Thank you. XD I did a concept doodle, then drew the
'Transformers' bit in a grid and with a ruler to make it
epically neat. Figured it'd be best to just draw that and add
'Fragments' digitally, so I'd have that for all future logos
rather than re-drawing it for each one.
Thought I'd have to use my graphics tablet to work it, but in
actuality, I managed to make all of the photo except for the
logo transparent, tweak the colours, add the subtitle (had to do
on Paint so my not!Photoshop wouldn't recognise it as text :P),
add the lines to the subtitle, and then put it through a 'colour
       pencil' filter.
I'm really proud of it, looks so official. XD
Any comments re: series summary? :3

did I not see the Archaicons coming. xD

Well yeah. XD But the 'fragment quest' (good name :3) is
different from my normal Macguffin hunts. Much like with
Waspinator e.t.c, the fragments are burying themselves into
things - not just colonial Cybertronians, but other species,
even objects. And they have properties that make these stories
far more than just 'find the fragment, move on'.
As for the Archaicons... what I've done with Waspinator and
Dinobot is set up an Optimus/Megatron or Xavier/Magneto
relationship. Flipside of the same coin. But while with those
two, we only see them as enemies and maybe flashback to their
time as allies, we've seen Waspy and Dinobot as brothers-in-arms
for years. So this sudden shift - it's unique, it's interesting,
and it's gonna be fun to explore. Dinobot, in turn, is building
this new faction in-story as it's the direction he's heading in,
opposing both factions, and from a narrative viewpoint because
       he needs a faction. :P
See, it's not even started and it's being deconstructed more
       than Irvine-era ever was. XD
Oh, don't forget, here-on is (in my head-canon) animated by
Shaft (Madoka Magica, Bakemonogatari). Expect arty scenes, weird
       stuff, and many head-tilts. :P

Episode 1 – Breaking the Fall
       Airdate: Saturday 29th June 2013
Synopsis: A cloaked figure stands at the mouth of a volcano, Mt.
Velderbar – as it spews smog and rock, a large dark crystal
bursts out, landing near the figure. He picks it up, carefully,
and inspects it. It is a Valemite crystal… and the figure is
Dinobot. Elsewhere, aboard Panthalassa, Waspinator is being
tested by Constant and Sonar; the hornet-bot remarks that the
Matrix fragment imbedded within his chest is still causing his
system to overload on occasion, though its benefits are growing
       – as Constant reconfigures his left hand to generate a photon
scanner, Waspinator crudely copies the action, his newfound
       emulation ability.
Waspinator: Still, for all the black-outs, the benefits keep
       improving.
Sonar: Benefits? Is that how you’re referring to that power of
       yours now?
*Constant reconfigures his hand, Waspinator does so too*
Waspinator: Well I don’t see many downsides to emulating the
capabilities of others. Still needs refining… but still, I’m
       getting there.
As Constant scans Waspinator’s body, Sonar shows him her
proposed reformatting plan, a specific reformat scheme that
should optimise the fragments’ benefits while minimising the
drawbacks. As she remarks that he and the others can still have
their fragments extracted, he insists that the four of them feel
that the fragments have chosen them. A knock on the door alerts
the trio to a new presence – Snapjaw. Though the three draw
arms, the Predacon insists that he comes in peace; he needs to
       be treated for his fragment.
Snapjaw: Alright, OK, put your weapons down. I’m not here to
hurt you. Actually… I’m the one who’s hurting. This little bit
of Matrix… I need you to help me. No one else will.
Waspinator excuses himself. In the observation orb, a large open
space with a glass dome ceiling, Tidal Wave and Howlback discuss
how far they have come in the past few months – from teachers on
Earth, to soldiers in a multiverse-spanning war. Waspinator
watches them from nearby, clutching the Arcrise egg, as
Cross-Shot approaches him; she tells him that he has looked
despondent since the Matrix’s destruction and Dinobot’s
betrayal. The older bot remarks that he and Dinobot had been
allies for so long that it feels wrong to be opposed to him now.
A marketplace, the planet Sherella. The buzz of busy shoppers is
sliced through by a mob, storming past, tearing up stalls. Their
target is a young fembot; she is hidden behind one stall,
darting off as the mob grows closer. As she flees, it is evident
from the half-removed Maximal insignia that she has lost faith
in her faction. Chased, she finds herself at the edge of a
cliff, with no way out as the mob draws close. She draws her
sickle-blades, hoping to fend herself off, but within moments,
the mob has her hopelessly overpowered. At that moment, Dinobot
appears, still with his cloak, and uses his sword – along with a
smaller tantō – to fight off the mob. As they depart,
Dinobot turns to he fembot, introducing himself as an ally. The
younger bot – Sickleclaw – is suspicious of him, but as he
       leaves, she follows after him.
Dinobot: Do not fear, child. I am an ally. You are safe.
Sickleclaw: Says the bot in the cloak with the swords. Thanks
for saving me, but how do I know I can trust you?
Gigatron is scanning over information aboard Panthalassa when
Waspinator enters the room. The hornet-bot informs Gigatron of
Snapjaw’s arrival, and the larger bot notes that now is as good
a time as any to start tracking the Matrix fragments. He hands
Waspinator a handheld device constructed by Ironfist, capable of
drawing the fragments out of bots – a fragment extractor. He
also goes to give him a tracking device, but Waspinator remarks
that Cross-Shot’s new ability is detection, and seems to be
especially atuned to fragments. Impressed, Gigatron informs
Waspinator of a ship in Panthalassa’s hangar, the Dawn Katana,
which is perfect for their quest. Not long later, Snapjaw is sat
awkwardly amongst Cross-Shot, Tidal Wave and Howlback as
Waspinator holds a meeting with them. He explains that as the
five all posess fragments, it is their duty and responsibility
to locate the others. None of the bots seem particularly sure –
Cross-Shot is the most interested of them – but they concede, at
least for now, to join him. Waspinator leads them off to Sonar
       for reformatting.
       Dinobot reaches his ship on Sherella, with Sickleclaw following;
she asks who he is, and he explains that he is a lost
Cybertronian hoping to find his own path. He elaborates that he
no longer holds faith in either existing faction, and wishes to
start one of his own – the Archaicons, representing the
long-lost ways of ancient Cybertron and its unity between
       factions.
Dinobot: The Maximals and Predacons both… are not what I
believed them to be. Time has changed them, nature has shaped
them. I… I turned my back on both. There is another way. I am
attempting to start my own faction, the Archaicons.
       Sickleclaw: Archaicons?
Dinobot: If the unity and peace of Cybertron is nothing but an
archaic mindset, then I will gladly be archaic with it. There
can be peace between our people, but not as they are now. I will
find those who agree with me. We will find our own way.
Sickleclaw is eager to join him, and he accepts, welcoming her
as the second member of the faction. As the fragment-bearing
bots, now in upgraded versions of their forms, wait outside of
Emberscales’ chambers, Waspinator confers with him (Arcrise egg
again in his hands), clarifying the mission. Emberscales points
out that this is a mission of grave importance, and that the
future of the Cybertronian race is resting in their hands.
Waspinator leads his team off to the hangar, where they find the
Dawn Katana – a ship with a sleek design, and, within, a
furnished and futuristic bridge. The ship’s artificial
intelligence greets the crew, and Waspinator appoints himself as
leader for the ship’s systems, placing the Arcrise egg down all
the while. As Tidal Wave pilots it out into space, the ship
registers each Cybertronian on-board – Waspinator first, then
Cross-Shot, Tidal Wave, Howlback, Snapjaw (registered in as a
Maximal), and finally Prophecy, who gleefully announces that she
       has snuck on-board.
Dawn Katana: OK, that just leaves-
Tidal Wave: Just leaves? There’s only five of us.
Prophecy: One, two, three, four, five, six! You mean me, right?
       *the others turn to her*
       Waspinator: Prophecy!
Cross-Shot: What are you doing here?
Prophecy: Nevermind why I’m here, guess what? I snuck onboard! I
was all sneaky and you guys didn’t know!
Dawn Katana: Sorry, erm, I think I’m missing something here…
Waspinator takes her aside, questioning her actions, but she
insists that she needs to be here, and adds that Waspinator
should not worry about his leadership skills. Taken aback,
Waspinator turns to the others, and asks Cross-Shot where they
       are headed to first.

       Episode 2 – Familiar Faces
       Airdate: Saturday 6th July 2013
Synopsis: The Dawn Katana heads through space as the bots
on-board choose their quarters. Only Waspinator and Cross-Shot
remain in the bridge; the young archer insists that she is sure
that their destination is home to a Matrix fragment… Gogax.
[titles - theme can be found here

As Snapjaw settles into his new quarters, Tidal Wave approaches
him. He asks his nemesis why he has so readily turned to the
Maximals, and Snapjaw retorts that there is nothing ‘readily’
about it – the other Predacons refused to help him, and he had
no choice but to turn to the Maximals. He is with them through
       debt, nothing more.
Tidal Wave: I don’t get it. You’re a Predacon. You look like
one, you talk like one, you- well, you ARE one. How can you just
       join the Maximals so readily?
Snapjaw: … readily? You think I was merrily skipping along and
thought “hey, y’know what’d be fun? Joining the Maximals!”? The
others didn’t know how to help me, and they didn’t want to.
Y’know what Skysquawk said? He said… OK, I can’t remember the
phrasing, but he said that if I can’t deal with it then I should
go. What were my options? I had to come to you Maximals. I’m on
this ship right now because I owe you. That’s it.
Prophecy bounds past, just as the ship touches down on Gogax –
Waspinator explains that he knows of this place from his
restored timeline a memories. Evidently, a small number of
Cybertronians live here in this universe. Cross-Shot focuses and
detects the fragment, and the team head out. All the while,
Dinobot’s ship is elsewhere on Gogax; he explains to Sickleclaw
that he knows of a possible ally who once lived on this planet,
and though he may not be here anymore, he is still worth looking
       for.
Sickleclaw: Why did we come here?
Dinobot: I knew someone, an old ally who spent time here long
ago. It’s a long-shot, of course, but if he is here now… he
would be a most willing and useful member the Archaicons.
The Maximals head through the Gogaxian city, as run-down as
ever, with Cross-Shot attempting to focus her detection power.
She starts to get a headache, and Waspinator suggests they split
up to cover more ground. Waspinator stays with Cross-Shot, while
Tidal Wave teleports away with Snapjaw and Howlback goes with
Prophecy. As Tidal Wave and Snapjaw appear elsewhere in the
city, the Predacon applauds his rival’s new ability, though
Tidal Wave notes that he is still getting used to it. Snapjaw
remarks that he is not yet sure what his new ability is. The two
search for something out-of-the-ordinary in silence. As Dinobot
and Sickleclaw continue searching, they bump into another bot –
who Dinobot recognises as his former Maximal ally, Huntdown.
Dinobot talks to Huntdown, who naturally has no memories of
timeline a; the bot explains how, in the past couple of weeks,
he has been in pain and developing a strange ability. He
attributes it to the appearing of a crystal shard from the sky
that embedded itself into his chest. Dinobot leads Sickleclaw
aside, and explains the shattering of the Matrix to her – she is
shocked, more so when he notes that he caused it.
Dinobot: It seems that the shattering of the Matrix of
Leadership was more powerful than anyone could have thought…
       Sickleclaw: Come again?
Dinobot: The Matrix of Leadership. It was destroyed at a moment
of crisis. The fragments scattered… I just did not realise how
       far.
       Sickleclaw: Someone… destroyed the Matrix…
       Dinobot: Not just someone. Myself.
       Sickleclaw: … you…?
He goes on to explain that Huntdown was an ally of his long ago,
and may prove useful again. As the two go to return to Huntdown,
they find him talking to Waspinator and Cross-Shot. Waspinator
and Dinobot freeze as they see one another, and Cross-Shot
immediately aims at Dinobot as Sickleclaw transforms into her
new Velociraptor mode and prepares to pounce on the Maximal.
Confused, Huntdown attempts to cease the brewing conflict, as
Waspinator and Dinobot start to talk. Howlback and Prophecy
search around the city, with Howlback using her duplication
powers to cover much of the district. However, the original’s
concentration keeps drifting, which she claims is due to the
difficulty of controlling even a few duplicates. Prophecy
       continues the conversation nevertheless.
Prophecy: … but then it turns out that if you buy three of them,
you get a discount which only bears are usually allowed, and
then if you take the receipt-
       Howlback: Yeah, yeah…
Prophecy: That’s odd. You usually question the importance of my
       ramblings.
Howlback: It’s… having these duplicates going around. Even with
only three or four, it’s… hard to concentrate.
Prophecy: I get it. … so yeah, if you take the receipt to
another place, they give you a whole set of grenades, and a free
       fish…
Tidal Wave and Snapjaw also continue, remaining silent, until
Snapjaw points out that if he is going to be a member of the
team, Tidal Wave – and the others – will need to suck it up and
deal with it, even if he was once their enemy. Tidal Wave snarls
back that he has no reason to trust the Predacon, as he has
never once shown any sign of remorse over his nefarious acts.
Snapjaw remarks that he has none, but he believes that the
Matrix is important and he would rather help the Maximals than
fall in-line under the genocidal Necrocide again.
Tensions continue to rise as Waspinator and Dinobot talk and
Cross-Shot and Sickleclaw prepare to fight. When Dinobot makes
clear his intentions to build a new faction, Cross-Shot fires an
arrow at him, which he deflects; Sickleclaw pounces at her, and
the two begin to scrap. Waspinator refuses to fight Dinobot,
while Huntdown turns the ground beneath the fighting fembots to
liquid, disrupting the fight as the young enemies fall through.
He then asks Dinobot about his new faction, but Waspinator
insists that the Maximals are still a force for justice (though
Dinobot deems it ‘twisted justice’). With Huntdown paying
attention to Dinobot, Waspinator contacts the others and gives
them his coordinates. Tidal Wave quickly teleports himself and
Snapjaw there, which Snapjaw thanks him for, while Howlback and
Prophecy race to the scene. Cross-Shot and Sickleclaw continue
their fight, as Waspinator pleads with Huntdown to reconsider,
but the colonial bot states that he is tired of Maximals and
Predacons conflicting – he wants to leave this world and be part
of something more. Snapjaw steps forward and snarls that the
whole point of varying factions is that they are opposed to one
another; in no time at all, Dinobot’s new faction will be as
confrontational as the Maximals and Predacons.
Snapjaw: That’s pathetic. Do you know what being in a faction
even means? It means standing up for what you believe in. It
means loyalty to a cause. That’s why we’ve got more than one
slagging faction in the first place! Maximals and Predacons are
going to fight, and whatever faction Dinobot is trying to make,
it won’t be long before they’re just the same.
Huntdown refuses to change his mind, and Snapjaw proceeds to
draw out his fragment with the fragment extractor, sneakily
taken from Waspinator’s waist. Dinobot calls Sickleclaw to his
side, and the two leave with Huntdown. Howlback and Prophecy
arrive, and the group ask Waspinator who the new bot was. He
refers to him as ‘an old friend’, and thanks Snapjaw for
retrieving Huntdown’s fragment, at which the bot asks that he be
officially regarded as a Maximal from now on… he is, after all,
       part of the team.

Episode 3 – So Many New Things
       Airdate: Saturday 13th July 2013
Synopsis: Night-time suburbia, as rain falls. A bot is spraying
graffiti on both Maximal and Predacon insignias. Three figures
approach him – Dinobot (wearing his cloak), Sickleclaw and
Huntdown. The Archaicon leader offers the bot a new way of life.
As the Dawn Katana heads through space, Cross-Shot tries to
focus on locating the next fragment, though the ship’s AI keeps
interrupting her train of thought. Eventually, Tidal Wave enters
and tells the ship to quiet down. Cross-Shot finally manages to
detect another fragment – on a planet not too far from their
present location. Waspinator authorises the ship to head there
from his quarters. The new Archaicon boards Dinobot’s ship, to
find three other bots on-board – Sickleclaw explains that there
are many bots who share his viewpoint.
Archaicon 1: Well… looks like I’m not your first.
Sickleclaw: There are more people who disagree with the
Maximal/Predacon deal than you’d think. Sure, there’s only seven
of us for now, but we’ve only covered a couple of planets.
The bot remarks that none exist on this planet; Dinobot agrees
with this, noting that he has been sending out messages across
planets, and happened to find him by chance. The ships lifts
off, all while the Dawn Katana lands down on another planet. The
ship identifies it as Farna, and Cross-Shot immediately heads
out to trace the fragment, the others following before the ship
can finish explaining the planet. Rushing into the city, they
find a crowd surrounding something – Cross-Shot continues
through, the others following, until they reach the centre… and
find a large stone, with various alien citizens approaching it.
Cross-Shot declares that the fragment is embedded in the stone.
The Archaicon ship is sat on another planet, with Dinobot,
Sickleclaw and Huntdown headed out. Huntdown asks why Dinobot
only takes the two of them with him to find new Archaicons, and
the leader remarks that he is building an inner-circle and only
the two of them are suitable so far. Howlback asks one of the
crowd members what the stone is, and they explain that it is the
miracle stone – a stone that has recently developed
extraordinary powers. Waspinator points out that it will be
difficult for them to extract the fragment publicly – they will
       have to wait until night.
Prophecy returns to the group and remarks that she has booked
them into a hotel, which bemuses the others.
Waspinator: We can’t take the fragment right now. Not when it’s
lodged in – and the cause of – what those people are passionate
about. We should be better off at night.
Prophecy: Hey guys! So I booked us into a hotel, it’s not that
good but we only need to stay for a little while, right?
Snapjaw: It’s incredible, for a minute there I thought we had a
       ship to stay in.
Dinobot, Sickleclaw and Huntdown reach a prison cell, where a
bot is being held for arson. Dinobot slices the bars of the
cell, allowing the bot out and promising him a future where the
differences between the factions are meaningless. Sickleclaw
questions the decision to accept a criminal into the fold, but
Dinobot states that they need every bot they can find, for
better or worse. As night falls on Farna, the Maximals prepare
to head out. Tidal Wave teleports himself, Waspinator and
Howlback out to the location of the stone, they find a group
       still surrounding it.
Tidal Wave: … y’know, we should’ve figured this would happen
       beforehand.
Snapjaw phases through buildings to join them, and suggests that
he simply remove the fragment with his power. Waspinator points
out that they still cannot simply approach the stone so brazenly
with the crowd around. Tidal Wave points out that Prophecy is
doing exactly that – she announces to the crowd that the stone
must be restored to normal for the greater good, but the crowd
       respond badly.
Cross-Shot reaches the others even as he crowd turns on them,
crying out that the stone has saved so many. Waspinator snaps at
Prophecy, who does not seem to understand the reason for his
concern, and points out the fragment extractor on his waistline.
Howlback duplicates herself to try and fend off the mob, as
Cross-Shot attempts to reach the stone. She tries to push
through the crowd, insistent on not harming anyone, when a
mobster stabs her deeply. Elsewhere, Dinobot, Sickleclaw and
Huntdown are searching through a semi-aquatic but abandoned city
when Dinobot is attacked by an alien sea-creature; Sickleclaw
and Huntdown transform into their Velociraptor and Lycaenops
forms, but Dinobot manages to deal with the creature with little
effort – it transforms. The bot remarks that he attacked Dinobot
as he identified him as the leader, and asks who they are.
Dinobot explains who the Archaicons are, and Scorpinax notes
that he received their signal via his universal streaming
       computers.
Dinobot: We are the Archaicons – a new faction, free from the
petty feuds between the Maximals and Predacons.
Scorpinax: I know who you are. I picked up on your signal. I
pick up on a lot of signals, really… I’ve got a fair few
computer systems running universal streaming. Nothing goes past
       me.
He accepts the offer to join the faction, and Dinobot welcomes
him. As he leads Scorpinax off, Sickleclaw and Huntdown remark
to one another that Scorpinax is obviously set to be one of his
inner-circle. As the mob continue attacking the Maximals,
Waspinator rushes to Cross-Shot’s aid, and assures her that she
will make it. He takes her to the miracle stone, and holds her
to it – the fragment’s power restores her, drawing the mob’s
attention, and Waspinator proceeds to remove the fragment. Even
as the mob start to attack again, Tidal Wave teleports the group
back to the Dawn Katana; exhausted, Waspinator orders the ship
to fly them away. The six sit in silence, permeated only by
       Cross-Shot’s panting.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Episode 4 – Perpetual Motion
       Airdate: Saturday 20th July 2013
Synopsis: Cross-Shot is recovering in her quarters, still shaken
from her scrape with death, when Howlback enters. The wolf-bot
asks how Cross-Shot is holding up, and even as she engages in
conversation, another Howlback brings some supplies in. Both
duplicates explain that she is practicing with her powers – an
alarm goes off, and the duplicates vanish due to the surprise.
The Dawn Katana alerts that they’re under attack.
As the ship’s crew gather in the bridge, Tidal Wave and Snapjaw
take the controls (as does Prophecy, although the bots,
including herself, note that she cannot fly the ship), and start
to fly the ship against the attacking fighter.
       Snapjaw: We’ve got this.
Tidal Wave: I didn’t take piloting lessons for nothing.
       Prophecy: I know, right?
       Tidal Wave: … erm, Prophecy…
Cross-Shot: Can you even fly a ship?
       Waspinator: No. She can’t.
       Prophecy: I know, right?
Snapjaw: Is this suddenly the only thing she can say?
Prophecy: I don’t know how to fly this thing, guys!
Cross-Shot suddenly remarks that she can sense a fragment, even
as a second ship draws close… and blasts the attacking ship
apart. Waspinator orders the Dawn Katana to link to the new
ship, although the new arrival at first refuses the contact.
Eventually, he accepts, and the video-link shows a gruff-looking
bot in black and grey. He asks what the Maximals want, and
Cross-Shot insists to Waspinator that he has a fragment in him.
Waspinator asks where the bot is headed, and if they can meet
there to discuss things. Although the bot is unsure, Waspinator
mentions the fragment, and he agrees, sending the coordinates
for his destination. Elsewhere, Scorpinax is testing out his new
Mixopterus sea-scorpion mode, with Sickleclaw and Huntdown
watching on. Their discussion implies that they are not fond of
their new ally. Dinobot is piloting the ship towards their next
destination, where a bot has apparently sent out his own
message, a call to arms of all those opposed to the Maximals and
Predacons (the message is loaded up digitally on the ship’s
windscreen). The Dawn Katana lands down on the planet Trebassa,
with the new bot’s ship landing down nearby. Snapjaw points out
that it is a mercenary ship, as all of the bots exit their
vehicles. The new bot introduces himself as Scale, a mercenary
who is presently on a mission. He informs the Maximals that if
they have information on the fragment in his chest, they should
       explain quickly.
Scale: Right. Since you’ve asked so nicely… my name is Scale.
I’m a mercenary. Right now, I’m supposed to be on a mission. If
you have information on whatever the slag this is in my chest,
as you claim, then spill it, quickly. I’ve got a lot to do and
little time to do it in.
Waspinator explains that it is a shard from the Matrix of
Leadership, and how most of his crew have them too, having been
upgraded to better cope with them. They are on a mission to
recover the fragments – he holds up the extractor. Scale offers
to have his fragment removed, but before anything can be done,
       his ship explodes.
The mercenary explores his ship’s wreckage; he finds parts of
the detonative, and remarks that it was a bounty hunter’s. Tidal
Wave enquires as to why a bounty hunter would plant a bomb on
his ship, and Scale explains that his current mission is,
regrettably, a bounty hunt. He refuses to enclose further
details, salvaging what is left of his equipment and weaponry
and heading off towards the city nearby. Waspinator leads the
Maximals after him, and though the mercenary snarls at them that
he still has no reason to trust them, Waspinator points out that
they need to get his fragment. Scale exclaims that he has no
time to spare, as there are surely bounty hunters on this
planet, and simply decides that if the Maximals help him make
the hit first (or conversely, stay out of his way), he will let
them take the fragment once everything is done. The Maximals
agree to this, and follow Scale. As the Archaicon ship draws
closer to its destination, Dinobot manages to make contact with
the radical bot, known as Airazor – the leader of the new
faction explains that he is of the same mindset as Airazor, and
is headed to meet with him. The younger bot chuckles, stating
that he is the one who shall lead the unaligned into a new age,
but Dinobot states that he is unaware of greater truths and ends
       the call.
Airazor: Heh heh… you’ve got that backwards. Who are you,
exactly? I’m me! Me being Airazor! And you know what Airazor
means? It means the first, and the best!
Dinobot: That would be “Optimus Prime”.
Airazor: He’s got nothing on me. I’m starting a whole new
faction. Revolutionary! Radical! Airazor! I’ll lead the
unaligned into a new age of victory and glory!
Dinobot: You are one Cybertronian, on one planet. There is so
much you have not seen, and so much you do not know.
All the while, Scale and the Maximals have entered the city,
with Scale using a scanning device to try and locate the target
       – except the scanner plays up. The mercenary curses, and tells
the Maximals that this has been happening to him since the
fragment embedded in him. Tidal Wave deduces that it is a power
disruption ability, while Cross-Shot attempts to detect the same
signal. She prepares to lead the group on, but Scale remarks
that they will need to stealth their colours – he works on
increasing the frequency of his stealth-mode device, which
malfunctions briefly as he does, unveiling his yellow and
dull-purple colours in the process (Snapjaw sn*ggers). With the
bots all in greyscale, they head off to find the target.
The group continue on, with Scale evidently unhappy with his
newfound company. Cross-Shot points out where the target
apparently is: an abandoned broadcast tower. Scale tells the
Maximals to leave the rest to him, transforming into his leopard
gecko mode and scaling the building. As the Maximals wait, they
notice a ship fly overhead – the Archaicon ship, although they
only realise this when Sickleclaw, Huntdown and Scorpinax dive
out and land on the top of the tower. They are on orders from
Dinobot to approach Airazor and bring him into the fold. The
trio enter the building from the top even as Scale slinks in
lower down. Waspinator orders Cross-Shot and Snapjaw to head in,
along with as many duplicates as Howlback can manage. Scale
attempts to activate an invisibility cloak, but the device fails
on him; cursing under his breath, he instead launches an aerial
drone that starts to scan the area, and draws two shuriken. The
Archaicons manage to locate Airazor first, and introduce
themselves as Dinobot’s inner-circle, although Airazor remarks
that they will be his inner-circle soon enough.
       Huntdown: Are you Airazor?
Airazor: *jumps, then turns to them* Yes! The one and only! Who
       are you?
       Sickleclaw: We’re Archaicons.
       Scorpinax: More specifically, Dinobot’s inner-circle.
Airazor: Ha, that clown? Trust me, you’re gonna be MY
       inner-circle soon enough!
As Waspinator, Tidal Wave, Howlback and Prophecy wait outside,
they are attacked by a bounty hunter; Tidal Wave shields
Howlback so she can maintain concentration, while Waspinator and
Prophecy manage to swiftly knock the hunter out. As Airazor
proposes his ideas of building fleets and assaulting all the
major colonies (with the Archaicons perceiving him to have a
screw loose), he is struck in the back by a shuriken. In pain,
he turns to see Scale in the shadows; the mercenary welcomes
Airazor to the last moments of his life.

Episode 5 – Flotsam and Jetsam
       Airdate: Saturday 27th July 2013
Synopsis: Airazor stumbles to the floor, as Scale approaches,
other shuriken still in-hand. He informs Airazor that his
anarchic ways will end, but before he can make the killing
strike, Airazor kicks his leg, sending an electric jolt through
him. He jumps to his feet, pulls the shuriken out of his back,
before drawing his wing-blades from his back. The unaligned bot
swears that the Maximals and Predacons shall fall, before
       lunging at Scale.
All the while, Cross-Shot, Snapjaw and the Howlback duplicates
continue heading through the tower, Snapjaw phasing them through
rubble when needed. Snapjaw enquires to what extent Cross-Shot’s
powers work, but she is barely paying attention; he clicks his
fingers at her and she snaps at him, before apologising.
Snapjaw: You know, Cross-Shot, if your powers are strong enough,
we can just… how strong ARE your powers, anyway? … Trebassa to
Cross-Shot? Hello? Oi. *clicks his fingers*
       Cross-Shot: What?!
       Snapjaw: … why, how charming.
       Cross-Shot: Sorry, sorry…
One of the Howlback duplicates notices movement, before a bounty
hunter appears from the shadows, quickly slitting the
duplicate’s throat. Outside, the real Howlback reels from the
pain, and Tidal Wave tends to her, making sure she is alright.
She explains what is happening inside, and Waspinator has her
order Snapjaw, via one of her duplicates, to evade the hunters
and keep phasing the Maximals through the building and find the
Archaicons. The hyena-bot does so, although the hunter manages
to ‘kill’ another duplicate in the process, with Howlback
responding in agony outside. Scale and Airazor fight, with the
younger bot fighting aggressively with his blades and Scale
using a faltering photon-shield to hold off the radical bot’s
attacks. Sickleclaw and Huntdown stand back and watch, while
Scorpinax starts to stream through Airazor’s data. Another
bounty hunter reaches the room at that moment, and attempts to
snipe Airazor, but Sickleclaw attacks him, stating that the
Archaicons cannot allow Airazor to die. Airazor manages to back
Scale into an elevator shaft, but as the mercenary falls, he
transforms into leopard gecko mode and clings onto the walls.
Chuckling, Airazor quickly hotwires the controls, making the
elevator below rise rapidly, but as it reaches Scale, it halts.
Scale remarks that his new power is not as useless as it seems,
and Airazor jumps down the shaft onto the top of the elevator,
stating that he will not stop fighting until Scale is dead.
The Maximals inside the building continue heading upwards
towards the location of the Archaicons; Snapjaw asks Cross-Shot
if she knows exactly where they are, but she does not. He
snarls, asking her what the point in her power is, and she yells
that she is doing her best and that her powers are not as simple
as his. He retorts that it should not be hard to “sniff out”
what she wants to find; the Howlback duplicates insist they keep
on heading through the building. Scale and Airazor duel on top
of the elevator, with Scale now wielding a cable from the shaft
       – Airazor states that the Maximals and Predacons are all flawed
and will fall soon enough, but Scale scoffs, claiming that
everything is flawed and that whatever Airazor has planned will
       be no better.
Airazor: I don’t know why you’re fighting me. Maximal, Predacon
       – whichever you are, it doesn’t matter. Both factions are
       flawed. So very flawed. They’re gonna fall, sooner or later;
       fall all the way down.
Scale: Flawed? And nothing else is? Everything that exists if
flawed, one war or another, and whatever stupid slag you’re up
to, it’s not gonna be any less flawed.
The mercenary tricks Airazor into slicing through the elevator’s
main cable, and he quickly transforms and clambers up the shaft
even as the elevator falls and Airazor transforms into an alien
insect, flying up himself. By the time Airazor exits the shaft
and lands, he finds that Scale is nowhere to be seen. The
mercenary, now in robot mode and panting, heads through
corridors, bumping into Cross-Shot, Snapjaw and the Howlback
duplicates. Snapjaw pins Scale to a wall, and demands to know
       what exactly is going on.
Snapjaw: OK, buddy, listen to me and listen closely. We’ve been
traipsing around this building for ages with no idea what the
slag is going on, and I’m getting sick of it, so you’re going to
tell us EXACTLY what is happening here, RIGHT NOW!
The mercenary refuses to talk, but Snapjaw threatens to phase
him into the wall, and he complies – he explains that he is
retiring after this mission, that his contact informed him of
the hunt and offered to double the reward if he makes the kill,
and that the target is a bot attempting to forge his own
faction. One of the duplicates points that they too are dealing
with a new faction – one that is apparently reaching out to the
       target.
Sickleclaw has managed to kill the bounty hunter, which
Huntdown is a touch unnerved by (although his ally notes that it
was kill-or-be-killed), while Scorpinax states that Airazor’s
ideas are interesting – but he has deleted the whole lot, to
give him that extra push towards joining the Archaicons.
Scorpinax: Airazor has some pretty interesting ideas, you know.
So much data. Maps, lists, plans, even poorly-drawn insignia
designs to choose from. … obviously, I deleted it all. Every
last file. The way I see it, it makes it a little more likely
       that he’ll join us.
Howlback updates Waspinator on events within the building; the
leader states that as they now know what the Archaicons are up
to, they must assist Scale so as to gain his fragment. Snapjaw
argues back via comm. link that they should stop the Archaicons,
but Waspinator reminds him that it is not their business.
Snapjaw reluctantly agrees, but Scale points out that he does
not know where Airazor is now. Cross-Shot points out that she
still knows his signal, and glares at Snapjaw before leading the
team off. Airazor enters his room, asking the Archaicons if they
are ready to join him, before noticing that his data has been
wiped. Sickleclaw asks if he is ready to join the Archaicons,
just as Cross-Shot, Snapjaw, Scale and the duplicates appear.
Airazor draws his wing-blades, but Cross-Shot fires arrows at
them, shattering them. Snapjaw and the duplicates confront the
Archaicons, as Scale repeatedly beats Airazor, before kicking
the bot out of the building – he lands hard on the ground. The
duplicates vanish and Snapjaw phases himself, Cross-Shot and
Scale away, as the Archaicons go to check on Airazor. A few
minutes later, elsewhere in the city, Waspinator prepares to
remove Scale’s fragment, but the mercenary states that he would
like to join them instead. In retirement, he has nothing to do
       with his life.
Waspinator: OK. We held up our part of the deal. Let’s get that
       fragment out of you.
Scale: Actually… you all have your fragments still in you,
right? I think I’m gonna leave this stuck in here. I’m done with
the mercenary game, and there aren’t any other games I’d
consider playing. So. If you want me, I’m yours. For free. My
       only offer.
Waspinator accepts, although Howlback remarks to Tidal Wave that
she is unsure if letting Scale kill Airazor was the right thing
to do. All the while, Airazor groggily awakens aboard the
Archaicon ship, within a CR chamber, and Dinobot welcomes him to
       the faction.
