunk. All the while, something
stirs deep beneath the sea.
Cepheus returns to the fortress while talking with Cassiopeia
via a comm.-link; she explains that Andromeda had gained
possession of the Cetus treasure, and Cepheus claims that there
is only one course of action. Cassiopeia closes the comm.-link,
and releases her telekinetic hold on the Maximals, telling them
that they too shall be dealt with before locking them in
Andromeda’s room. Mirage asks Prophecy what was in the trunk,
and she announces that they were the Ignition keys. As she heads
back into the treasure room, she explains that the Fibonacci
spirals are attracted to related objects, and that Andromeda
ended up on Pioathon because the Ignition keys were already
there. Scale manages to pick the lock on the door, and the group
head out, immediately finding guards and defeating them with
ease. Out at the coast, Andromeda is being chained to an
outcrop, as Cepheus bellows that her betrayal has angered Cetus,
the great monster of the depths. She will now be offered up as a
sacrifice.
Andromeda: Please, stop this! I’ve never done anything wrong!
U-Unless you count the stealing, but I’ll give it all back if
you want!
Cepheus: Andromeda! You have betrayed my court! You brought
Cetus’ treasure into our grounds, and enraged the great monster
of the depths himself! For your disgraceful deeds, you shall be
offered to Cetus as a sacrifice.
The ruler cries out to Cetus, as Cassiopeia sits herself down
amongst a set of stands. Meanwhile, an aerial vehicle holds the
trunk over the water. Just as Cepheus joins Cassiopeia in the
stands, the trunk is dropped… but an energy bubble encompasses
it and it floats. Arcrise lands atop the bubble, teleporting it
along with herself – Cepheus and Cassiopeia stand up, outraged,
as Waspinator, Scale, Mirage and Paladin surround them. As
Andromeda writhes, Wildfire approaches her, saying that he will
free her (although the moment she thanks him, he turns into a
babbling mess).
Wildfire: It’s okay. I’m here to free you!
Andromeda: Huh? You- you’re gonna free me?
Wildfire: W-Well, err-
Andromeda: Thank you! Thank you so much!
Wildfire: I-I- tha- was the help of the you of the me of the
save- I don’t- you said- we- I- you- the- the monster- the-
what?
Swingback and the Dawn Katana start to release Andromeda, just
as Cetus, a large aquatic creature, starts to approach. Wildfire
uses his telekinesis to hold it back, struggling but just about
managing, while Andromeda is freed. The Dawn Katana contacts
Waspinator, who leads the others down; Arcrise states that she
has the keys stored away, and Waspinator hands Andromeda a
Timaeus drive, noting that it all makes sense, before leading
the Maximals – Andromeda included – in use of the drives.
Cepheus immediately orders his forces to track them. On Valoran,
the Archaicon inner circle, along with Cross-Shot, flank Dinobot
and talk amongst themselves as he begins to unearth ‘Valoran’s
hidden gem’.

Episode 48 – Ignition, Part 1 – Keys
Airdate: Saturday 24th May 2014
Synopsis: Several days ago, on the Quintesson ship Iudicium;
Dinobot is accessing the ship’s data-core, and against
Scorpinax’s advice, connects the cortical lead to his head. He
takes in a large amount of information rapidly, as flashes of
the Duality myth and the word ‘engine’ appear. The Archaicon
leader is left reeling.
The present, outside Sepurt, Valoran – the Maximals, including
Andromeda, teleport in via their Timaeus drives. Andromeda is
shocked, trying to make sense of what has happened as the Dawn
Katana explains that it is the same method they used to reach
Pioathon. Waspinator immediately notices that the Archaicon ship
is still present, and orders Arcrise to fly over the area to
locate the Archaicons. As the phoenix-bot sets off, Mirage asks
Waspinator why he is interested in the other faction’s
activities; the leader observes that the faction could have come
to Valoran, the home-world of a species who were once at war
with the Cybertronians, at any time, but chose to do so upon the
Maximals’ invitation and through their departure.
Mirage: Why does it matter what the Archaicons are up to?
Waspinator: Because it’s strange. Valoran is the home-world of a
species that, long ago, fought a war against our own race. That
would potentially be a valuable asset if the Archaicons wish to
confront the other factions. They could have come here at any
point for that… but they didn’t. Even when they knew we were
here, they didn’t come – and they could outnumber us easily, if
they needed to. It wasn’t until we invited them here, and then
left, that they stayed. It doesn’t add up.
Scale and Paladin both agree, stating that the faction seems to
be up to something, while Andromeda is confused and Prophecy
remains unusually quiet. Elsewhere, Dinobot is overseeing the
excavation of ‘Valoran’s hidden gem’, evidently a machine of
some kind, as the inner circle approach him. Sawblade asks what
they should do, and the leader claims that they need to evacuate
Sepurt, as the use of the machine puts them at risk. He adds
that they should remove the civilians by any means necessary,
and Sickleclaw asks him what honour there would be in killing
civilians, and Dinobot claims that it would be a more honourable
death than to be destroyed by the machine, which is enough to
convince her.
Sickleclaw: What honour is there in killing someone to save them
from death?
Dinobot: A death at the hands of a warrior is a death soaked in
honour. Dying at the hands of a machine is senseless.
Sawblade leads the inner circle off, along with some lower
Archaicons including Cross-Shot. Arcrise discretely flies past
overhead, and turns back to inform the Maximals of the
Archaicons’ location; Dinobot catches her, and tells his bots to
keep digging as he heads off. Sawblade remarks to his team that
they shall make sure that the area is clear of citizens, while
activating his chainsaw; he adds that anything goes on this
mission, as Huntdown and Cross-Shot grimace.
On Pioathon, Cepheus and Cassiopeia are securing a number of
Æsahættr-type blades, while their top scientists work on getting
a lock on the coordinates that Andromeda and the Maximals
teleported to. One of the guards asks if it is necessary to hunt
Andromeda down, but Cepheus states that she must be put to
justice for her crimes. Cassiopeia whispers to him that they may
have to explain the truth of Cetus’ treasure.
Cassiopeia: They’re unruly.
Cepheus: We’re about to lead them into the unknown; they want to
know why.
Cassiopeia: If it goes on… we may have to tell them the true
nature of Cetus’ treasure.
All the while, Arcrise returns to the Maximals, explaining that
the Archaicons seem to be excavating something, and Sawblade was
leading a group towards Sepurt. Prophecy insists that they keep
far away from the Archaicons, and tells Arcrise to keep the
Ignition keys safe. Waspinator asks her to explain, but she
claims that she cannot – that is Dinobot’s responsibility. The
Archaicons work their way through Sepurt, with Airazor, Sawblade
and Toxiclaw all unreservedly attacking the civilians to drive
them out. Despite meeting some resistance, most notably from the
gladiatorial combatants, they simply increase the intensity of
their own attacks. By the same token, Huntdown and Cross-Shot
are forced to fight against the civilians, although they
obviously have no interest in doing so. A gladiator attacks
Cross-Shot, and her knives are scattered; she quickly draws her
bow and shows off her skill, fending the opponent off but
sparing him. Scorpinax instead swiftly kills him while he is
down, leaving Cross-Shot disturbed. She gathers her two knives,
as Huntdown passes her, stating that they need to talk after the
evacuation.
Huntdown: Cross-Shot…
Cross-Shot: I hate this.
Huntdown: I know. We need to talk, after this is over.
Sickleclaw corners an injured gladiator, and assures him he
shall die with honour, before stabbing him through the chest.
Sawblade cheers the faction on, as he continues slicing
civilians open and apart, laughing madly.
The Maximals are running towards Sepurt, with Andromeda still
confused as to what is going on; Wildfire explains that the
Archaicons are a faction driven to protect those ravaged by
conflict between the Maximals and Predacons, but they appear to
have become more and more twisted themselves. Before the group
can go any further, Dinobot intercepts them; he tells them that
he cannot allow them to continue on. Waspinator demands to know
what the Archaicons are doing, and Dinobot claims that he shall
be honest: they are excavating the Valyssia engine.
Waspinator: Dinobot… tell me. Tell me why you’re here. Tell me
why you waited until now.
Dinobot: Hmph. I’ll spare you falsifications, and grant you an
honest answer. We Archaicons are here to excavate a machine
known as the Valyssia engine.
*Waspinator’s eyes widen*
Waspinator: Valyssia…?
He elaborates that it is a machine used to ‘write fate’ – to
alter reality for specific ends. Mirage immediately reaches the
conclusion that he wishes to rewrite all Cybertronians into
Archaicons, but Dinobot remarks that he has no desire to twist
people’s beliefs. Instead, he shall save reality by writing the
Maximals and Predacons out of existence. Waspinator insists that
this is not who Dinobot is, but the Utahraptor-bot snarls that
it is simply growth and change – that Waspinator has simply
resisted changing all of this time. The Maximal darkly comments
that that is not true, while Prophecy whispers to Arcrise.
Waspinator: This isn’t you, Dinobot! Why are you doing all of
this? What happened to the bot I used to know?
Dinobot: I changed! I changed, Waspinator; I grew. It’s what
people do. Cross-Shot has done the same, but you fail to
comprehend her growth either. The problem lies with you, and
your inability to change.
Waspinator: I have changed, old friend… more than you care to
acknowledge.
Dinobot states that the Valyssia engine requires eight Ignition
keys to activate it. He adds that the coordinates that the
location that Cross-Shot saw matched the one stated as the
location of the keys, and that he can conclude that the Maximals
have them. Swingback asks where he gained all of this
information, and Dinobot remarks that it was stored in the
data-core of Iudicium. Arcrise remotely randomises the
coordinates in the group’s Timaeus drives; they notice, and
Waspinator orders the group to use the drives. They all teleport
at once, as a smirking Dinobot takes out a device that shows
nine sets of coordinates. Just then, dozens of slices appear in
the air, and Cepheus and Cassiopeia lead their troops through –
they immediately ask Dinobot where Andromeda is.

Episode 49 – Ignition, Part 2 – As Divisions Form
Airdate: Saturday 31st May 2014
Synopsis: The Maximals, minus Arcrise, find themselves each in
different universes, on random planets, each thankfully
isolated. Arcrise’s voice reaches their ears, and explains that
the Archaicons will be coming for them. The eight Ignition keys
materialise, one for each bot, and Arcrise tells them to run.
Outside the burning Sepurt, Dinobot clearly tells Cepheus and
Cassiopeia that he does not know who Andromeda is. Cepheus
believes him to be lying, but as he goes to charge, Dinobot
draws the Omniconfigurator, halting the ruler. Cassiopeia
explains that they are hunting a criminal, Andromeda, who was
set free by a group of Maximals – Dinobot notes that the
Maximals he knew had a new member with them, but they have
scattered to nine differing coordinates.
Cassiopeia: We’re here on a hunt. Andromeda is a criminal who we
were putting to justice when a group of Maximals set her free.
They crossed universal boundaries and wound up here.
Dinobot: There is a group of Maximals that I know… they were
with a new member when I spoke to them moments ago.
Cepheus: Direct us to them, at once!
Dinobot: They are scattered now; each of them to a different
universe, if the coordinates I have secured are any indication.
Smirking, he adds that they have something he desires, and
suggests that their forces unite to hunt the Maximals; they can
then take Andromeda, while he regains what he needs. Cassiopeia
agrees to this, although Cepheus makes clear his distrust of
Dinobot. At that moment, Sawblade leads the Archaicons back from
Sepurt; Dinobot hands his right hand the coordinate device, and
asks him to escort Cepheus, Cassiopeia and their troops to the
ship and plan treks to each of the coordinates. Swingback and
the Dawn Katana make their way through a crystalline valley,
with the A.I. complaining about his recent lot in life.
Chuckling, Swingback tells him that it always seems darkest just
before the dawn.
Swingback: Relax, buddy. Things seem bad now, but it always
seems darkest just before the dawn.
Dawn Katana: That’s called night.
Swingback: Do ships always take famous sayings literally?
Paladin is wading through a swamp, while Wildfire is crossing
multiple rickety rope-bridges; Andromeda is flying over alien
canopies in beast mode, Scale is heading down industrial mining
chambers, and Mirage is heading through snowy tundra. Waspinator
is sat in a cavern on a stormy tropical island, looking over his
Ignition key. Noticing intricate markings, he wonders what their
full potential is. While he does this, Prophecy is sat
cross-legged in a desert, Ignition key in-hand; she moves it
forward in the air as if inserting it into an invisible lock,
and then rotates it, all similar motions as the Timaeus drive.
As she swings the key back out, an arc of glowing energy slashes
out.
Sawblade, Cepheus and Cassiopeia discuss the plan of action as
the Æsahættr-type blades are programme with the various
coordinates. Most of the rest of the Archaicon inner circle
stand nearby, except for Huntdown; he is deeper in the ship with
Cross-Shot. He tells her, in blunt terms, that he feels that the
Archaicons have become too corrupt. The fembot remarks that this
may be so, but they are still aiming for the best ending –
Huntdown counters that he no longer feels that they are. He
unveils two Æsahættr-type blades that he sequestered, programmed
with one of the Maximals’ coordinates. Offering one to
Cross-Shot, he asks if she will join him in saving their
species, but she refuses, stating that the Maximals are the ones
in the wrong.
*Huntdown holds out a blade to Cross-Shot*
Huntdown: This is our chance to do right. Will you join me? Will
you help me save our species?
Cross-Shot: No. What you’re about to do is wrong. The Maximals
are wrong. This is all so wrong. We can make it work, but not
like this, not with them.
Huntdown gently kisses her, before using one of the blades,
slicing through reality and heading through. The ship’s
computers detect this, but Sawblade hides the alert before
anyone else can see it. Huntdown finds himself stood in an
exotic tropical rainforest, and quickly detects a Maximal signal
flying further away from his coordinates. Thinking quickly, he
patches the coordinates of the signal into the blade, and slices
his way to the location – he appears beside the flying
Andromeda, but immediately falls to the canopy. A freaked
Andromeda tries to fly off, but he calls out to her, telling her
that Cepheus and Cassiopeia are hunting her.
Andromeda: Aaah! Now there are people falling from the sky!
Huntdown: Wait! You’re Andromeda, right? Cepheus and Cassiopeia
are after you!
She immediately turns back to him, landing down in the treetops
and asking him to explain. Outside of the Archaicon ship, the
Archaicons and Cepheus, Cassiopeia and their troops are
prepared; Sawblade leads the use of the blades, with nine groups
each heading off. Sawblade, of course, leads his into the same
location as Huntdown, having observed those that the ship
detected. He mutters under his breath that traitors shall be
punished.
In the deepest levels of the Iacon archives of a
purely-technological Cybertron, Arcrise is looking through
records, including those pertaining to the Cybertron-Valoran
war. Up in the streets, a group of Archaicons and Pioathon
troops appear; the surrounding Cybertronians immediately
consider them a threat, and swarm them ‘for the glory of
Necrocide’. Huntdown finishes explain the situation to
Andromeda, and she thanks him, before suggesting he tell the
others the same and help them reunite (she awkwardly notes that
she is very much in at the deep end).
Huntdown: … so I went ahead and used one of the blades. I wound
up here, and when I detected you, I jumped the distance you’d
covered to reach you. It’s a good thing it was you, too…
Andromeda: Thanks. It’s good to know what’s going on, just a
little.
Huntdown: You’re… welcome.
Andromeda: Now go and tell the others. They all need to know.
Use more of those blades or something. We need to get back
together. I mean, this is crazy… talk about ‘in at the deep
end’…
Nodding, Huntdown switches the coordinates on the blade,
travelling back to the Archaicon ship as Andromeda transforms
and flies on. The Lycaenops-bot secures the other eight
coordinates into his blade, and labels Andromeda’s. Scorpinax
draws his attention, but the shady bot says he will do nothing
but observes, as his Vok-warped eyes shine. Sickleclaw, Airazor,
Toxiclaw, Cepheus and Cassiopeia lead various other groups in
other universes, while Cross-Shot takes part in yet another
group. A group without any known bots searches across the stormy
island that Waspinator is on; aware of this, the Maximal engages
his faceplate and charges out, attacking his enemies, only for
Huntdown to tear through and assist him. Waspinator is taken by
surprise, but the Archaicon states that he believes that the
Archaicons’ plan will do more harm than good. Unsure if he can
trust the bot, but recalling the turn to light of another
Huntdown, Waspinator hands him the fragment extractor and asks
him to prove himself by retrieving Cross-Shot’s fragment.
Waspinator: … I met another Huntdown before. He was an evil
Prime in a twisted world… and he turned to the light. I hate to
be as presumptuous as to call you evil just for being an
Archaicon, but I have to believe that this isn’t a trap.
*he takes out the fragment extractor*
Waspinator: This is the fragment extractor, as you may recall.
It’s used to gather all of the Matrix fragments… and aside from
those in myself and my team, the only remaining one is the one
still within Cross-Shot. I trust you know who she is?
Huntdown: You could say that…
*Waspinator realises what he means, and smiles a little, holding
the extractor out to him*
Waspinator: Take this. Retrieve Cross-Shot’s fragment and bring
it to me.
Huntdown nods, slicing his way back to the ship as Waspinator
returns his focus to the attacking team. In the Archaicon ship,
Scorpinax is contacted by Dinobot, who orders him to return to
the fortress with the remaining Archaicons and retrieve all of
their equipment. As Scorpinax prepares the ship, Dinobot stands
beside the fully-excavated Valyssia engine.

Episode 50 – Ignition, Part 3 – Other Villains
Airdate: Saturday 7th June 2014
Synopsis: Waspinator is sat in the cave on the stormy island;
Arcrise’s voice reaches him along with the other Maximals,
suggesting they use their Timaeus drives to continue running.
However, Waspinator observes that he has to stay where he is
until Huntdown returns. Meanwhile, on Valoran, Dinobot escorts
the floating Valyssia engine to the edge of Sepurt, crying out
to the land that it shall go down in Cybertronian history.
The Archaicon ship lands down outside of the fortress; inside,
Scorpinax assigns responsibilities to the others, which includes
Kickback and Rapax. They head off to the fortress, Scorpinax’s
eyes taking in everything. As Sickleclaw leads her team through
the swamp, unswerving, Huntdown watches behind a tree. Seeing
that Cross-Shot is not with them, he slices through reality and
jumps across. Meanwhile, Sickleclaw becomes confused as the
Maximal signal vanishes. Paladin bursts into a tribal village,
frightening the villagers, as he continues running with his
Ignition key. Scale reaches the bottom of the mining chambers,
and uses his Timaeus drive, finding himself underwater –
surprised, he quickly heads to the surface, and realises that he
is in an ocean. Grumbling, he uses the device again, although he
struggles due to the water resistance. Appearing in an abandoned
space station, he decides to use the location against those
chasing him. Mirage appears in a volcanic area, cursing the
fluctuating temperatures she is encountering; her pursuers, lead
by Airazor, start to patch her coordinates into their blades, as
Huntdown watches from a distance.
Mirage: Oh, sure. First the freezing cold, then the boiling hot.
It’s like some kind of divine punishment…
Cursing under his breath at Cross-Shot’s absence, he slashes
out. In a universe not unlike our own (and in live-action),
Andromeda bursts into the middle of a street; the people panic,
and a shocked Andromeda quickly bursts out again, ending up in
an exotic, glowing alien landscape. In the rainforest, Sawblade
comes to the conclusion that Huntdown can only be heading to the
other Maximal coordinates, and as his team patch in Andromeda’s
new destination, Sawblade tells them to go on without him. They
head off on their paths – the rest of the team wind up in the
Earth street, now filled with government teams holding advanced
weaponry. Sawblade quickly checks the mining chamber team,
headed by Toxiclaw; the Megalania-bot states that Huntdown has
not been near.
Sawblade: Toxiclaw, you haven’t seen Huntdown around anywhere,
perchance?
Toxiclaw: He hasn’t joined us…
*she checks a device in her hand*
Toxiclaw: And he hasn’t come up on the sensors at any point.
Sawblade: That’s all I needed to hear. Thanks for your time.
Heading off to his next destination, Sawblade finds Huntdown
trying to see further down the valley that Swingback was in.
As Scorpinax works on backing up his computer systems, two Vok
generate themselves behind him. They immediately tell him that
the Archaicons shall fall – Scorpinax claims that he is only
their observer, and will not act on their behalf. However, the
Vok remark that it is nothing to do with actions they shall
take, but for mistakes made.
Vok 1: We are not intending on taking action. Far from it.
Vok 2: You shall fall for mistakes made.
Kickback and Rapax continue carrying equipment outside of
Scorpinax’s quarters, blissfully unaware of the conversation
within. Sawblade cackles madly at Huntdown, and observes the
fragment extractor. He quickly pieces together that Huntdown is
trying to obtain Cross-Shot’s fragment, and tells him that
Cepheus is leading this team. Huntdown immediately slashes away,
and Sawblade tracks the coordinates. Deeper down the valley,
Cepheus is confused by the disappearance of Swingback’s
coordinates; the fembot and the Dawn Katana find themselves in a
golden crop field. Wildfire reaches the end of yet another
bridge, as his pursuers cross the previous one, Cross-Shot
amongst them. The Vok’s explanation starts here, as they note
that one bot acted as an uncontrolled variable in their plan. As
Scorpinax stands beside his desk, they remark that their
intention with Hatchet was to bring the Maximals and Archaicons
together on the path facing a greater evil. However,
Cross-Shot’s faction-switch redrew the battle lines. They even
suggest that this is truly why Arcrise was reborn “prematurely”
– fate’s ditch attempt to unite Waspinator and Dinobot.
Vok 2: Perhaps the birth of Arcrise before her powers had
matured was more than a response to external stimuli; it may
well be fate taking action in an attempt to unite Waspinator and
Dinobot where our own arrangements were not enough.
Scorpinax asks what great evil they would need to unite against,
but the Vok claim that it is too early to explain. As Wildfire
uses his Timaeus drive, materialising in a large maze, Huntdown
slices into the rickety-bridge world, and manages to see
Cross-Shot ahead. He calls out to her and starts to run, but
Sawblade slices through behind him and chops off the bot’s left
arm with his chainsaw. Huntdown stumbles, but continues on, as
Sawblade laughs maniacally and tells him that he will not live a
moment longer.
Prophecy is still experimenting with her Ignition key, when
Cassiopeia and her team reach her. The crazed fembot waves at
them, before using her Timaeus drive, arriving in the same
library as Arcrise – she immediately shows her team-mate the
Ignition keys’ ability, and Arcrise observes that they should
gather their allies again. She works on tracking the Maximals’
Timaeus drives while Prophecy notices her analysis on the Matrix
of Leadership and the Eternal Heart. Scorpinax asks the Vok what
their plan is now, and they inform him that they are to wipe
their slate clean and start over once the upcoming conflict is
over.
Scorpinax: So… now what? What do you plan on doing?
Vok 1: We shall wipe the slate clean – remove ourselves and our
actions, until the dust has settled upon the conflict soon to
begin.
With that, they painfully take away Scorpinax’s eyes, leaving
him blinded, and inform him that they shall be destroying the
fortress. The Mixopterus-bot finishes downloading his data into
a tiny hand-held device just as the computers explode. Other
parts of the fortress also begin to explode, and Scorpinax
stumbles into the corridor, pleading for assistance. Kickback
and Rapax carry him out quickly, reaching the ship just as the
fortress completely explodes. As Huntdown continues running to
Cross-Shot, Sawblade slices at his back and even manages to take
a chunk out of his leg. Cross-Shot rushes to meet Huntdown as he
yells that he needs to take her fragment. He swap his blade for
the fragment extractor, taking the fragment even as Sawblade
drives his chainsaw through Huntdown’s chest, cutting into his
spark. Huntdown thanks Cross-Shot, kisses her and tells her to
be safe, before putting the extractor between his teeth, getting
the blade and slicing back to Waspinator’s location. He
forcefully dives through, sliding off of the chainsaw, but
Sawblade uses his blade to slice at Huntdown’s waist, bisecting
him as his top half continues through the tear, landing down
hard on the ground near Waspinator. Sawblade cackles that he
will surely die from his injuries as Cross-Shot’s eyes well up;
Waspinator takes the fragment extractor, apologising and
thanking Huntdown.
Sawblade: Heh… hehehehehahahahahahahaha! I won’t waste my time
following him. He’s not going to make it out of that universe.
Doesn’t that make you happy, Cross-Shot? The traitor is dead.
Long live the Archaicons! I love this game.
The Lycaenops-bot says he shall die happy in the knowledge that
the Maximals shall protect Cross-Shot and save Dinobot from
himself, as life leaves him.

Episode 51 – Ignition, Part 4 – Dawning of Chaos
Airdate: Saturday 14th June 2014
Synopsis: In the depths of a parallel Cybertron, Prophecy and
Arcrise are finishing their preparations; Arcrise notes that she
is struggling to reach out to all of the Timaeus drives, but
Prophecy assures her that she can make it. Waspinator bursts
into the midst of a dust-storm, and as he swings about his arm
holding the Ignition key, it releases an arc of light that cuts
through the cloud, much to his surprise.
Sawblade and Cross-Shot slice into the edge of Sepurt, next to
Dinobot and the Valyssia engine – the right hand explains that
Huntdown betrayed the Archaicons and took Cross-Shot’s fragment
(before being fatally wounded), and that the Maximals continue
to elude them. Dinobot notes how they could have used
Cross-Shot’s fragment, before transforming the Omniconfigurator
into an elaborate cannon – he remarks that, if the Maximals are
using Alternity constructions, then he shall replicate it. He
fires, and the space in front of them shatters in eight spots.
Across reality, each of the Maximals suddenly finds their
Ignition key struck by a force with a shattering in space
nearby. Dinobot orders Sawblade to bring the other teams back,
and to follow the shattered spaces and bring him the Ignition
keys. Before departing, Sawblade asks Dinobot why he does not
just kill the Maximals from across universes; the leader remains
silent.
Sawblade: … hey, Dinobot.
Dinobot: Yes?
Sawblade: If you can reach across universes with the
Omniconfigurator… why not just kill the Maximals right now?
*Dinobot does not answer*
The Maximals all (barring Prophecy and Scale) attempt to travel
to other universes to escape the shatter-points, but find that
new points appear wherever they go. The Dawn Katana informs
Swingback that it seems to be related to the Ignition keys,
which Swingback observes is rather obvious. Arcrise contacts
them, suggesting they keep jumping as fast as they can and it
may break them free of the connection – she turns to Prophecy
and nods, as she starts literally jumping on the spot (before
realising what Arcrise actually means and using her Timaeus
drive).
Arcrise: Arcrise again. I’m sure you all know that your Ignition
keys are now being tracked, and shatter-points are appearing
wherever you go, connecting each universe. I’d advise you run –
keep jumping from one universe to the next, as fast as you can,
and it might make the connections too complex to hold up. It’s
all we have right now – the Ignition keys absolutely must not
fall into Dinobot’s hands. Just keep jumping.
*she turns to Prophecy and nods; Prophecy nods back, and starts
jumping on the spot*
Prophecy: … oh! You mean with the Timaeus drives! I get it!
*she users her Timaeus drive to head to another universe*
The phoenix-bot then quickly gathers the information she has
found, turning it into holograms and storing it in a small
device, before using her own Timaeus drive. The Archaicons and
the Pioathon forces gather by the Valyssia engine; upon
questioning by Cepheus and Cassiopeia, Dinobot explains that he
learnt of it from the data-core of a Quintesson ship. Sickleclaw
notices the absence of Huntdown, and Sawblade explains that he
betrayed the faction and is now dead, which Sickleclaw decides
to be a good thing. Dinobot orders the allied forces to head
through the shatter-points.
Scale is still aboard the abandoned space station as a team
lead by Airazor enters via the shatter-point – the room they
appear in immediately shuts itself off, and Scale’s voice
appears over the sound system, noting that he was able to rework
his plan easily to compensate for his pursuers to appear through
the shatter-point.
Scale: I’m glad you took your time. I had a whole plan set up,
but this shatter-point business almost took me back to square
one. Guess I’m lucky that I could compensate and piece things
back together again. In short – welcome to my trap.
However, the Maximal is taken by surprise as Airazor appears
through a tear, noting that they still have their blades before
firing at Scale’s hand. The Archaicon catches the Ignition key,
thanks Scale, and returns through first the tear and then (with
his team) the shatter-point, which Dinobot seals off. Scale is
angered, but Arcrise appears with him before he can act – she
warns him not to head to Valoran alone, though he says that he
would not have. Across reality, Waspinator, Prophecy, Paladin,
Mirage, Wildfire and Swingback are all hunted by
Archaicon/Pioathon forces teams, with the pursuers quickly
catching up. Andromeda finds herself in an intense jamming zone
(to the point of inducing headaches), much to her distress;
Cassiopeia and her team, including Cross-Shot, catch up with
her. The ‘queen’ approaches the younger bot and explains to her
that ‘Cetus’ treasure’ was on the planet when it was first
colonised – it was dumped into the ocean to protect it. The
Ignition keys unlock fate, and should not fall into ‘mortal
hands’.
Cassiopeia: They’re not just ornaments, nor ancient relics to be
admired – they have the power to unlock fate itself. Mortal
hands such as ours are not suited to touch them… it would be
unwise for the fallible to hold such power.
Confused and subdued, Andromeda does not resist as Cassiopeia
takes her Ignition key. Waspinator suddenly appears, and upon
noticing the jamming effect, he uses his Fibonacci spiral to
decrease it. As a Toxiclaw-lead team heads through Waspinator’s
shatter-point, he grabs Andromeda’s hand, gives Cross-Shot a
quick glance (which unsettles her) and uses his Timaeus drive to
jump both of them. Toxiclaw suggests that Cassiopeia’s team head
back with her key, and the regal bot leads them off while
Toxiclaw’s team continue hunting Waspinator.
The Archaicon ship lands down as Dinobot takes the second
Ignition key from Cassiopeia – Scorpinax is aided out by
Kickback and Rapax, and the shady bot informs Dinobot that their
fortress has been destroyed. When Dinobot probes further,
Scorpinax remarks that it was the Vok, which surprises the
Archaicon leader – he asks how long Scorpinax has been in
contact with the Vok, and learns that it started in the
faction’s earliest days. Angered, Dinobot decides that Scorpinax
shall retain his blindness as punishment.
Dinobot: You have betrayed the trust I placed in you. I could
have seen to it that your eyes were restored… but now, I feel it
a fitting punishment for your actions that you remain blinded
from here on.
Paladin duels with Cepheus, proving his agility against the
regal bot but struggling with only one sword (holding his key
with the other hand). Eventually, Cepheus manages to wrest the
key from him, and retreats – Scale and Arcrise join Paladin, and
explain that, now that they are without keys, the Archaicons are
not hunting them. Swingback decides to stop running, and goes
into feral mode as a team without any known bots arrive. Though
the various bots struggle against Swingback’s ferocious attacks,
one of them finally manages to secure her Ignition key, and runs
back through the shatter-points while she is distracted.
Sickleclaw lunges at a fleeing Wildfire, who manages to
telekinetically hold her back – she warns him that she will give
him an honourable death, and almost manages to distract him from
the other approaching bots, who he holds back. However, he
overloads his telekinesis and the key blasts into enemy hands.
Another team of unknowns manage to crush Mirage under a boulder
and take her key; after they leave, Scale, Paladin, and Arcrise
appear, and the phoenix-bot heals Mirage.
Mirage: Thank you.
Arcrise: You’re welcome.
Mirage: That boulder was a touch uncomfortable.
Scale: Just a touch, huh?
Sawblade leads Prophecy’s pursuers; the crazed fembot stops
suddenly, and uses the Ignition key to fire an intense energy
blast at them. Thinking quickly, Sawblade uses another bot as a
shield, approaching Prophecy, only for the Maximal to stop and
hand over her key. She uses her Timaeus drive, and appears
alongside the other Maximals, now only missing Waspinator and
Andromeda. As Sawblade returns Prophecy’s key to Dinobot, the
leader notes that only one key remains… Waspinator’s. All the
while, Waspinator and Andromeda continue fleeing, clasping
Fibonacci spiral-adorned hands.

Episode 52 – Ignition, Part 5 – Choices
Airdate: Saturday 21st June 2014
Synopsis: Waspinator and Andromeda reach an abandoned
Cybertronian citadel; the magpie-bot notes that she is scared,
although she quietly adds that it is a good scared. Grimacing,
Waspinator tells her that they cannot run forever, and quickly
teaches her how to use her Fibonacci spiral, and announces that
she was chosen by fate, before Toxiclaw and her forces arrive
through the shatter-point.
The land outside Sepurt – Toxiclaw leads her team back,
Ignition key in-hand. Dinobot takes the key, but as he goes to
approach the Valyssia engine, Cepheus and Cassiopeia confront
him. They ask what his intentions are, and though he claims that
it does not matter to them, he eventually explains that he is to
eradicate any Cybertronian across reality who does not wish to
cease war and join the Archaicons. Pioathon’s leaders are
disgusted by this, as they have not participated in war and
simply wish to be left alone, yet would also be slain. Cepheus
almost orders an attack, but Cassiopeia leads him aside. Dinobot
inserts the Ignition keys, as Cepheus and Cassiopeia lead their
forces off into the ruins of Sepurt. Sickleclaw points this out
to Dinobot, but the leader remarks that they can do nothing to
stop him. With all eight keys inserted, the engine begins to
flood with a glowing fluid substance. As Sickleclaw walks off,
Cross-Shot asks her if Dinobot’s word is enough for her; the two
argue, and when Sickleclaw claims that Dinobot is infallible,
Cross-Shot responds that no one is.
Cross-Shot: Huntdown is dead because of all of this-
Sickleclaw: Huntdown defied Dinobot!
Cross-Shot: Dinobot didn’t kill him.
Sickleclaw: He didn’t have to.
Cross-Shot: You think Dinobot would have wanted Huntdown dead?
*Sickleclaw pauses for thought*
Sickleclaw: No, but he never would have wanted Huntdown to
betray him, either.
Cross-Shot: Why are you being so obstinate?
Sickleclaw: I’m not being obstinate! Dinobot knows what he’s
doing! I will never lose my faith in him, because he’s
infallible and untainted by anyone else’s virtues!
Cross-Shot: No one is infallible, Sickleclaw. Believe me.
Andromeda frets over events, while Waspinator recites the legend
of three blades for two hands to himself. The other Maximals
burst in via their Timaeus drives, and immediately ask
Waspinator what they shall do now. The leader notes that they
must return to Dinobot and halt his plans, but Paladin points
out that they need more power. After some thought, Mirage tells
Waspinator to slash her chest with the Matrix sword. The leader
is confused, but Mirage insists; he slashes, and she attempts to
use her psychometry but instead displays alchemical abilities.
She observes that their bodies are adapted to the fragments, so
they should be able to freely switch them out and use a variety
of powers. Waspinator asks the bots if they are ready, and their
responses make him smile as they prove how far they have all
come.
Waspinator: Okay. Are you all ready for this?
Mirage: Waspinator…
Scale: We’re a team. We can rely on one another.
Wildfire: We can step up and do anything.
Swingback: No more running. No more hiding.
Paladin: If things get tough, we cover each other.
Arcrise: We have each other.
Andromeda: To rely upon.
Prophecy: And we’re super-awesome! And the best!
Mirage: That’s who we are, Waspinator. A team.
*Waspinator smiles*
Waspinator: I’m so proud of all of you.
Mirage adds that he should use his faceplate, as it makes him
look cool (she insists, upon his asking, that she does not mean
‘more cool’).
Cross-Shot is lost in her thoughts when Dinobot approaches her
– he thanks her for being by his side, and observes that, since
he met her, he knew she had the potential to be a powerful
warrior and ally of justice. He also praises her acceptance of
the sacrifices that must be made for peace, as Sickleclaw and
Sawblade both watch on separately.
Dinobot: Thank you, Cross-Shot. Having you by my side is an
honour.
Cross-Shot: Dinobot…
Dinobot: It’s been a while since we first met… even then, I saw
great potential in you. I knew you would grow to be a powerful
warrior… a true ally of justice. Even in the face of adversity,
you’re prepared to make sacrifices in order to secure serenity.
You aim for the greater good. If I were to abandon humility, I
would say we are two of a kind.
Cross-Shot: Of course.
Toxiclaw observes that the Valyssia engine is full and ready for
use, and Dinobot has some of his forces (including Kickback and
Rapax, who have left the blinded Scorpinax on his own) turn the
Ignition keys. The mysterious fluid seethes and glows brighter;
Dinobot climbs atop the engine, and dips the sword-form
Omniconfigurator in up to the hilt before shaking off any excess
– a few drops hit his arm and seethe. He announces to the
gathered Archaicons that the Omniconfigurator is now the
controller for the Valyssia engine, just as the Maximals appear.
Waspinator tells Dinobot that he cannot allow him to cast
judgement on their race, and the Archaicon snaps back that
someone must – that even if he commits a dark act, it is to save
so many more.
Waspinator: Dinobot!
Dinobot: Maximals… what could you possibly hope to achieve now?
Waspinator: We’re here to stop you. I’m not going to allow you
to decide who lives and who dies.
Dinobot: Someone must, Waspinator. Someone has to step up and
make the tough decisions. To do eradicate my old brothers and
sisters is a burden I have chosen to bear, for the sake of so
many more people who are suffering at the hands of our race.
Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall.
*Waspinator grits his teeth*
Dinobot: Nova Supreme and Galvatron. Emberscales and Necrocide.
No matter how our conflict transforms, it shall always cast
chaos across worlds innumerable. I will end this, for all our
sakes.
Arcrise questions why he is using the Eternal Heart, which
surprises even the other Maximals, and Dinobot remarks that to
reach out and erase trillions of beings would take a lot more
power than simply using the engine to flush a substance that
opposes their sparks into their systems – the same reason
Necrocide feared the Matrix. As the Maximals start to spread
out, Waspinator asks one last time if Dinobot will stop: he says
he shall not, and the two leaders order an attack at the same
time. Scale, Paladin, Mirage, Wildfire and Swingback all
immediately display unexpected powers, throwing the Archaicons
off, while Prophecy and Arcrise give it their all and Andromeda
haphazardly wields the Lokon blade. Waspinator and Dinobot duel,
Matrix sword glowing forcefully whenever the Omniconfigurator
strikes it, and the Maximal continues to swap out fragments
amongst his team all the while. Dinobot orders Sawblade to
summon their recently-acquired armies, but the anarchic bot lies
that he cannot get through to them.
The Maximals prove their battle capabilities; Scale teleports
around the battlefield, Paladin seals his opponents’ powers
while using his swords, Mirage uses telekinesis to manipulate
the abundant sand, Wildfire heats up his spikes, and Swingback
combines her athletic ability with duplication. Prophecy uses
energy bubbles, energy weapons and chronoskimming to expert use,
while Arcrise manipulates the environment and Andromeda balances
clumsy use of the Lokon blade (which is glowing all the while)
with attempts at employing her Fibonacci spiral. Cross-Shot
holds back from the fighting, visibly uncomfortable, before
going to the Valyssia engine and preparing to turn off one of
the keys – Sawblade approaches her, and she tells him that she
is protecting the keys. The anarchist claims that she would be
best off involving herself in the fight, and tells her to prove
herself a hero, which strikes a deep chord with her.
Sawblade: None of them are going to make it this far. You’d be
better off helping out with the fighting. Go on, Cross-Shot –
prove yourself a hero.
As Waspinator and Dinobot continue to duel, the Archaicon
manages to slice his old friend’s left hand off, discarding the
Matrix sword. He claims that the Omniconfigurator was created to
slay immortals, and prepares to stab through Waspinator, only
for the blade to drive into Cross-Shot instead, the fembot
having jumped between the leaders. Waspinator supports her,
falling to his knees, as Dinobot reels. After a moment, he
snarls that it is Waspinator’s fault, and raises his sword
again.
Dinobot: No… you… YOU did this, Waspinator! You twisted her! YOU
KILLED HER!
Tentacles grab his hands – the Quintessons appear, and declare
that they are taking Dinobot captive for dishonourable crimes.
As the other Archaicons are also apprehended, Sickleclaw hears
this, and states that Dinobot lied to her. The Archaicons are
whisked away by the Quintessons as Dinobot swears he shall kill
Waspinator; the Maximals gather themselves as Waspinator tends
to Cross-Shot. Cassiopeia approaches Andromeda, and explains
that she contacted the Quintessons. She apologises for the
attempted sacrifice, and informs the young bot that her
‘punishment’ shall be to stay with the Maximals. Cross-Shot
apologises for her foolishness, and Waspinator yells for someone
to try and find the miracle stone fragment, but the younger bot
predicts that she cannot be healed. She has Waspinator promise
to save reality, before dying, her head in his lap.
Later. The Maximals are in a restored Sepurt, with Waspinator
stood by an equally-restored Dawn Katana, holding his Ignition
key. Arcrise approaches him, worn out and with a reduced
Valyssia engine affixed to her chest; Waspinator asks if the
Arcrise machine was inspired by the engine, to no response. She
tells him that she wishes to head off on her own and learn how
far her powers reach, but that he can call her name if he needs
her; she leaps into his shadow and vanishes. Waspinator boards
the ship, greeting the contented A.I. and observing both the
restored Matrix crystal, which conceals away below the bridge;
and the glowing Lokon blade, which he ponders the need for.
Suddenly, he receives contact from Emberscales – the former
Prime tells him that Necrocide wishes to taint the Matrix, and
that Waspinator’s team must take it as far away as possible. The
other Maximals board with their Ignition keys, and Waspinator
regales Emberscales’ message. Mirage asks where they shall head
now…
*Waspinator looks at his gathered team, and smiles*

Episode 1:
The Matrix fragments giving powers is a neat little idea, and
certainly allows for a variety when it comes to battle. It's
nice to see Snapjaw in some capacity, as I quite liked him back
in Rise. Can't say I'm surprised he was abandoned by his fellow
Predacons. The mental image of Waspy sitting despondently with
the Arcrise egg morbidly amuses me. Sickleclaw's introduction
and her being saved by Dinobot were fun and handled well, and
Dinobot is certainly being written well.
Fragment quest was as expected and should be fun, and the
formation of the Archaicons was a pretty 'woah' moment that I
found great. I'm glad Sickleclaw has found someone she can
follow. (Raptors need to stick together) The Dawn Katana having
an AI is interesting. Is it gendered? I need to know for when it
inevitably explodes. Also Prophecy is hilarious, as might be
expected. All in all, a very good introductory episode for what
looks to be an exciting season of fragment hunting.
Episode 2:
Focus on Snapjaw makes me happy, and I'm glad Tidal Wave's past
experiences with him aren't just being overlooked. Cross-Shot
being a living detector is amusing on some level. Time for the
Archaicons to grow in number. Tidal Wave being able to teleport
is cool, if only for the mental image of a teleporting
crocodile. Dinobot just casually mentioning he blew up the
Matrix amused me as well. Poor confused Huntdown caught between
two opposing ideologies.
Howlback having duplication powers is interesting, and I like
that it's distracting on her concentration. Prophecy is as
hilarious and awesome as she always is. Tidal Wave's animosity
towards Snapjaw continues to be neat, and Snapjaw's intentions
are nice. Sweet fight scene, Huntdown pls, don't interrupt the
girls. Huntdown joins the Archaicons as expected. Snapjaw thank
you for calling him out on his hypocrisy and being awesome.
Character development. Another great episode.

Yay comments! :D
Episode 1:
Oh, it's not just powers in our cast. You keep reading and see
what comes up. :P Snapjaw, yeah, he's one of the most
charismatic amongst the Predacons, and having him in this series
felt like a fun idea to explore. Poor Waspy, amusing you with
his sadness. XD Glad I'm doing Dinobot well in general.
Glad too that you enjoy the set-up for this. Sickleclaw and her
belief in Dinobot are major points fo her. The Dawn Katana is
male; his voice is Joe Thomas, best known in the UK for playing
Simon in 'The Inbetweeners'. I've not seen much character range
in him, but he plays awkward very well. I can show a clip, but
imaging him as a less camp C-3PO. :P
Episode 2:
The powers getting some use is always fun, as is the idea that
they're not used to them yet, even if their upgrades allow them
to handle them better. Prophecy is always awesome. :P Playing
with Tidal Wave and Snapjaw's dynamic was fun, though they get
familiar reasonably quickly. And it was nice having Snapjaw give
that small but strong speech.

Episode 3:
The mental image of Dinobot in a cloak is pretty cool, as is
graffiti being sprayed on faction symbols. Fragment hunt
continues, the Archaicons continue to grow in number. Cross-Shot
being a living tracking device amuses me. An inner circle, eh?
Dinobot pls you're making your faction against factions all the
more faction-like. Nice to see the Maximals exercising tact.
Prophecy is amusing as ever. And now you're getting an arsonist,
Dinobot? To aid your faction of peace and the old ways?
Looks like taking it out at night isn't an option. Damn it
Prophecy. Regret, Cross-Shot has been stabbed. Cool, a sea
scorpion. Picking up on all them signals is interesting. The
miracle stone helps out, and the Maximals complete their act of
thievery for the greater good. Nice transitional episode.
Episode 4:
Saw Cross-Shot being shaken coming. Howlback experimenting with
her powers is nice to see as well. Space battle hype! Prophecy
continues to be best girl. They've been saved by someone who
evidently has a fragment, neat. Can't say I'm surprised
Scorpinax is being mistrusted. Very Archaicon video message. Oh,
nice, a mercenary. That's pretty cool. RIP Scale's ship. He's
embroiled in some nasty business it seems.
Delusional guy named Airazor is hilarious. Heh, Scale is
actually not cool colored. Greyscale is stealth, nice. Leopard
gecko, sweet. Airazor is still a massive tool. As I thought, he
was who Scale was after. A two-parter is cool, sucks to be
Airazor even if I'm not sure he's dead just yet.
Episode 5:
We continue where we left off and Airazor isn't dead. Wing
blades are cool and while a moron he actually comes across as
badass here. Heh, that conversation. Phasing is a sweet power by
the way. RIP Howlback duplicate. Man, there are a whole lot of
bounty hunters around. Scale's power of anti-power is proving
quite useful. Snapjaw no need to be rood to Cross-Shot. Nice
speech Scale. Snapjaw no need to be rood to Scale, even if I
love you for your rood.
One last mission, eh? Heh, Huntdown being unnerved. Sickleclaw's
sweet. Scorpinax please, why must u destroy Airazor's art? Nice
to see Waspy still doesn't wanna fight Team Dinobot. Sucks to be
you Airazor. Saw Scale joining the team coming. Also saw
Airazor's survival and joining the Archaicons coming. Nice
two-parter, nice new cast members, should be fun.
